Honestly kind of how i felt, really as much as I truly do love faker, this is just how vex is meant to be played. what an amazing concept to adjust ur first ability to the champion you are against rather then just blindly following ur apps leveling and skill plan. Just have to agree here, i didnt see anything Astonishingly OP with his plays, hes just that good. Pretty sure the champion will make 0 diff in his ability to beat you down to crying.

@@MrWocnam you do recognize that in 20 games faker has an 80% winrate on this champion right? If you think this is how the champ is "meant to be played" then it is still worth it to point out how faker is playing because he's literally the best Vex player in the world. If you watched this video and genuinely think you gained no new information from it then you're either blind or not very good at the game dude lol, or you're secretly the best Vex player of all time.
@@jbisthedj You're right about always being able to learn from him but, concepts like running in a straight line so you gain ground while your enemy tries to (has to try to) juke your skillshots are hardly "astonishing". Everyone knows it's easier to watch a play than make it, but still...

On the whole vex ult thing. I think its just make sure you at least have your e and q and passive up before you commit your r. I notice before he threw r he would either wait for passive or wait for a spell to proc his passive
Seeing the Timewarp Tonic, I think it would have been worth mentioning in the video if it is a good idea to play aggressively or how to use it effectively, it does seem like he goes for aggressive trades.
you use the movement steroid to dodge skillshots so your trades are one sided, walk up, pop corrupting, sidestep, and then q or e them while theyre standing still casting their ability

This is my thoughts on itemising with Vex:
Everfrost is super good into a lot of melee team comps because you can easily hit the root and combo with your e/q.
If there’s a lot of mages or marksmen that would make it difficult to use the active, then I would opt in for Ludens for the magic pen and ap.
Nevertheless, Lol Dobby’s content always make my day. :)
Vex's innate fear passive doesn't really combo well with the crown and his shield as well imo. You lose almost 2 seconds on the active on crown if you fear correctly, having been jumped on, and everfrost is so easy to hit on a feared enemy that the root is probably more effective at blocking damage and can still be used offensively.
Won't be that difficult if u hit your R. I pick Everfrost on MANY mid champs as a midlaner. Gives me another cc :)
faker is like predicting your W with ekko and stun the whole enemy team its crazy how good he is

@@cherno8336 thing is... Akali has the exact same problem as Yasuo. Both of them can deal insane unexpected damage, and both of them can gapclose half the lane in a second. So the thing about them requiring skill is a load of BS until you start meeting players who know what they are doing. You cannot really outplay Akali once she has closed the gap, so the only real reliable counterplay is the same as Yasuo: Dont get close enough in the first place. If you dont have flash or a really good escape ready right then and there, you just disappear from existence no questions asked. Kinda applies to fizz too, except he requires to land his R first.
@@Doschy the only difference there is that yasuo windwall has way less counterplay than shroud and less uses
and he doesn't use mana/energy that gives you the chance to escape from Akali.
with a not braindead support (which is rare) a Akali can be easily shutdown even alone if you have a CC.
but if Yas hits a Q3 you are dead if there are minions you are dead.
and there's way worse than Yas
like zed if you are in range of it's 30 sec CD ult you are dead only in high ELO he is countered effectively

Thought Everfrost will be a no brainer on Vex - called it few days before her release, I was so confused when Luden's became a go to mythic for her.

Her ap scalings arnt that high so pen makes more sense than ap sometimes, though the active of everfrost is good
I just really like the damage from Ludens, especially combined with the really OP magic pen build going around of sorc shoes ludens/protobelt shadowflame and void staff

Honestly this seems a way more suitable gameplay for Vex. Stay back, play around your fear and poke, use ult to engage or execute people. The kamikaze playstyle might be funny but it doesn't always work
Well if youre able to fear 3 or 4 enemies in a team fight, then kamikaze is good

