Yeah, the cleaners is still open and that station is a museum now. The blond is character actress Eva Brent who had a long working career. Regina Gleason is a stunner. The actor playing the hit man nails it. And Dan Matthews is very smart here.
9:34 Another thing you don't see anymore is the metal foil tape on the glass doors of the dry cleaners. That was the burglar alarm sensor that carried a current that would be broken if the glass was broken after hours. I remember as a kid every storefront had them on the doors and glass windows.
My married last name is Massingill spelled with an “I”. His folks were from east Texas. There’s some post cards with a picture of an old cabinet that a Massingill built that is still standing. 😊
as a former Army journalist, I was surprised but pleased Crawford served on American Forces Radio, AFN,. the lifeline for me when I was stationed in Germany
I live in the San Fernando Valley. It is great to see Chatsworth as it was in the 1950s. It's not like that anymore, although there is a Chatsworth station again now thanks to Metrolink and Amtrak.
The brunette in the dry cleaner also acted in another episode of Highway Patrol where she played the accomplice of a vengeful escaped convict. She looks a little like Ava Gardner.
We lived in a condo on James Alan Circle, one of the first families to move in back in the early '70's. Hard to believe those condos are now 50 years old!

I like the way this show used real backdrops of small California towns. I'd have loved to see it, then, but I had the green of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the beauty of Rio de Janeiro, and the mountains surrounding Guanabara Bay.
Even if his prints are not on file, he should not leave prints at scenes. If someone sees him or he is found near a scene, obviously his prints can be matched. He also should have gotten a train schedule wben he arrived, so he would know departure times. No sense having to hang around at or near the station for a long time after doing 2 murders.......

Hertz did offer Shelby Mustangs in the mid '60s, and I remember in the '80s a company called Rent-a-Wreck offering a pretty motley fleet.
Interesting /informative/entertaining. Realistically portrayed citizens/criminals/law enforcement officials... Enjoy store fronts/cars/police communications equipment of that era-!!!🤗. Remember Uncle Broderick from other acting performances.
Actually they rusted out pretty quickly and by the time you put 60,000 miles on it you started thinking trade in. Cars today are far, far superior to those. BTW, I'm 70 and remember those cars well.

No it was a 57 Monterey. My dad bought a 57 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, it had a big honking 425 v8. It was the type used by several state police. He bought it in 62. It had dual headlights. I drove it in 63 when I got my license. Dang thing would fly!

I know it's only nostalgia, but I sure am glad I grew up in the valley in the 50's and 60's it's good to see the old neighborhood again!

This seems to be one of the only episodes that they didn't make up a phony name for the town. (I guess Chatsworth sounded generic enough)

When I was a boy rest stops were one or twn picknik tables on a small flat spot right next to the road, usually under some shady trees.

Yep, "Rent-a-Wreck" was up here in Canada also. Rented all kinds of cars from them when my insurance doubled after my second impaired.
