Got a P0235 error code (turbocharger boost pressure sensor) and P1525 (comes up due to the first code) on my 2.0 dci Qashqai. No drop in performance, acceleration, etc, no shuddering. RAC checked it and isolated it to the MAP sensor and said it’s almost certainly just a faulty MAP sensor. Would you agree? Took it to an independent garage and they want it back in for a few days next week as they say they need to do lots of tests as it could be a number of things such as air pressure leak for starters, but that it could also be a faulty sensor. Given it drives fine (200 miles since it first came up, including m-way trips) would you agree it’s likely just a faulty sensor? And maybe I should ask for it to be changed first as it could get expensive, stripping parts down (so said the garage). Garage had no idea how much a new sensor would be either (found that strange) - I’ve seen it for between £16 and £38 on various car part sites.
Sounds like they are milking you for parts and labour. Any indie garage can read faults and test sensors with a multimeter where possible. Map sensor is a very easy test with a multimeter. Suggest you do what i did and get a amazon code reader, multimeter and do some Googling/youtube on the error code. Buy genuine sensors not cheap ebay ones as you could be back stage 1.
I have a 1.5 dci qashqai, after spraying lots of carb cleaner into air intake I think I doused the maf. I am experiencing hesitation when cruising. Would you say I need a new maf or a clean? Thank you!
@@fiveminuteman po472 po470 p1453 But I had a scanner on before this warning light when this intermittent misfire (only when cruising) was happening and it shows no fault codes. The mileage is 130k miles 1.5dci qashqai 2014 Thank you very much for you help. Appreciate it as I been trying to sort this for ages.
I really like your videos. also have the same qashqai. you can remove the agr valve once. don't know where it sits. Please make a short video about it.
I was tempted to remove our egr valve but i understand it has the colling system running through it to preheat or something. Probably going to leave it alone unless we get a fault crop up👍
it is not advised to use contact cleaner on MAF. (or carb cleaner, or wd40, or any other product not specifically designed for this job). Contact cleaner is designed to leave a small amount of greasy residue in order to protect the electrical contacts of corrosion after cleaning. If you want to clean the MAF, use special MAF cleaner, you can find it by google search or at any local car-parts store. It is specially designed to not leave any residue. It is advised to do this procedure after every air filter change.
Electrical contact cleaner is fine and i have used it for over 20 years with no adverse problems. What you cant use is brake cleaner as that will damage electrical components.
@fiveminuteman the cleaning helped yes mate ?. I've got maf coeaner in shed I can use cheers hive it a whirl I've survived it and put new glow plugs in cleaned dpf insitu . So just tyomg up loose ends trying to get her quick on pulling away ..similar to your issue ..

What codes do you get? Could be maf, map, egr or dpf. What's the mileage?

@@fiveminuteman too bad, i thought precaution is appropriate there based on the deposits. After 253.000Km ...
@fiveminuteman crimp the coolant lines ..remove ciran replace uncrimp ..I'd use clamp pliers with card or something
