Subtractive light primaries makes a lot of sense, seeing as they live in the same dimension as Necrozma, who is mostly in a state of deep black crystalines
Maybe it should've reflected the Alola starters secondary types- Poipole gaining the Dragon-type somewhat reflects against Primarina's Fairy type. And with Poipole being somewhat Magenta, it compliments Litten, while the Poison Typing is super effective on Rowlet. Hm... may have to write this down. Edit: Using a different method, i came to a different combo: a Rock/Ghost and an Electric/Psychic. Essentially, their main typing is strong against one of the Alolan Starter's main typing, but (and bear with me here) the second typing is WEAK to the second typing of the Alola Starter that is WEAK to the Alola starter the UB Starter's primary type is strong against. To explain: Poipole is Poison type, which is strong against the Rowlet line. Rowlet is super effective against Popplio, and evolves into a Water/Fairy, so Poipole evolves into a Poison/Dragon type, making a secondary somewhat triangle.
@@matthewwilliams8267 Poor Poipole and Naganadel, they can't use any Poison moves for that Rock/Ghost with only going for Neutral with Dragon, feelsbadman 😞

To make the 3 pokemon fully equal in their type triangles (without using pre-existing base starter types), the typings would have to be as follows: Poison/Dragon, Electric/Fairy, and Ice/Flying. The primary typing beats the secondary typing of the following starter in the triangle. Instead of having the Elec/Fairy type's secondary beating the Ice/Fighting type's secondary.
I love all of this! I haven't been able to check your work in a while due to time constraints, but this definitely reminds me just why this project is so fantastic! Thank you for making such awesome content.

Honestly I was so focused on type effectiveness I would have never considered colors.
wait the cowboy ice type one is really funny, is it a reference to that one post that points out cowboys have the potential to thrive in cold environments similarly to an invasive species? because of the sombrero and poncho shielding them from the snow
I'd love to use Glasage. They look really cool and have pretty nice stats for their typing(Ice type is meant to be an offensive type, same for Fighting, so them being a fast attacker is great.)
Zodiac Beasts likely not being useful for the progress of the main game seems perfectly fine by me, since they're like an ideal concept to be the focus of a DLC expansion after all the work involved in fleshing out and polishing the critical story route and minor side quests is already over with.
Out of curiosity, would Ice/Flying have worked? That way Electric could be involved in the triangle. (Poison beats Fairy, Electric beats Flying, Ice beats Dragon) Not complaining about Glassage, though, and there aren't nearly enough of Ice/Fighting or Ice/Flying in general.

Very cool!
Could you make Mythicals?
Zodiac Beasts likely not being useful for the progress of the main game seems perfectly fine by me, since they're like an ideal concept to be the focus of a DLC expansion after all the work involved in fleshing out and polishing the critical story route and minor side quests is already over with.
Out of curiosity, would Ice/Flying have worked? That way Electric could be involved in the triangle. (Poison beats Fairy, Electric beats Flying, Ice beats Dragon) Not complaining about Glassage, though, and there aren't nearly enough of Ice/Fighting or Ice/Flying in general.
you didn't link the type triangle thing :(
You could still count the three for pikachu and eevee since pokemon collusium had you use evolutions of eevee as starters
