This report is skewed. Most health care employers require nursing staff to renew their BLS certification every 2 years.

Glad I don’t live in Florida and a CPR certified MA RN. Given the older profile of people living in FL this seems to be complete medical neglect!

How tf do you become a nurse but don’t know CPR 😂🤦‍♂️
Construction workers out here with more medical certification.

    When did that change?
I am a Retired RN and I had to be CPR certified for adult and child every 2 yrs.
My daughter is a PCT and she has to be CPR certified. That's insane.

Are they talking about Nurses, or Nursing Aids?

Based on my experience with nursing homes, most of the help is sub par with 1 nurse "know it all" running things.

I’m a Florida nurse and I had to get certified in school so I don’t know what this was about. I went to a private college maybe that’s why?

As a Florida nurse , we have to be certified and renew every 2 years. It's on each person to renew. This is a lie and FL does require CPR certification to become any nurse

Complete bs. It's a money grab. Once you learn CPR, the procedure of congestion to breath didn't change. Once you learn it. You have that skill for life. I took the class 30 years ago and nothing has changed. They change the number of breath to compression numbers g to keep the money coming in. I've saved two lives by using the same technique I learned 30 years ago.

Duh not all nurses are at the bedside. This is a stupid story! Again, this is just a way Micro manage nurses. That’s a HR and management problem!!! Not the nurses fault!!! I’m a remote nurse for an insurance company!

It's gotta be Diisantis and his ridiculous laws. Medical students are given an oath but Diisantis says, screw the oath, only use your education on people you want to. He made it a law!! That goes against everything anyone in medical education is taught. I was in nursing school and taught that life is the utmost goal and we are to help as public servants. I wonder if they are required to contact the court for any felonies going on. Probably not, it may also be the"do what you want on who you want" by Diisantis.
