  • Hello everybody!
    In this video I will show you how I add color on grayscale image.
    I use this method in concept art or in a simple illustrations. This is very helpful if you need a different color variations of same character.

      It's sort of okay at 0.75 speed, only problem then is that the video is too long, and the slow-down causes the sounds to sounds slightly choppy.

    Hmmm the results are great and spectacularly vibrant and clean but having 12 gradient maps would make things a little too complicated for my workflow. But thanks for shedding light on a different way to work and for the awesome results you can achieve with it.

    So fantastic! I remember messing with the gradient map method a long time ago for environments, but I never was as effective as this character. Really awesome, do you have a Patreon or anything to get a hold of those gradient presets ;)

    Do you have any gumroad tutorial that I can buy? I am VERY interested in your render technique, how you do the shading using what brush etc. This is too fast and without commentator, would love to hear your input in a video form where you explain how to make nice transitions from light to dark etc.

    Is this a personal art style? I am trying to pull together a bunch of references of character design similar to yours so that I can begin illustrating in this style. I feel like its a mix between a toned down comic style and a more detailed Disney style, which seems like a perfect blend for great illustration.