I used everfrost on her release as i saw the potential with it on her before. I am jsut not as skilled by any stretch of the word as faker so i can't show how good it is. Everfrost is by far one of the best items in game because of it having cc for anyone even if they don't have it in the kit. I like vex and play her, though not my main and will not take the place.
Here I am, stupidly building Vex back then with Crown and Fimbulwinter to dive for my team (no wonder I'm hardstuck)

@@goatnoodles9162 It works on ranged champions. It applies on immobilizing effects (anything preventing you from controlling your character). It's just that, on melees, it's easier, since it also applies on slows. Vex has a fear (immobilize) so it procs (comboing with her all-in for a bigger shield).
Let's be fair here, even if we manage to somehow think like Faker, almost none of us will be able to even imitate his camera control and reaction speed. I genuinely believe that Faker can see the world in slow motion and people like us can't compete with his raw talent. But even when I say all of this, I can never downplay any of Faker's efforts. That man has been grinding League for almost a decade now. I'm sure he's this good because of his hard work.

Many people put in the time and effort to learn things, but it doesnt matter cause at some point, talent does beat hard work. Hard work has a barrier that is so much lower than a barrier of talent yk. But yea sometimes hard work pays off and beats talent, but thats just not how it is in the usual

im very rusty tried this build and tank viegar was againt me with some ap items he had fimble winter and crown so he was so tanky and i got REKT so hard until it reached a point when ciat 1shoot me when im 70%hp with 1 auto dealing 1278 damage and healing half he health bc 1 yuumi q i went 4/17/16 i couldnt get enough gold i totally forgot how to cs with vex bc i dont want to use fear so early game i had 10cs in 5min bc i roamed to help jg and focused on poking viegar he just stun q w me and minions dealt 200 damage and he survived without even getting his items yes im bad im so god damn rusty

Faker is like Seijūrō Akashi, they are great players obviously but what them great isn’t just their “skills” but how they use the skills, perfection.

don't replays have player perspectives i mean yes everyone knows nobody wants to watch like fakers movements since the camera is everywhere like a pingpong wizard but still could give way more detail where he looks and stuff i don't know if that even exists as option in replay

Just goes to show that while Faker may be talented, he also has something that I don't see a lot of in this game: critical-thinking skills. It's not just mechanics and reactions, he's actively thinking about what to do in a lot of situations. He's not just face-rolling R>W combos, he's stacking passive, playing patiently, not rushing to hit skillshots so their juke movement closes their own distance.
Frankly it's something more people need to think about.
Faker is on a whole other level compared to a lot of other players.

I main Vex and I think her autos are so strong, I go attack speed in my runes. Just use Corrupting Pot and chunk enemy at level 1 without breaking a sweat, because extra movement speed from Time Warp Tonic is like Vayne passive, they can’t leave your range.
Unfortunately most of Faker’s stuff I can’t follow at all, if I try his combos my fingers are too slow, 70 ping doesn’t help either. That’s why I go basic Luden’s, basic RW, etc. Faker’s Vex optimizations are for Master+ tier I think, I’m just trying to get to gold for first time lol
I learned about wave control and moving after laning phase when I was stuck in gold. It helped me climb to Diamond for about 5 months. Maybe that's what u need.

It's nice to see faker on a carry champ again. He has been playing supportive picks for a long time now. Hopefully he takes her into pro games so the god king can take his throne back.

Its pretty interesting seeing faker play vex the way I do. I also have a dominating streak with her in rank, but I build everfrost or ludens depending on the game. I also only start e, better trades in lane because if you put it behind them, they get feared towards you. It's an easy electrocute!
5:31 was an experience diff. I play both leb and vex, and have a decent understanding of what they want to do. I commend her for not using W into the Vex' range but I would have insta W right after to avoid Vex' flash or atleast just bait out an ability since Jayce would probably get the kill with his range and gap closers.

I straight up hate Vex's design. It's so stupid IMO. I mean they make an anti-dash champion then give it a resetting dash, they say she's artillery but in a lot of ways she plays more like an AP assassin. She lands ult one recasts dashes in fears, one shots.
Riot games are rigged in many ways to get people play and buy as much as possible
