These Star Trek TNG actors appeared in the hit television show that continued a century after Star Trek TOS left off. While they have moved on to other projects, they forever remain the crew of the Enterprise D (and E).
Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker) is still involved in the franchise as a director of several episodes of Star Trek Discovery and will be involved in the untitled Picard continuation.
Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi) continues to wow fans with appearances in DC Universe’s Titans and FOX’s The Orville. She is also known for her voice role in Gargoyles.
Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data) has appeared in shows such as Outcast, The Goldbergs and voices characters such as the Riddler in Justice League action and more.
Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) has guest starred on NCIS and had recurring roles since TNG ended in shows such as Mad About You and Franklin & Bash.
Wil Wheaton (Ensign Wesley Crusher) has appeared as himself on The Big Bang Theory in many episodes, had a recurring role in SyFy’s Dark Matter, and voiced characters such as Aqualad and the Flash in the DC Animated Universe.

What I love is Marina is all snarky about not getting to talk, and Brent just logs her comment, puts it in his back pocket KNOWING that he's gonna bring it back out right when the next question comes. And knowing that Marina would appreciate the humor.

Johnathon Frakes has the best personality out of any actor I've seen . So much spirit and a great sense of fun and even a twinkle of mischief in his eyes . I love and admire this man.

I agree, and yet I felt his character in the first season was just the opposite, very stiff. All those frozen poses, legs apart, arms stiff extended from his body. It looked like he had a stick up his rear. Maybe it was the direction that was to blame, but I'm so glad he was able to let his own personality shine through after that 1st season.

@@stevet7487 I think a lot of Riker's posture AND his moodiness was due to the original costume, which Jonathan Frakes absolutely hated wearing, and was so uncomfortable that it gave all the actors back ache. So maybe it wasn't Riker's beard that saved the show, it was the two-piece costumes.

I was thinking the same - for ‘2019’ but sadly by the time of Season 3 Picard she tipped the scales in the wrong direction with too much filler and work around her mouth. Such a shame, as like you say, just 3-4 years before she had still preserved that beauty.

    • @ah7910
      @ah7910 Місяць тому +2

@@mickhasthefacts8632 Marina (always comes across so miserable and snarky) was sadly playing around with her face as far back as Season 6/7 of TNG, getting some strange procedure to her lips. It’s been downhill since then. I genuinely think a bit of botox, a subtle facelift in your late 40s/50s or a jawline lift and keeping your weight down is all a person needs to stay looking young into their 60s. All these cheap and lazy derma fillers are literally morphing and disfiguring celebrities faces.

The closeness of the cast is obvious and it came through every week on the show. It is no wonder that we still love the show even after all these years and through multiple viewings.

I was born 1960 and one of my fondest childhood memory is Saturday late afternoon, all of us kids having had our bath and assembling on the couch to watch Stratrek at 6 pm. The love for Startrek has stayed over the years and my love for si-fi alltogether. I still appreciate so much the moral codex to work and exist together no matter how alien a creature or culture may be. Communicate and try to understand and appreciate each other not fight. Startrek was in a way (along with loving parents) giving me a moral compass, which I still live by.

Wil Wheaton is such a great speaker. Brent Spiner is like that in real life. I met him a few times and actually had dinner with him once. Everything that comes out of his mouth is sarcastic jokes. Hilarious guy. I said hi to Majel Barrett at a Trek convention back in the day and got her autograph. She was obviously very friendly to everyone. Finally, on an Amtrak train from Connecticut to Washington DC, we sat across from Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters. Whoopi was very nice and we chatted for a couple minutes. Barbara however, wasn’t friendly at all and wouldn’t even look us in the face. Lol.

Im a huge fan. That was the first convention I watched all the way thru, and I have to say it's enjoyable getting to know the actors in relation to the characters. I imagine we all like either the character or actor more, but Im betting we are all pleasantly surprised in the end how that reveals itself to us? I know I am.
Example: I didnt care for Wesley Crusher too much, but I really like Will Wheaton. Same for Trois and Marina Sirtis. In actor's terms thats a compliment, right? They like to be loved or hated, it means they reached us emotionally. Its when we are'nt moved either way they feel like maybe they didnt succeed in convincing us with the character. Thank you for posting.🖖🏼

Marina (half?) jokingly complaining about not getting to talk as much due to Wil being on the panel. And I'm thinking back to, who specifically told Wil to answer the very first question...?

I found Marina's reaction to finding out there was a moderator quite humorous. She is known for asking that there not be a moderator. But this female moderator was having none of it. She was staying.

Marina and Johnathan act like a married couple in real life too; brilliant
Also, Gargoyles is in my like Top 5 cartoons of all time. The show has some serious heavy hitters: Jonathan Rhys Davies, Keith David, Johanthan Frakes, Marita Sirtis, Frank Welker. Like DAMN
ALSO, Frakes' wave goodbye was live long and prosper; subtle but fitting

To add to the list of essential reading: Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. 36 stand alone novels that still somehow manage to be intertwined, while messing with preconceptions of story and character in totally unexpected ways. No other series has a six foot six dwarf, a wizard incapable of magic, a benign tyrant who administers the occasional light shower of terror, a pantheon of more than 3000 gods (with more being discovered by research theologians)..The list goes one. My personal favourite is the agoraphobic bogeyman; he's fine at the hiding in a cupboard or under the bed, but too scared to actually jump out and scare people. :D

I usually don't watch these panel shows because the few I did click on had such bad audio. This video had great audio--or I have a better speaker--and I enjoyed it.

@@FandomSpotlite good to know. I have no idea what other channels I watched that had such poor audio. I haven't watched one in ages because I got nothing from them. This one was good. It might be my speaker, too, as I mentioned above, which is far superior than the one in my laptop. Whatever. I enjoyed this video.

Glad you enjoyed it. Usually, we hook into the audio system at the con. A lot of people who record panels either use their phone from their seat or use camera audio, which is generally horrible. We try to get the best audio possible.

As much as I really disliked the Wesley Crusher character in ST:TNG while I was watching the show while growing up, I really do like Wil Wheaton as a person & feel he really is quite an amazing & articulate speaker. Love all the cast members, & this was definitely a fantastic & highly entertaining panel. Hope to someday meet the actors & actresses at such a live event myself!

So I'm assuming this reunion was before they all agreed to be in Picard Season 3 (excluding Wil Wheaton)? I still think Wesley Crusher should've made an appearance in Season 3 since his mother, Beverly Crusher, was such a huge part of it..

I would like to bring your attention to the video title, which includes the year 2019. 😉 And I think Wil, as a major part of the story, would have distracted from the Jack thing. But having him show up in the end scene telling Q to leave his little brother alone would have been great.
