- This is about revisiting Blackberry 10 operating system. Time moves so fast, but if there are few things that doesn't change, its my soft spot to keyboards and underdogs. Most of the things are said in this video is based in my experience in the past when using BB10; there might be some strong opinions, but I hope we all live to respect and appreciate other point POV. I can't help not to care. Thank you guys for allowing me to vent out even just for a bit, and I really appreciate it. Post your memorable memories when using Blackberry in the comment section, I would love to read them to reminisce the good old days.

Well said.. BB10 was ahead of its time. It was mocked for its gesture based features and yet now the big two offer that as well. So unfortunate that it was never given a chance.
Yes, it's kinda heartbreaking that the "great features" today are some good features available to blackberry 10 long time ago. Fandom of Android and iOS was such a big thing back then, I guess it's one of the reasons why bb10 was not given the chance it deserves. Thanks for watching! 🍻

Samsung had a promo about 3 years ago, trade in a phone and get $200 + the value of the phone. I foolishly traded in my Passport at that time and I truly hate that decision
This would have been a great one to look back upon, I mean I started and finished my University with a BB Passport so its unfortunate that my loyal piece is now gone, all this to say I appreciate how clear your video is thanks for taking me back in time and reliving those times :)

BlackBerry was trusted. You knew you weren't going to be hacked. You knew your device was quality. My Priv is 6 or 7 years old and still works well. (It takes time to complete some actions and gets hot) but still functional and in my opinion better than anything else on the market.

@@joshualebowitz Unfortunately the Apple cult is massive, and I won't knock the quality of their phones, they're built well, run smooth and have long support. But they along with Android may have secure platforms (to a point) but they're mining our data. I haven't liked where big tech has been going for years. There was a guy I sat next to on a plane that had resigned from Google because he was uncomfortable with what his job had become. He said if anyone knew what these phones and computers were giving the company behind the scenes they would go without in a second. He said within 10 years it would become terrifying. That was back in 2014.
I agree, even up to now, I'm wondering the same thing. When I moved to an all screen phone I missed a lot of the key functionality that blackberry implemented, esp. speed keys and shortcut keys. It's probably the screen estate that most people appreciate in an all screen phones; especially, when watching media content or playing games.
I honestly wish onward mobility would release an improved versions of priv and key 2 or passport. Thanks for watching! 🍻
They wanted to use their phones for entertainment which required a larger display and onscreen controls.

I've been using a BlackBerry Z30 STA100-5 since I bought it which was on March 4, 2015. Even if you don't believe me, it's still my daily driver !. By the way and in my humble opinion, I have to say that BB10 is the best mobile OS I've ever used!, I really love it!. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!.

Unfortunately, it was not given a chance by many people, and developers quit developing an app for them 😞 on the lighter side, I'm glad that we all had the chance to experience the OS. I loved my Passport and maintain it was the best phone I’ve had. I had to get rid of it sadly because the battery started to swell, but I’d love to get another one just to have as a curio. Currently on iPhone but I miss that BlackBerry Hub.
I can feel your struggle. Same struggle. I started to appreciate bigger screen, but every once in a while I miss keyboards. Bb hub and others bb features are really one of a kind experience.
@@ReynSupreme that square shaped screen fit so much on it, narrow and tall screens just felt restrictive in comparison.
Custom notifications, led options were all built into bb10 which was nice. No app download needed. Even the clock and calculator seem better than what new phones offer

Bb10 was the best but blackberry can't make money with it.
I owned blackberry between 2013 and 2017 and I moved to Android.
BlackBerry passport, Classic and Z30 was my favorite devices.
I hope a new cool device by Onward mobility in 2022.
Passport, Priv and z30 ( never had a chance to get) are my favorites when it comes to designs. I used to use my BlackBerry 10 phones as my main device, then it became my secondary device for work and school, until major apps stopped their support- i was forced to let them go. 😞 I am keeping my faith with Onward mobility; I hope they'll release it soon! it will be guaranteed that network will not longer work for BB passport soon. Right now mine still working, but everything else is quite buggy. Text messages and emails are delayed. Although, I am not sure when exactly BB10 will stop functioning, but I heard that it will happen in every BB10 slowly. I hope this answers your questions.

Miss BB 10, especially after using Android. But I am not an app junky either!
Same... I always miss the bb experience, I am still optimistic that maybe someday they'll try to make phones once again.
BB10 was and still is a fantastic OS. It's just a shame the app ecosystem never really took off. I can't help but feel Blackberry in 2013 would have been much better off if they had adopted Android for their new devices at this point, and put their developer resources into making a really good Android UI/skin that would incorporate their ideas for BB10. By the time they actually (sort of) did this with Android in the Priv and Key series it was too late. Had the BB Classic been an Android device, I'd have purchased one in a heartbeat. I still use my KeyOne today and it's a fantastic (and very beautiful) phone, but I still miss the convenient size of the Classic/Bold form factor. When my KeyOne finally dies, I'll prob go for the Titan Pocket.

Is the hub still working today with email and texts?
Last time I checked, messages and calls still works. Hub are a bit delayed for email notifications. 😔
Still using mine, primarily for work taking calls and some messaging. WhatsApp even still works on it fine.
Lucky you bro. Mine is not working now.. I think they gradually shutting it off. Hope yours works for longer.
