    Why bash the civic in the title while showing a new one? It’s a great car but the title makes you sound like consumer reports, just trying to get views and likes. Keep it real and honest (in the title too) and your reviews will be good and respected. I know your a Honda guy so I was curious why your video title makes it seem you were bashing the new civic, but your not.

      Mazda SKYACTIV vehicles are very reliable. When I was working in Automotive repair I had 4 high milage CX-5s that came in, with over 200,000 miles on them. Engines sounded great and ran smoothly, interior was good. All the owners noted they had to replace their breaks a bit earlier than expected but that's a small price to pay for the rest of the car being reliable.

      Change your oil regularly, use high quality oil. Motul or something like Mobil1 or Castrol. Polish and apply a nice coat of wax or ceramic coating. I owned a 2000 Civic Si new ages ago, after 4 years, the paint was so dull with clear coat chipping. I sold it to a friend and he had it for over 10 years and the paint was pretty bad, but the DOHC b16 8000rpm smile machine was running just fine. Call it a midlife crisis but I'm looking for a Civic with the 2.0NA manual, something comfortable and I can row my own gears. Si is too stiff for my liking on New England roads.

      I know this is an old comment, Korean cars cut corners. Their oil pump and ports are weak and small, causing oil starvation. If the oil isn't religiously changed on schedule, gunk will block those small ports. They also have plastic inside, forgot for what, maybe a timing guild, or valve guide, plastic can only heat cycle so much before it gets brittle. Some guy did an engine break down on one of their engines.

    • @DroneStrike1776
      @DroneStrike1776 Рік тому

      @@darkmajnissgdi engines are poorly made. Make sure you change your oil regularly to prevent buildup. Run a fuel treatment like Seafoam because gdi are known for carbon deposits. Carbon deposited all over your valves and pistons will drop in mpg and power.

    Worst year be 2001 - 2006 takata airbags and '01 Civics had transmission problems with other Honda models. The 2016 models had problems forgot which issues think was software issue older Honda models as Accords 01-02 had transmission failures and 08 Accords had excessive oil consumption - premature brake wear. Hondas are reliable cars most models are average or below average. I would avoid buying 01-06 Civics Honda never put a bulletin on airbag recalls as few people were injured and few deaths. The 2016 Civics had issues for the first model year. I'd recommend 2012-13 models they seem good though saw a 2013 or 2014 not long ago with paint rust was shocked couldn't believe was first one with minor paint rust but very reliable than earlier models guess 2016-19 are below average.

    2014 Honda CRV here, surprised how much better their reputation is than their product. First week sun roof leaked, awful NVH qualities, paint not holding up, stater has grinded since new, uncomfortable seats and only about 2mpg’s better than my F150 in town. A 1 hour trip is torture. It’s paid for is all I can say that’s good! If we buy another small SUV, after years of owning a Honda CRV, they will not be under consideration, right now thinking new Escape or RAV, my 2017 Ford F-150 has in every way been a pleasant surprise, maybe their lil SUV’s are great too.

The 2018-up Accord with that same engine has not been affected though. Honda claims that it only occurred in cold weather climates and the engine not being warmed up properly, but I've heard stories that some consumers had that similar issue in places like California and Texas as well. People tend to push there cars like race cars ,and they dont last even some of these muscle cars they just floor it all the time then wonder why the car doesnt last. Also dorgetting to do there maintenance a simple oil change goes a long way.

    2001 ? ? ? We are almost into 2024 ... that means anyone buying one of these today would be buying a car that is 23 years old. Any car this old is too old to be practical .as any car 25 years old is designated "antique".

      I would much rather have a CR-V over an HR-V. I have a 2020 CR-V and I love it. Yes the CR-V is a few grand more than a HR-V but the CR-V is much more comfortable, roomier, quieter, has more power, and the fuel economy is not that much different from the HR-V. There's really only a 2-3 mpg difference between the two. But if you must have a subcompact CUV, the Hyundai Kona, Subaru Crosstrek, or Mazda CX-30 are probably better choices.

    Had two older Civics (2006 coupe and 1998 sedan), both had manual transmissions and they were great.
    Almost bought a new hatchback model, but it was way too ugly. I just couldn't get over the tacky faux plastic "flair" all over the back. Looked like a cheap aftermarket body kit.
