M113 Cylinderheads Camshaft Bearing Bridge Installation
Got the cylinderheads back on the engine's on both sides. also the camshaft bearing bridge is installed. Cam sprockets back connected. chain Tensionair back in place. And the crankpulley mounted and torques
To put the heads on, there is a small seallant line needed around the cylinderhead on the outside and around the coollant and oil ports. But "not" around the cylinderbushings them selfs.
Normally when you got a headgasket there is on some placed some seallant. But with Mercedes this is not the case. In the manual there is standing there is seallant needed on disorted or corrosion spots.
But on my old gasket there was on much more places seallant and im not the only one that has seen this. There a more people with rebuilds on the m113 that have this. So i applied this on both sides of the headgasket.
I have put the head on torque using the oem sequence but a different amount of torque because of my new headstuds that im using. The final torque firgure is 110nm and done this in 4 stages.
if your interested in a set of headsuds follow this link
These camshaft bearing bridge need to be mounted equil with all the bolts in and the screw done. All the bolts need to be renewed.
When putting the head on the block it helps to but the chain tensionair in for the moment because placing cyl 1-4 heads is easier. After this pulle the tensionair out again
When the heads are on the block the sprockets can be mounted on the cams. Now these are on torque the tyraps can be removed from the cams. The chain tensionair can be put back in and put on the richt torque setting.
Also the crankshaft pulley need to be put on torque this needs a massive 200NM and then a 90 degree angle.
Finally checking if the timing is correct. Turning over the engine 14 times and the marking on the cam sprockets need to be back on the chain marking. Also the crank pulley needs to be on 40 degree s
Also have a look to the other rebuild video's of this engine

Coming along nicely. Looks like you will be starting it soon!!
Engine is almost ready but i have to do the complete fuel system. And engine wiring. . But also the hydraulic system from the rear suspension . But i will get there soon
This build is awesome too but I am still salivating over V12 w201
Maybe a V12 after this build 😎
En al dat werk gewoon even thuis in de garage, super!
Dank je wel
Thank you
Beauty!🎉
Hiii do you need to machine block or heads before head gasket replacement?
If the surfaces are clean and with damage. It is not needed
Is it difficult to install bearing bridge? Should i consider any trick? Also when i put the rocker arm in it's place, should all the hydraulic lifters move with the hand freely when the bolts aren't tightened? I just installed AMG Cams in my M113 and now i should bearing bridges.
I would remove all the hydraulic elements and at least drain them and installed them empty because of the different camshafts. So with new cams. You can get the right amount of oil in all the elements according to the new cam

I need to know how to match the rockers on the engine, is there any trick. That’s why i asked.
What do you mean there are 3 types of rockers . Exhaust rockers. En 2 types on the intake van not go wrong
@@JMSpeedshop
Bearing Bridges.
Just match the bolt holes and tighten with EPC/WIS spec ?
I mean whole rocker arm, which goes on top of the Camshafts.
Yes follow the factory specs
I have the m112. Do you know the torque pattern for the head bolts?
Did you machine the surface of the block?
Yes . 0.17mm . Max is i think 0.3mm according to the manual . Only block . Heads should not be touched
What was your final torque spec for the cylinder heads with the studs
On the studs i used it is 110nm
How long did this take/ cost you?
Hi, i have m113 without ZAS on my w220 and want to change the valve steam seals, it is necessary to change the camshaft bridge bolts to a new one.
Every time the bearing bridge is removed you should renew the bolts. That is what the manual is saying
When you put the sealant on, you cut the video, so I could not see if you put sealant on every mating surface, even around the cylinder walls? Please advise, thanks.
Everywhere. But not around the cylinder bushings .
@@JMSpeedshop it did look like you put the sealant under the head gasket, but did you also put sealant over the top of the gasket, it looks like you did both sides, but wanted to check before I did mine this weekend. Mine is the m113k. Thanks.
Hello. Yes that is correct . On block side and then headgasket on then some sealant on the headgasket. Then head on. But not around the cylinder bushings
@JMSpeedshop thank you your videos have given me the courage to do this job...plus long ago, your video of the white CL55 was enough to make me get one...have had it, a s55, and now a SL55...they have been great..and man am I good at fixing ABC and PSE...lol
Nice 😎
Great job. Stock camshafts are good choice for your desired power? What ecu you are planning to use?
Oem cams are.good for 5800rpms . It is a 5.0 v8 so i dont need high rpms to get to 700hp
Ecu is going to be a Maxx ecu
Have you used MB tool# 604589004000 to replace the chain on a 163?
Hello
I can not find the tool specific on Google you mention but to chance the chain the parts that are helpfull are the tools.thst keep the camstafts in position
@@JMSpeedshop the tool prevents buckling of the chain while drawing it on, similar to replacing one on a 117 without removing the cover.
It is not familiar to me . I only us r a tool.to.block the cams in the right position
Do anyone know the proper name you called the place that you take the timing with on this video the to place that you sit on the cylinder head to make sure that the timing is set right I'm trying to order them
i dont really know what you mean. i did not lock the timing

Can i reuse the camshaft sprocket bolt or need new everytime its out? Ty sir
New
