Thanks for all your lessons, tips and tricks! Learned so much from you. Make sure you are taking good care of yourself...your eyes looked like they were bothering you a bit...I'm thinking contact lenses drying out... Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the fact that you always seem to post your videos the moment I drop off my wife at the grocery store and begin the wait in the parking lot. Your videos really inspire me to return to the house and get to work!
What timing! I was just eyeing my upper cabinets and shelving, thinking about places for hand tool storage, which my garage sorely lacks. I thought some sort of drop down shelf would work, and decided to look for a how-to video when an Etsy notification for your new pattern showed up. I have some old cabinet drawers that I'm going to cut down and modify for this purpose. Thanks!
Always great ideas that you make simple and you spell things out. Im one of the reasons you have so many views because i watch some over and over again! Thanks, Matthew

I'm currently designining a workbench/assembly table with drawers, but this is an interesting concept. Thinking that you could still utilize this space similarly but you'd have to open the top drawer in order to access these. Might have to play around with this idea.
Thank this is going to give me a bunch of more storage I was going to look into making a new table with storage but I think with this I’ll be good for a while
Hello Matthew, I love your videos. However, you have an adjustable guide for marking your holes, but I can't find a link to it. Please show a link to it, as well as keeping these fabulous videos coming. Best wishes.
I've built a dozen or more around my shop. cant tell you haw much space I've gained. BUT!! Now I want to built bigger ones. Now the width is no problem. but If I make them deeper? will I need to adjust the length of the legs? or move the holes for the legs? Thank again
Hi Matt. I have two workbenches with a lot of dead space underneath that I’ve been trying to figure out how to better utilize. I also want to use some of that space to locate frequently and misplaced tools. I like this idea and think I’ll incorporate a version of this plan into what I want to do. Thanks!
Check out the video of what the guy did to the harbor freight work bench. He added storage under it ua-cam.com/video/igCPcj9iBNU/v-deo.htmlsi=5HEzcqf4g93uAe2Y
Matthew: I've been trying to think of something to do with the space beneath two of my workbenches and this is the perfect solution of what I was trying to conceptualize. Many thanks for sharing!
I like this a lot. My shop is a 8'x8'x20' shipping container which makes every inch of floor and wall space premium space. I'm designing a 16' lon x 30" wide bench that the job site table saw will slide into the end, and the miter station and planer will flip down leaving plenty of work space for long lumber on any machine. The opposite wall will have a 36" x 8' flip down work and assembly table. Both would make wall storage a bit of a pain to reach often used tools and these drawers would solve the problem. This also leaves the entire wall above the workbench as lumber storage, up and out of the way but reachable and the opposite wall can have French cleat space over and past the assemble table. And the back wall will be where I use a modular storage system for all my work tools since I pay the bills being a handyman at least for now. Likely going with toughbilt since they're coming out with a complete system like packout but a bit cheaper. Every little idea for storage helps make my micro shop more usable for bigger projects which means I can make more money. 🙂
On part E in your plans: The 12" x 1.5": In the video in the second hole you measure 3/4 inch up but your plans show 7/8 down. That's what I see. What did I miss?
Awesome. Between this and the game changer, I'm going to be busy after the shoulder heels. One question, tho. At approximately 2:45 you said you were using a 1/4" boat to assemble this. Oh, at 6:00 you used the boat. Never mind.
@MatthewPeechWoodworking, I really enjoy your content since the day I watched it for the first time. Do you have plans for the split drawer that you showcase on the background? It is amazing, and I would like to build it for my grandkids. Thank you for your content.
This is a very clever way to add a little extra storage for frequently used small items. If you store chisels, don't skimp on the magnets! You don't want those tumbling out.
I really like this idea. I'm going to be looking for storage solutions in my new shop soon. I also liked the video you did with the workbench that articulated up into a shelf system. How hard would it be to make that into a 6 foot bench instead of 8?
I’m thinking these would be good on the extension piece on my table saw, it’s friggin chip board (big disappointment unpacking THAT part). I am using an existing shop so space is very tight but there’s some pretty cool tools I get to use! Under that extension would be a pretty awesome place to store push sticks, tape measures, squares, and about a thousand pencils.
The hole for the dowel is drilled through the bench apron and the front of the drawer. As long as the dowel is through both holes, the box can't swing down.
I just got my hands on my neighbors dead husbands full woodshop that he used in the 90's tools, machinery, wood, tons and tons of lumber and rough sawn cedar, oak and walnut. The building is in kinda rough shape and kinda a challenge to get to the good stuff. But it's a fkn gold mine. 😂 I don't have room for all this stuff. All free to me. Unfortunately what I can't take will find it's way to the landfill in 5 weeks.
@@dian3145 dude there's about 4 table saws, a DeWalt planer I already got to my house tonight. A Jet brand jointer, delta 18" drum sander, a saw mill that the guy built himself. No, seriously, in the video it looks like you are just twisting the knob and it opens... I just drilled a hole thru the bench and into the mount and stuck a dowel through it to keep it closed. It looks like you are just turning yours

This is another 🔥 idea of yours!!!! 🤩👏🏽

Hello I have a question!
Have you ever made a wood project using paint sticks?
That's pretty awesome. I have a lot of OLD workbenches that line the walls of a 50' x 60' barn that I work in. These will work great. Thanks!
This is absolutely an awesome idea I will definitely be checking this out. Thank for sharing.

Does the curved structure over the miter saw act as a dust collector? Do you have a video on making it? 4:58

Thank You so much for this!! I have an over engineered work bench (very proud of) with a lot of dead space. This is perfect
This should help for sure. Thank you.
I’m curious to know what the square footage is, of your shop?
Are the power stack batteries better than the XR batteries or do you even notice a difference?
What does the dowel connect to to lower or keep the unit up?
Great question.

Are the shelves self supportive so they hang at the angle you showed or are they resting on the plastic boxes that you have on the lower shelf?
They are self supported. No need for the boxes under. The boxes just show you can still have other storage with the built ins.

Hello there! Thank you!
Brilliant idea, thanks.
Being up under the workbench top, contents of the boxes will stay clean and not fill up with sawdust. Nice.
Just saw a video on this exact thing made about a month ago from another creator
Maybe I missed it, but how does the dowel act as a lock?
It keeps the box up in the locked position
The hole for the dowel is drilled through the bench apron and the front of the drawer. As long as the dowel is through both holes, the box can't swing down.
