Persuading a guy like Joel takes a lot of work. Henry is smart but he is also incredibly resourceful. I love how they show why these survivors are survivors.
That guy that played Henry is such a great actor
great dancer too
You could really feel his anxiety across the screen.
@@andressarodrigues3286 immediately recognised him from the next step
@@jamessantos.mp4i knew i recognised him from somewhere! i just couldn’t figure it out 😭
Lamar Johnson
1:18 Ellie showing the puns book to Sam hahaha really sweet
Idk what it is, but when I see Pedro as Joel, it’s unmistakable. Dude embodies him perfectly in his physicality and demeanor
I don’t know why but I just don’t really see it as much as I could. I just don’t think he’s scary enough.
I think he did a great job, but I still don't see Joel. Still better than Ellie though, she wasn't even close.
I think they should’ve made him more savage and brutal like in the game but he’s definitely great for what they gave us
@@dantejordan4847 I get ya, but I think they wanted to portray an older and more real Joel. He’s nearing 60 in the show, whereas in the game he’s barley breaking 50. Plus, I don’t think him doing all the things he does in the game would realistically transfer to the show,
especially for a guy pushing 60.
I’m pretty sure the dude was like game Joel in his 40s, can’t even imagine how brutal the guy was
@@mactire6045 Ellie is completely different lookwise but her character is still there
Henry: I show the way, you clear the way.
Joel: This is the way.
Henry: What?
Joel: What?
This is the way
The writers should have definitely included that during this scene haha
This makes me laugh😅
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt compelled to say that
15 years those infected festered and grew in strength in the darkness.
Hard to believe you can drive those things anywhere, let alone underground.
Those things go for noise and warm bodies, makes me wonder how they succeeded in that.
Probably got some prisoners or other sacrifices as lures before bombing the shit out of them and collapsing tunnels and ditches when they flood in
In the second game during day 1 most of Seattles infected were in the subway system or in dark buildings sense that fungus hates the sun
It’s a depressing thought that the only people Henry ever killed were his own little brother and himself.
I like the switch from Pittsburgh to KC. Mostly because they use the real life highway layout around downtown to make them pinned in that area with little escape options.
I'm surprised no one has said:
*"This is the way."*
To the tv show team, thank you for getting so much about Kansas City right. The skyline in the background out the window. The actual freeway names & the fact downtown is surrounded on all sides by them. The props people getting the decals on the busses & emergency vehicles right. Aside from that freeway in the shot where railroad tracks should be this feels basically accurate. I don’t know much about maintenance tunnels under downtown but the city’s old enough there might be, and there are one or two left over from the original streetcar system. Although you didn’t film here I feel like KC was represented well…you know, aside from the whole post-apocalyptic facist government troops versus sadistic residents turned terrorists versus fungus-infected undead thing….😀
H'es such a great dad and I'm always scared he's gonna get infected or killed. great show so far
cmon guys dont spoil
Someone isnt a gamer
Dont worry...he lives happily ever after...played golf even
The show might go a bit different but yeah we might see it.
@@bizmofunyuns799 Yeah bro Joel and his best friend Abby.
Till now, I never really noticed how tall Joel is
he is 5ft10 or 178cm
game joel he over 200LB dude is built fr fr
well tbh i think pedro pascal is average height at 510 and the guy playing henry is just a short guy he's like not much taller than ellie lol
@@carlgrimes662 yeah game joel was built as fk he seemed around 6ft 6ft 1 to 6ft 2
@@lonewolf_0073 You're right. Troy Baker is 6ft3.
I just noticed a car driving on the freeway in the background
Could be patrol. He mentioned in the dialogue the city is filled with the resistance guys.
Sam being deaf is an interesting spin for his character.
Ep 4, Ellie indirectly killed Bryant as she felt pretty bad after that (eventhough Bryant's such a ass). Henry's first time kill someone and the victim was his brother. I'm kinda understand his move later on
Joel says he doesn’t work with rats, and like everyone else hates people who are snitches. But I know if he was in Henry’s position instead and he was with Sarah, he would do the exact same thing.
