Thomas, can you if you haven't already. Do a compilation of all legendary weapons and one with all legendary wearables (clothing, armor & accessories)? If you've already done so, do you have a link you can post please 🙂? Thank you and keep up the good works 👍
It took me a moment to realize the "you've discovered" text wasn't part of the game. Those were cool to see and helped keep track of the various locations. Plus, the names were often really funny. Great job!!!
Given the close proximity to the dunwich borrers, the Brahmin in the 1st floor could be a reference to the HP lovecraft book “dunwich horror” where one of the main characters feeds cows to a creature he is keeping on the 1st floor in his house.
I think somebody did the math and more or less checked out. Like considering most stuff, but lights, being fed by the generator got destroyed and no longer used power and how little power fluorescent lights used compared to moving something that lands at about half a tonne in the lighter end it more or less makes sense that FCs don't last that long in PA. Also, many places have multiple generators even when we only get to loot one.
I know it's for game balance. But I'd say it makes perfect sense from a lore and engineering point of view. Remember that power armour was still relatively new technology in 2077. New technology is always lacking efficiency. Look at the internal combustion engine in its first 15/20 years. The fusion generators are really common across the game. They seem an established and common technology. Going back to engineering. They are huge compared to power armour suits and technology tends to gain efficiency in orders of magnitude based on size (think of the efficiency of a train Vs a car). Which brings me to.... The bit of the power armour that's the power converter is tiny. It's a small part of the back of the pa. So yeh. Put all that with the point above that the generators have barely been powering anything the last 200 years. It makes sense. There's a bonus theory. That the generators constantly refresh the core somehow. Which would mean you should be able to plug a part used core back in to be refilled. But I imagine that was asking a bit much of the game 😂
You mentioned how you wished you could find a ghoul in a "solo" bomb shelter, and that reminded me of the one where you can find when you're sent to clear out an area just north of the police station the BoS were holed up in during one of their side quests
I don't know what my level was when I first found that door, but it must have been pretty low since I must have been killed about 20 times before winning the battle, then I had the rads to encounter. Fun times.
Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but if you follow the road around the bend near the Milton General Hospital billboard 2:00 you'll find the only Pawlowski Preservation Shelter in the game that advertises OTHER goods.
31:32 ish It's definitely surprising just how big cargo ships are. I remember seeing a nautical lock on a summer vacation once, and there was a cargo ship going through it. It was so long that I couldn't even see the ends of the ship looking at it from ground level!
Pretty sure that fisherman at Covenant is actually just a random fisherman. Think theres a terminal entry about the covenant guards worrying about him being parked right on the compound entrance so they had to abort some runs there and were looking to maybe 'dispose' of him
They say he is a fisherman, but he has no fishing gear with him, no beer or fishing rod. He appears to be more a lookout until you get inside and hear what those folks think of him. But then I've done the same kind of thing IRL, just sitting near the water and enjoy the solitude.
@@edmartin875 Ed, while I appreciate your opinion and outlook, I'd make a recommendation to you. If you play again, or the next time that you do... while you are in Covenant if you read the restricted terminal it has an entry regarding the fisherman that you may find interesting.🙂 I do agree tho. Just seeing the scene, it doesn't look like he's prepared for fishing. And yeah, same here. I've just gone out and sat at the lake to take in the atmosphere and relax too. 🙂 👍
42:00 Indeed! Even though I'd watched a clip about the museum and knew what was waiting, the jumpscares still came. I was twitching in my chair and my internal monologue was just a seagull on psycho screeching.
Thomas Xplores - Cool video! I have been playing for over 4 years and admit, I haven't payed much attention to Salem. I learned some things from you today! Thank you! Where the man got chased up a pole, or tower of some sort, and the worm stuck around, waiting for him to come down. But the poor soul died of fright, and never came down!

@ThomasXplores id say it's up there with skyrim in terms of exploration and it's replay factor. No matter how much you play them, there is always something new that you missed in past play throughs.
Or Super Mutants, or Rust Devil robots or Scavengers or Raiders or Synths gen 1. And there is usually a fight going on or just finished with a survivor or two. I've found them all there over the years. If possible, I like to lure the Mirelurk Queen to enter the fight.
Those Sharkfins as you call them are actually Dolphins their tail flipper is flat and horizontal like a dolphins where a Sharks tail fin is flat and vertical.
2:16 The easiest way to get up there is to use a jetpack. I'm starting to get the feeling a lot of people that play this game don't even know that jetpacks are a thing based on all the videos that say "only why to get up here is" or "the easiest way to get up here is" and never once mention the use of a jetpack.
There is a late game way to get a jetpack for Power Armor in game but the only way that I know of to get one not for Power Armor is a mod, one of the only three mods I use (jetpack, p-99 10mm pistol, and glowing bodies after a fight).
I booted up my playthrough to follow along... first tank location didn't have a tank for me, and the fridge was a eye-bot station for finding items/ammo. Fun video!
I know there is a living ghoul in one of the Pulowski chambers - near DaimondCity/Goodneighbor in the large square with the ghoul infestation. The Brahmin makes me think it went upstairs and cows are notorious for not being able to go back down. Thinking it’s a reference to that.
It only just occurred to me how absurd it is that there are skeletons laying around... like, everywhere 200 years after the fact. Big fan of the long videos.

Oh, and I don't mean to sound mean or anything, just genuinely doesn’t make sense to me. (Love the videos, Thomas!)
Yes, I found this topic really interesting from many years ago! So a nuclear blast causes an EMP Burst, it's much more effective if detonated in high altitude, but a general ground blast can still cause one! So a Fusion Power Core can run a massive generator for 200+ years, but only works in Power Armor for a short time. Makes no sense.
