Thanks for the honest look at this release! I remember trying to play the original as a wee kiddo and getting stuck within the first hour or so. Of course, I grew up in the era of graphic adventure games, and really didn't understand how to work a text command game.
The automap really is brilliant, it's so well drawn with all those connecting passages and being able to see where you dropped items. Did you have trouble with the lantern running out or ending the game?
Great review! I love point-and-click games, but to be honest, this looks kind of "meh" for a normal PC game in 2023. Looks aren't everything, but I am glad you mentioned near the end (at 10:10) that it is coming out to the Oculus/Meta Quest 2 as a VR game, which will definitely be how I will experience it, if I do. I'm more forgiving of graphics if the immersion is good.
Because it's the game that got her inspired to make her own games and create Sierra On-line together with Ken in the first place. She's said so in other many other interviews for this game.
MetalJesus interviews these 2 a few times. Type 'metaljesus sierra flashback with Ken and robert' Worth watching the first about their time in sierra - must watch as an adventure fan. Later interviews are about this game. Answer it was middle of Pandy, Ken finished a book and they wanted a project
I didn't do that my first few playthroughs. I just dropped everything all over. This is the kinda game where you miss things on the first and second playthrough
This was pointed out to me by someone else on Twitter and so I went back in to see. The reason I didn’t know is because at the start it gives you the option to ‘start with instructions’. I said no. If you select no it completely skips the text at the start.
Great review... XYZZY !!! 😊

Yes the map is a life saver! I had to look at an old school walk through to finish.
@@YakWaxLips Yup me too, otherwise I'd have been left wandering the cave thinking what do I do now?!

Good review! I wonder why Roberta decided to recreate this title from such wide catalogue of games.
