- In tonights LA Kings vs Montreal Canadiens game, we saw history! Coming off a thrilling Drew Doughty overtime win against Columbus, the Kings had an opportunity to make NHL history tonight becoming the first team to ever win the first 11 road games to start a season. A dominating game with Doughty scoring, Byfield netting a pair, Talbot getting a shutout and Moore along with Kopitar extending their streaks, the Kings did just that! I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

Surprising how no one really seems to talk about LA. Everything from their record to their underlying numbers show how dominant of a team they are. They’re not even a boring team to watch either. So many electric players and a high octane offense makes every game exciting. This team is poised for a deep playoff run.
I've been a Kings fan since the Gretzky days and I am so impressed with what Robitaille and Blake have done to build champion teams. This particular setup is especially awesome. Go Kings Go!!!

The possibility of a Kings vs Rangers SCF is looking more and more possible by the day. It’d be sorta poetic as in 2014 Talbot was the backup for the Rangers and is now LA’s starter while Quick was LA’s starter and is now the Rangers backup.

Ive been a Kings fan for 30+ years, the only time I saw a team more cohesive than this was April-June 2012. Their passing is next level, everyone is on the same page, its fun to watch.

@@boredperson8x saying names instead of stats means nothing. 2012 we finished 13th in the league in regular season, and we sure didn’t have the 2nd best PK or the best defense in the league like we do this year. This is a deeper more skilled team than our 2012 and 2014 teams.

Honestly, the scariest thing about the kings is they do not give you the middle of the ice, ever. They play such a solid team D strategy as well, it means their goalis just need to be solid taking shots from outside the house all game. I aways hate playing the kings beucase they just seem to always play as a tight knit squad game in and game out.

As someone who was a fan of Talbot while he was with the Wild, good to see him thriving with another team. Also very happy with Gus Bus possibly part of the longterm future, would never have imagined the possibility of the Flower retiring as a Wild player, and the bright future with the absolute Brick Wall that is Jesper.
Been a fan of Talbot since his days in NY when he was King Heinrik's back-up. After many recent struggles and setbacks, I'm glad to see him thriving and returning to peak form. I may be an Avs fan, but if he gets to hold a Cup over his head next year, I'll be happy for him :)

Glad to see the Kings getting the recognition they deserve. Haven’t seen a video on them since the Quick trade. Nowadays everybody’s talking about Bedard the Canucks or making fun of the Sharks and the Oilers.
As a kings fan we never get talked about by any media because 1. We aren’t a Canadian team 2. We are on the west coast and in California and 3. These hockey people only care about eastern teams unless you’re from Canada or Vegas.

I mean he hasn’t been terrible like some people making him out to be but im just hoping once some guys start cooling off that’s where he steps up. There’s just so many pieces to where a couple guys can be in the background and we’ll still be dominant.
Considering he’s a third line C, he’s top 10 in points on the Kings and the only guys ahead of him are top 6 players and Doughty. He only gets about 30 second on the second PP as well. Hes doing just fine for a third line C.

As a Ducks fan I hate their guts. But as an NHL fan I respect what they have done and hope my Ducks can eventually get to that point (and not just have a winning streak that is followed up by an 8-game losing streak)
I think the kings have really shown why you shouldn’t give up on players to early because byfield is having a great start to the year for a guy people were calling a bust
Weird to see LA close to the top. Been a while (Kings fan since the 70s). The silver hats look great. And Arvidsson is coming back soon. If he can slide in somewhere without disrupting this magic, the Kings will be tough to beat.

A lot of Oiler fans are hating this right now. As Edmonton are the predicted cup champions according to everyone. Ngl, I'm excited to see an oiler and Kings series once again this season. As the Oilers are on a tear and will surely make the playoffs, guaranteed.

Hard to believe they have won 11 straight road games. Even those great Canadian teams of the seventies were not able to do that.
Detroit had a 15 game undefeated road streak from the start of the 1951-52 season (all games ending in regulation time, of course). So LA would need to win or take an OT loss for their next 4 road games in order to equal that record (5 to break it).
How many teams were there back then? Im sure not even half of the amount of teams there is now there's a reason those records arent taken into account today.

My point is, if LA were playing under the old system, they would now have (as per the above table) a combination of 11 green (win) and white (tie) results. Now, under the current system (with regular season OT), how many of those whites would the 51-52 Wings have converted to greens, as LA has done? Impossible to know! But if LA wants to claim that their streak is absolutely better than that of the 51-52 Wings, they will need to win or take an OT-loss for their next 5 games. If they can do that, then their dominance of the "start-of-season" record will be undisputed. If not, they will always carry an asterisk against the 51-52 Wings, who went "undefeated" for 15 straight games, but never had the opportunity that LA has to convert their "ties" to "wins".

Guy got his numbers wrong. For the season, they are not even averaging 4 goals a game. 89 goals through first 23 games. That is very impressive, just not sure why video mentions they are averaging almost 5 goals a game.
