  • I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

Green sea turtles can live for 70+ years, meaning some of the turtles that were alive when this one was caught are still around.

The soup is "artificially" flavored with a product that is basically vegemite(a type of boullion to increase and intensify flavor). MSG wasn't widely used in the states yet. Due to the flavor coming from protein and not fresh produce it is considered artificial. Just not artificial with anything fake

This species of turtle can live up to and slightly beyond 70+ years. So if this can of Green Turtle Soup is 70 years old and that turtle when caught was 70 years old, that means that turtle meat inside this can could very possibly be from 1883 or earlier. This means if you would have ate any of that turtle, that before you died a very painful death, you would have set a new world record for eating the oldest reptile in the world in modern times.

The harsh conditions of the dishwasher cause the aluminum to oxidize, resulting in dark smudges or white spots. This effect is amplified with every cycle through the dishwasher. The first run-through may not change the appearance much. But, each cycle will increase the oxidization of the pans. Never use a dishwasher with aluminum. Great video btw!

The color looks like almond that may have discolored. None of the sites give an exact date. Lastly that turtle meat under the microscope looks like abstract cave paintings! Haha!

They make can openers that undo the can lip instead of cutting the can.
It literally undoes the sealed top of can (or bottom) and after you lift top off and empty can, the top goes right back on and it’s completely unnoticeable the top was ever messed with.
And no part of the opener touches any part of the label at all. Making it impossible to damage label at all and giving you the option to open either top or bottom and still having a complete untouched looking can after emptied.

The turtle was really interesting to see. Strangely I didn't expect it to look so real. You were soaked at the end. 😆😟 A bummer as you always make such gorgeous fires. You deserved to just get to enjoy it.

that’s not much turtle and a lot of broth, that turtle died for nothing. This is extremely interesting and I didn’t know that you can’t own the feathers of an endangered bird even if you had them before. I love your old can opener, I want one for my own Apartment! Preferably 1950s mint green

The only people who can possess eagle feathers are Native Americans, who use them in sacred ceremonies. Otherwise, you cannot, even if someone gives them to you, or you find them in an attic somewhere. If you ever do find some, you can entrust them to a Native American elder, who can pass them on to the proper people.

I had turtle soup in Wilmington, Delaware in 1977. It was served with a dollop of sour cream on top and a little bit of sherry poured over it. It wasn't sea turtle though it was the turtle from the ponds around Wilmington country club

Post I think there would be less chance of damage to these historic cans and labels if you would use a hand crank can opener, also you can better keep the can level while opening hopefully not spilling any liquid. Anyway I love your content!

I have an electric can opener that holds the can from the top, and cuts the glue seamline on the can. The end result is both a can and a lid that are not sharp, and the lid can actually be put back on the can.

You should use a p38 can opener on cans like that, it will keep from damaging the can the p51 can opener is the larger of the military can openers
