Great tips and information here. Thanks so much. Will practise these. I down climb on every route. I traverse if I can't reach the holds on the original route, and use more difficult foot/hand holds to get used to those. I hate the sensation of jumping down. 😏 Edit. My local climbing gym is very small and usually packed in the evenings. I'll go during weekdays when it's not so busy when doing the traversing drill.
Coincidentally I have been focusing a lot on slabs in my training today, but I still couldn't overcome the fear when standing on a tiny foothold and that my face is going to grind against the wall if I slipped... thanks for the video!
Slab is certainly a challenging mental game - I totally get that and it's still a struggle I'm working on. Something I've been testing that might help you too - I try to recreate the movement I'm struggling with while I'm are closer to the ground. Then when I'm up higher I tend to have more confidence. Good luck and keep up the hard work!
Do you have more tips for climbing on slabs? Please share in the comments!
try incorporating the slack-line into your training. the absolute best thing for balance, and a nice break for your fore-arms.
this was so dope! most people would say "just climb more" - love seeing a methodical approach/breakdown!!!
I’m glad you liked it, thank you sooo much?

Awesome video can we take a minute to appreciate the transverse wall …. Who knew hold art was a thing
Haha, right! I love those Dino holds and flower art :)
I know that routine -- find the kids' room to practice traversing. :D
The kids room is so great for traversing! Ever since I figured that out, traversing has gotten soooo much more attention from me :)
