- Is now the right time to buy a Porsche 911 991 Turbo (S)? If you are asking yourself that question, then this is the video to watch. In this buying and depreciation guide of the Turbo / Turbo S, I’m showing you the full depreciation curve and the depreciation per year and per 1000 miles driven. Furthermore, I show what the forecasted values are and how you can find the best deals in the market. On top of that all, you will also see how the numbers compare to the competitors like the Mercedes Benz AMG GT S.

Porsche 911 Carrera S depreciation analysis: • Why you should go for ...
The video is structured in a top-down way. That means that we first have a look at the full market and some general price. After this, we will dive into the details.
Specifically, this means that the video for the Porsche Turbo is split into a few parts. In the first part, we will have a quick look at some average numbers. In the second part, we will figure out the depreciation per year and we will split this depreciation curve between the 991.1 and 991.2. Also, we will have a look the to the difference between the Turbo and Turbo S. From this, it becomes clear that the initial premium which you pay for a Turbo S fades away when the car ages. In the third part, we will also have a look at the depreciation per 1000 miles driven. This is namely, together with the model year, a key input for the forecasted values. The video continues then with the forecasted values and comparison of the depreciation numbers to some other cars. Finally, I will show you how you can find the best deals in the market and what some of these deals are.
P.S the lightning was pretty bad in the video, working on a better solution.

*Which car would you like to see analysed next?*
Amg gtr
BMW M4
Maybe a stupid thought, but how about exclusive/exotic cars and their value during the changing economic crisis? It would be cool to see what the market outside of cars has for an effect on limited edition cars.
How about Bentley Continental GTs.?
Toyota supra 2020 launched edition
As always, a very informative video. Interesting to see the curves come together at the end for 991.1 & 991.2
True, many people don't believe this if you don't show them the data,
THANK YOU. You make splurging on an exotic car a much easier decision, with these data driven insights 👍🏽
Thank you for your fantastic videos. I have just purchased a 2014 991 Turbo S. CPO from Porsche with 9200 miles on it. Fully loaded with options and over $80k off sticker price. Time to run it up to 35k miles as my daily driver and then sell. Interesting to see how it does.
Good stuff! What was the sticker price?
This channel is really valuable, thanks for breaking down these analysis! Awesome :) Keep it up man!
You should also add one metric that affects most of this data; relative change in buying power for the porshe and high end car buying demographic
I need to rewatch the 997 video
Well I just bought a Porsche CPO 2014 Turbo S with 15000 miles for 90K off MSRP based on this video. Hope to keep most of my investment based on your analysis. Cheers!
Congrats!
Awesome video with details that are extremely helpful. Thanks for your work.
Can you redo the 991.1 Turbo factoring current market trends?
Can you please do C63s and also F80 M3/M4 next?
A comparison would be interesting!
Great work sir!!! Always helpful.
Great analysis. Can you explain the depreciation effect of the new generation being released. Turbos are being priced as if the next generation have not be out yet!
Supply of the new turbo might be limited due to the pandamic. In general, the effect which a new generation has depends very much on the perceived upgrade for that generation. Usually, the larger the upgrade the larger the price effect.
Hi, I really like the video you did on the 997 turbo. I always watch you on youtube as I find you analysis really informative. I have a silver 997.2 2011 manual coupe with 18000 kmh. The car is in mint condition with service history form Porsche. I would love to know what she is worth. Please advise.
Thank you Sir!!
How about the Ferrari 488 and 488 spiders please. Ps love your work always click like.
My thinking is that miles don't matter as much for Porsche vs other marques. My expectations of a 150,000 mile Porsche turbo is a car with visible road rash and wear marks in the interior. Maintenance will be manageable though. Can you say that for a a McLaren, Aston Martin or Lamborghini?
I think the Huracans are solid cars that will be getting up there in terms of millage, the other two I am not sure. Although the new Aston's are using MB engines if I am not mistaken so they may get up there too. In general all cars are getting way more reliable these days and that is starting to include exotics, awesome stuff indeed!
It depends also very much on the Porsche model your are looking at. There is a huge difference in the mileage sensitivty between the normal and the GT products.
Colour and Spec history condition and previous owners not mentioned much here? Certain colour and specs add many thousands to the price of a used 991 Turbo almost regardless of miles ?
Do a video on cars that don't depreciate
Hello, I really enjoy these videos. Your methodology and explanations are exceptional. Would you be able to do a video on depreciation for the various generations of Miata? NA, NB, NC1/C2/C3, ND1, ND2? I have found that 2016 (ND1) Miatas seem to have significant depreciation (relative to for example the NC3) in my market, but without use of a consistent statistical methodology I'm unable to verify this anecdotal evidence and compare it to other generations of the car.
I'm not too familiar with the miatas but im sure it's possible to do an analysis on them.
No need for a Mazda Miata depreciation video, since you can get a new one for 1.3 years of depreciation of a Porsche Turbo. And I pretty sure the fun driving it is pretty similar. (Of course not as quick)
Awesomeeeee video
Can you provide the link to Ralph Motors for that water damage turbo s ?
LOL I just checked on the marketplace and my car that I've had 3.5 years and 43k km now has only dropped about $7K if the market is any indicator.
I was way wrong, I guessed gwagon because the 2020 values were really high. I guess both gwagon and 911 just got refreshed lol
The graph i posted was not for the Turbo :) . The video belonging to that graph will go live next week.
Can you Mercedes Benz gle coupe
This is awesome content!! Can we see the E46 & E92 M3 please ?
Agree
Good suggestion, thanks!
Fourwheel Trader - Car depreciation analysis if you do e46 m3s, pls for the 6MT. There’s a huge price discrepancy between smg & manual
Bmw M4 please!!
Thanks for the suggestion! I will do my best to cover some German saloon power in the upcoming weeks.
Let's see how this pandemic affects resale in the next few months!
That indeed will be an interesting development to follow.
The effect is likely a downward shift in the prices as the pandemic effect results in demand destruction I bet
Can you tell me when the (projected) best time would be to buy a 991.1 GT3rs? Obviously there's the pandemic now, but i assume that's just going to create a sharp drop in curvature but then go back to the same curvature pattern as before right...? I'm trying to convince my wife to go for a 991.1 GT3rs over a 991.1 GT3 and base 991.1 Carrera xD
I would need to analyse the GT3 RS to say something about that. Without a doubt the GT3 RS will be featured in a video at some point.
@@fourwheeltrader Love the channel, you're doing an excellent job, learned a lot! (I own a 2019 Ford F150 Raptor btw, it was funny to see your video on my car and surprising about the mileage depreciation score!
Next car is the s63 benz year 2012.
Ferrari F12
