I don't understand why people even dislike longboarding, "skateboarders" especially. We're all skateboarders, longboard or otherwise. People hating on cruisers? Cruising is the foundation of skateboarding. I've been skating for 13 years or so, and I started longboarding last year and i wouldn't say one is harder than the other. It doesn't break down like that. Would it be harder to go 30mph on a regular skateboard? Maybe a little. But sure its harder to do a 360 shuvit on a 56 inch pintail. I can't even believe how little skaters realize about their own culture. How do people think longboarding is a few years old? But really, skateboards have come in all shapes and sizes pretty much since the invention of them that it makes no sense to hate on someone for it now. This is an art form, its about personal expression at it's root. Stop ruining skateboarding by hating on other skaters, society hates us all equally when we're on a piece of wood with 4 wheels.

Well said. I agree, I own 2 skateboards, a mini cruiser, and 2 longboards and I love all of them. Sometimes when I feel like going to a skatepark I bring my skateboards but other times when I just wanna cruise around, I'll bring my longboard or cruiser.
Some people just dont understand how free longboarding can make you feel. Its like for those few seconds going down hill theres no worry and all your troubles go to the back of your mind its truely amazing.

That's the whole reason I skate. I do it for the spiritual side I get. I love the feeling of being pushed, propelled and I love the feeling of using my body weight to turn. I love the feeling of the acceleration. I love the feeling of gliding. Skating is almost like flying. Except you're on the ground (most of the time).
The feeling I get from skating is almost like a dream, or trance-like sense. I love throwing my arms up and spinning 360's. I love going down super smooth cement neat where I live and that feeling of going about 25mph is incredible. Just knowing that if I fall off its going to be painful, but when I don't fall, it's like one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
Forget hills. Rolling anywhere I feel free.
I remember when this vid came out and it inspired me to longboard. I come back three years later and its amazing how far ive come. Its never to late to learn if you havent, keep shreddin if you have.

I can’t believe this video is 7 years old... I remember living and working in NYC when this video dropped, I played it over and over at work. Where the hell does time go. Still one of my favorite NYC longboard videos, and still love the music!

Cruising around NYC and Brooklyn is so damn chill..taught myself to skateboard with a standard cruiser/loingboard in July 2014...NY....I always skate alone..when you chill on wheels in NYC, u feel the heartbeat of the entire city...even at 3:00AM...as a very experienced city roller blader, & cyclist,....I adore the cruiser more than anything...gonna have to go with the Bustine Maestro mini (or maybe the bigger "pro")....as a Brooklyn Born kid, now grown up in the big city they represent, with style and comfort.

I was told to start skateboarding when i was 13 by a 19 year old, I didn't. Now i'm 16 and am regretting not starting because three years of practice would have been so wonderful.
I'm 15 and I started four months ago. It's never too late.

ok, I should be asleep for the big day of studying/research i have, but i've been watching this video all evening so far. It's beautiful! The skating is amazing but what gets my eye is how it's filmed. The music sets the mood, and the shots showing how artistic NY is....it's just amazing. I don't care if you like or dislike longboarding, you should just watch this video.

The world doesn't know it yet but NYC has EVERYTHING, from techy 25mph+ downhill runs on skinny pedestrian walkways to freeriding down interborough bridges. It's hard to break 40mph here but if you know where to go at just the right time, it just may be possible. Long live the Empire State!

Yeah no doubt. Bustin makes some of the most inspiring vids imo. They're video's are so unique. As much as I love watching longboard videos there are already a million of them with amazing slides and decent editing. This film is so fresh, and brings such a cool atmosphere. Props to bustin.

What a beautiful video. I know little about longboarding but those riders looked incredible and the camera work was great. Board riding in an urbanscape always looks so dynamic.

You brothers skilled it! I'm from NYC too... I ride my penny board, but just recently ordered an Arbor board. Waiting on it can't wait for it to arrive. I'll definitely need to go hard to roll with you brothers. Keep it up... Always look left, right and back before hitting those intersections (some kid died a couple days ago here in NYC), New Yorkers drive like maniacs. Blessings man!

Longboarding Is Now On My Bucketlist. I Will Get This Done.
When i was reading the comments everyone was saying what defines skateboarding and what defines, yes the board, the type riding, and where they ride is all a factor, but i think what defines one from the other is the rider. Skateboarding is more of a show off sport to see who is better, while longboarders tend to create a community and like to learn from one another.

I like all extreme sports tbh! Longboarding, skateboarding, BMXing, skiing, surfing, snowboarding are the ones I currently do but I will go base jumping soon! All sports are great and I think everyone should stop hating each others sports and instead just go out and give different ones a try!

Good choice. One thing about longboarding though, it is more expensive just because there is so much more to longboard decks than to skateboard decks, but it is worth the money (usually). I can't really tell you what to get because I don't know exactly what you want to be doing, but if the kind of stuff in this video is what you want to do then maybe check out bustins skateboard line. If you click the show more button on this video it lists all of their boards that they used in the video :)

As a person who lives in the city I can assure you longboarding is one of the greatest things to do, NYC is perfect. The entire bourough of manhattan is downhill going from uptown.