Considering what he’s about to do at the end of the show 😶😶😶
Nah he’d kill all of fedra and get the medicine himself
Ik clickers are scary and hard to deal with, but in the show they’re being talked about like mythical beasts. In the games a simple stab to the head kills them.
But Ellie literally stabs a clicker in the head to kill it in this very episode 🤦
I mean tbf, in the game, you always stab em in the back of the head, which is a natural weak spot because all the fungus growth, which is the equivalent of armor, is on the front.
Remember this is an adaptation so they're easy to kill in real life proven by episode 2. (I know that Ellie kills 2 in this episode but that was because they were distracted)
Exactly, in the game they toss em in nearly all of the in-the-thick-of-it scenarios for shits n giggle 🤣
Clickers aren’t a big deal provided you have ammo and melee weapon that isn’t that damn plank of wood 🙄
Honestly I’d say they’re there to be that little voice that makes you second guess fist fighting a room of runners
The game has a massive dissonance between its narrative and gameplay anyway. You can choke out a hundred infected without ever getting bitten once. You can punch them in the face a thousand times without ever cutting your knuckles on their teeth. You can noisily choke an infected to death three metres from its buddy, and it doesn't hear you. Same with human enemies.
This is the way
they were going to help eachother out if it wasn't for Kathleen trying to have Henry reason with Kathleen thanks Kathleen for talking so long. Henry said I will show the way joel clears the way THEY HAD A PLANNED! BUT IT FAILED CAUSE OF KATHLEEN!
To be honest this is some cinematic video game stuff. I had my controller ready listening to this scene lol
the kanas city look like never hit by the apocalypse i mean i not seen single deforestation like in the game
well they gotta save budgets somewhere and imma be honest i didnt even notice that until you pointed it out. looking at episode 2 i trust the graphics team. also, i have a tiny tiny hunch about where the cgi budget was for this episode and i think you do to
Its a quarintine zone so there would not be much destruction
It probably wasn’t even hit too hard by the cordecyps since the city looks like it was never bombed.
Sam is just adorable
I appreciate the authentic nickname for Kansas City
HBO On Demand subscribers only can access Episode 5. This Episode 5 so damn special.
1:32 is that a car driving on the road?
yeah it’s the patrol
There are several moving in the opening shot.
Either Patrol or They couldn't edit it out. Personally i think it's patrol
You can see cars driving on the road lol
Lol true
mostly drive by those people in this city
They’re appropriated military vehicles.
That's the Kansas Revolutionaries.
bro is only 2 cars and That's the Kansas Revolutionaries.
Okay, Kansas City Fedra were such geniuses for driving those infected underground! If they drove normal human beings underground and buried them there! They probably wouldn’t have lasted 48 hours but Infected People are capable of things regular human beings aren’t capable of, and yeah I feel like in the game even Pittsburgh didn’t really have a whole lot of infected, there were just some in few of the buildings and a lot in the sewers, I guess the hunters really did do a good job taking out so much infected, but yeah they made Henry and Sam’s story here more personal, in the game the Hunters had no hard feelings against them, they didn’t give a damn about anyone and they had no personal problems with anybody, they’d just ruthlessly try to kill anyone they caught trespassing through their city…..
I could still see cars on the interstate Still driving take a close look Behind Them Through the window
yep, poor editing skills
those were the rebels military trucks patrolling the highways of the city
Too bad this show was made by a fool
Too bad you are not a true LOFU fan lol
ok...? do you not like what this "fool" created? if you dont like what this fool created, why are you here watching specific scenes over a year after the show came out? i seriously dont get people like you. if you think the show was made by a fool and you dont like it, why the fuck are you still actively watching it? and why the fuck are you going to watch season 2 when you it would also be made by the same "fool?" and dont deny it, you and everyone else here knows youll tune into the new season right on time and not miss a single second.
Fool or no, I think they did a great job.
