Basically it proved that just about all animals have the ability to count at least a bit. 1 constant performance for the actors at these things is they have to repeat the same stories over and over and over and over and over again. 20 years ago, 10 years ago 5 years ago 1 year ago to present, the same answers to the same questions. @@lonelocustoftheapocalypse3700 That comment right here is my experience of cats condensed into a short and very telling sentence. You have my empathy because it obviously comes from long suffering experience.
It is amazing on other UA-cam videos, Spiner does a “Spot On” imitation of Sir Patrick and of course, his appearances on “Night Court” were out of this World, Comedic. Spiner admitted that Stewart is quite annoyed with his imitation of his Voice. In fact, Spiner actually pranked Stewart’s wife on the phone, although she caught him at the end.
Why Spiner was never asked to host SNL is the biggest Crime in Acting and Comedic History.
His portrayal of “Data” on STNG are so 180 degrees different than his Real Life persona. Frankly, his name of “Data” should have been renamed into something more Imaginative.
God i recall ode to Spot...
That cat has seen some s**t.
I have a 15 pound orange tabby. He listens to me. Takes direction well. Runs the house is the boss over two other Burmese.
Maybe she was upset about being misgendered in the picard episode talking about "HER" to lore!
i can't believe he talked about the cats gender
Who? Spock?
Oh Spot...
I'm still upset they never green-lit my script:
Star Trek TNG III: The Search for Spot.
I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you, to learn that cats don't take direction well.
They're cats. They don't care. :D
Cats just doin’ what cats wanna do😂
Mr. Brent spider. I just wanted to let you know that I have a little kitten myself my mother. And I both share of her. She’s about seven or eight months old. And right now she’s going through a very bratty stage. For instance I live in a section 8 housing apartment it’s subsidized for handicap people. She was in the bathroom with me recently and there’s an emergency pull cord you have to pull in the event if you fall or get hurt. I specifically told my kitten not to pull the string what does she do. She does the complete opposite when I said no. She pulled in anyway. If spot was a terrible actor.. Then I bet she was a little brat. I’d like to. Tell you that I think Lieutenant Commander data was a wonderful character that you portrayed. My most favorite episode out of all of them when it came to #DATA. Was measure of a man and it dealt with peoples rights were more like #DATA‘s rights. I wish I could’ve served as your advocate or something. You know as far as #DATA is concerned. Just for the heck of it. I think it would’ve been fun. If I was dressed up in a Starfleet uniform if I was #DATA‘s. Representative I would’ve backed him up 100%#DATA had some very redeeming qualities that I had a great deal of respect for. Not to mention he was a hell of a Starfleet officer. And a best friend to all of the crew. You can’t get any better than that
He's a cat! It's what he does. It's his job to mess with you.
If you treat a cat like a pet, you're gonna have a bad time.
If you treat it like an equal, it'll be fine.
Before Star Trek ever had a cat named Spot. I had a cat named Spot. She was a tuxedo with a spot between her legs.
Hilarious ;-)
To boldly prowl, where no feline has prowled before.
Man it's been years and he still hasn't realised that "Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature" isn't supposed to be a question
Is there some problem with the mics? Audio is so bad I can't hear most of what he's saying.
Spot...KICKED ASS!!!! mainly, because, he/she, was, a, CAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spot on.
1. Spot
2. Dorn.......
Classic stand up comedy
There's a spot on his shirt oh that's just his cat😂😂
I hear Livingston took good direction and got every scene in the first take, unlike Spot.
I get it. I LOOOOVE my cat. She's the sweetest being in my solitary life. But if I had to WORK with my cat? JESUS CHRIST! Shoot me now! I'd rather be audited by the IRS.
Dogs work to please their master cats work to please themselves. I happen to know the cat team he is speaking of and they worked great on All their jobs.
Wait a minute! Why did they have to replicate the tin can for Spot’s tuna?
Can you imagine a tuna soft-serve machine? That sounds messy
Well not to jinx anything but this is the first video over a year old I've seen with 0 dislikes. Impressive. Edit: Oh well.
UA-cam stopped posting the thumbs-down counts quite a while ago. Not sure why.
@@serendipityshopnyc Oh no I know that. I have the extension that brings them back. This genuinely has 0 dislikes. Far as I know the extension is only for PC, but if you're interested it's called Return UA-cam Dislike.
Thought the Headline title was a typo that was supposed to read "Spok" whoops lol my bad
I met Brent At MegaCON Orlando!
Now i'm kinda curious about the "spots". And how long they lived after the show.
I'm really bummed out that in this season of Picard they didn't bring Data's daughter Lal back. She was awesome.
I think the way her story arc went they'd really have to shoehorn her into this season. They have set up her return in a potential show about the children of the TNG crew, but I'm not sure whether or not the showrunners are going to take the fan suggestions seriously.
@@MannyBrum I thought Lal "died" in the episode. Unless Data was able to revive her in some way, I don't see how she could be brought back.
Typical cats. They know, they just dont care. 😂 my boy is both lovable and frustrating.
Why they thought they could get a cat to follow directions..they do what they want. Want a cat to do something.. feed them. I've got 3 cats.. I know.
1 constant performance for the actors at these things is they have to repeat the same stories over and over and over and over and over again. 20 years ago, 10 years ago 5 years ago 1 year ago to present, the same answers to the same questions. The responses seldom vary. It is sad. Can go to 1 comic con/convention or watch 1 of these clips and you know in the next one, you will see the same things over and over again. Much like watching the same episode of the show over and over again. Rare will you ever glimpse dialog changes at these things. Fanatics don't care tho, they will eat it up like it is new every single time. 🙄
From the time I saw him on Night Court, I thought Brent Brilliant 🎉
What they should have done is write the script based on whatever Spot just did. If you want to train a cat, put a dog in a cat costume. I know this because I've had over two dozen over the years 😅
I worked very hard with my cats in training. That is until they got me to do exactly what they wanted. Did you know that if the world were flat, cats would have shoved us off the edge a long time ago.
"Ode to Spot" was an ode composed by Data, addressed to his pet cat, Spot. (TNG: "Schisms")
Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature,
An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature;
Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses
Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.
I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.
A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion,
It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.
O Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display
Connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.
This the greatest poem in the English language & never fails to make me cry
Funny that the same techniques worked better on Dorn than the cat.
I enjoyed him on Night court especially the episode that had him wanting to be a chicken farmer.
One of the 3 cats was an Abbyssinian. Orange, okay, buit not at all like the others, I mean in looks. But clearly like the others in behavior.
I named my calico cat after STNG’s Spot.
Cats are like Brando when the cameras are rolling. Hire a Capuchin Monkey instead, they can take direction and are naturally gifted at improvisation. Ask the people lucky enough to know a Capuchin, they'll tell you some stuff.
As a car wrangler in a couple of tv shows.....he is spot on.
heh
Brent Spiner wrangles cars?
be nice to Spot! :D Spot! Spot! Spot!
Based on Brent's comment, Spot was the real Star Trek Nemesis!
This is ironic considering it was supposedly his idea Data should have a cat in the first place.
Shame about the bad sound on this video. 😭 Only heard about half what was said. 😭
I have an uncle who looks like Brent Spiner. Yes, we call him Data sometimes.
Dogs will do things to please their owners. Cats do things to please themselves!
Dogs have 'owners'. Cats have 'domestic staff'.
@@tanall5959 Nice one!
Freaking cat ladies...his thoughts
Cats aren't bad actors, they don't act like anything else but a cat. So, not bad acting, bad writing to expect a cat to do anything other than BE a cat.
<
: - }
That is bad acting
That's Lore, not Brent!!
