    If you like little speakers, you have got to try the Sound matter FoxL V2.2 Platinum. This thing has incredible detail & has a little bass to it. If you buy the subwoofer, it adds an additional depth to the octaves. This is my goto speaker & I have about 12. Soundcore to Diamondboxx. The FoxL Platinum will amaze you. It's best for a bathroom or your work desk. Kitchen or bedroom. It's not gonna rock the party, but the sound it produces is better than most speakers you'll come across.

      @caroconga I don’t find the bass overpowering at all. That nonsense is coming from the UA-camr Oluv so he can sell that Uboom L speaker (which I didn’t like) which he has some sort of partnership with. It does have a low bass (like quality home systems with 10” powered subs have), but low bass doesn’t overpower other instruments like that mid punchy bass.

    I tried a lot of the ones you suggest! Then I did more in-depth research. So glad I did for I found out about and bought a Teufel Boomster. I delight in it every time I switch it on. There’s no comparison. Just read the reviews. (I had the same problem years ago when checking reviews. I bought a speaker no one reviewed: an ADX Dynamix. Still works brilliantly. Beautifully balanced).

    I like your evals on these speakers. I agree on the Bose Flex. I am currently comparing the flex (BF) with the Anker Soundcore Boost, 20w (ASB). Believe it or not, the ASB is making it hard for me to decide on it and the BF. The BF is better on overall sound, but I find that using the Atmos sound feature on my phone, makes the ASB sound damn close to the BF. I am leaning toward the BF, but reviews stating how flaky the connectivity app is has me hesitating. I like to pair two speakers for stereo sound filling the room. After listening to the ASB is sounds great and beats the BF...until I switch back to the BF and it sounds richer over all ranges. For sure the BF is batter sounding, but for the price the ASB cannot be beat. I paid $49!

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 Рік тому

      The Bose app isn’t good at all, but fortunately you don’t need to use the app for pairing. You just press button sequence on the one speaker, then on the other, wait 10 seconds or less and done. Maybe 15 seconds in total tops. I only used the app to rename each speaker.

    I purchased the Micro 2 (the replacement for the Stormbox Micro) last year. It's very similar in size, but the output and run time are increased. It's a great little speaker. Yes, I do take it hiking, but turn it up only when I'm on my own, LOL. It's "warm" sound is actually a great fit for this type of use.
    I was considering purchasing the Extreme 3 as well, but after perusing many reviews (UA-cam and otherwise), I decided to go with the Mifa Wildbox instead. The Wildbox is a lot cheaper, but uses the same driver layout (two woofers, two tweeters) and can produce excellent sound, particularly with a slight bit of EQ to pull down the highs a little bit. Both the Micro 2 and the Wildbox are IP67 rated too.
    BTW, my first BT speaker was a Soundblaster Roar2. It's amazing how far BT speakers have come since that was released. And yes, it still works 🙂

    Is there a good bluetooth speaker that isn't portable? Meaning no battery, have to plug into the wall? Or maybe one that plugs-in and doesn't kill (over-charge) the battery? I have a $50 PC soundbar in my kitchen. It sounds okay, it's always-on so I don't have to touch it. My only problem with it is the device memory. If I want to switch devices I have to re-pair every time. If I could get multi-device memory, plus a little better sound quality, I'd pay more. My only problem is I don't have space for a subwoofer in my kitchen. A lot of the higher end PC soundbars now only come with subs.

      Just because a speaker has a battery it doesn’t mean you can’t keep it plugged in all the time. Worst case is you wear the battery out faster, which means it won’t hold a charge eventually, which wouldn’t matter to you if you are keeping it plugged in. I love my Bose Flex, it has rich bass in small package AND remembers all my devices…just cycle through BT button on the speaker to connect. I had five , but could probably do more. It will even connect to 2 devices at same time. Oh and the sound quality is great too.

      @Frank 3 Wheel Motion Berry No, that's the opinion of anyone who knows how a speaker should sound, soundboxes sound like some kitchen radio with no real bass response and off highs.
      Get some jbl pb if you really want to listen to music.

      @@lukabosnjak3829 I have 4 QSC K series 12 inch monitors & 4 QSC KW 18 subs ; which kick the crap out of any JBL. I also have 2 charge 5's & a Flip 5. I have a Soundboks 3 & Soundboks Go. It all depends on what source you play your sound from. My Soundboks actually sound good. Everyone has different experiences though.

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 Рік тому

      Another Bose speaker, yes. If wanting true stereo, must be two Flexes.

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 Рік тому

      @cutiebunnyamber3447 Not the question, but also wrong answer for devices. It can be paired to 2 devices at same time, and the Bluetooth remembers even more and allows you to just cycle through the Bluetooth button to sync with other devices. I had 5 devices that I could cycle through. But only 2 can be active at same time. So when I turn it on it will say connected to Joel’s iPhone and IPad. If I hit the Bluetooth button again it will say TV, or whatever device I have previously used at one time.

    I have bought the JBL Xtreme's (1&2) and the friggin batteries die after ONE year of use, and are not easily changeable without soldering kit and extensive labour (I dont overcharge the batteries either). Also, the clasps on the straps break. It really pissed me off. If I drop that much on a speaker I expect it to last for years.. MFFFFFF......

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 Рік тому

      I guess you could still use the speaker assuming the battery will still work while plugged in. Basically turning into a corded speaker. Lithium batteries will eventually stop holding a charge, but in my experience will still work while plugged in.
