Clove Technology Yeah, you accurately highlight the flaws and positives of the device and don't tell people to 'let go and get something modern' or 'it's just not good enough' like those two reviewers did which is why I don't trust their reviews.
I have watched over a dozen reviews for this phone, and this by far is the best one I have seen.

Thank you for finally providing an objective review for the Blackberry Classic. Most reviews I've seen are such homers to iOS and Android, and don't appreciate BBOS for what it offers.

I have a precision that I would like to add: BlackBerry Blend works using USB, Wi-Fi, or regular 3G/4G. This means that if you forgot your BlackBerry at work, you can still access it from home.
Finally a fair review of this great device! You guys are awesome. Surfing UA-cam for a review of this phone is a pain, not to mention the general opinion regarding Blackberry at the moment. I'm so eager to get the Classic, for many many reasons, although I'm a new BB user for a few months now. This will replace my Z10, mostly for the battery life and keyboard.

I really want this. I love the old 9900 Bold. And I love the new OS 10. I think this is a very cool combination to get it both in one device.
You're right. Blackberry 10 is an entirely new OS far away from BBOS 7. Blackberry Classic is the perfect upgrade for Blackberry Qwerty-trackpad loyal fans under the totally new OS. Of course, Blackberry Z phones targets the android, iphone and windows users. Blackberry Passport, obviously, is the most innovative and unique of its kind smartphone to lure professionals and enterprise.

Solid review guys. Other reviews mentioned apps were slow to open (primarily android apps), did you experience that on any apps? Native or otherwise?
S. Buckets I can't say we really noticed Android apps being much slower than the native apps, maybe marginally. The native apps can take a second or so to load up, depending on the app. Messaging and hub loads a lot quicker than the browser or the camera for example.

Very good and honest review. I've had good use of my Classic and am happy with it, but I do wish it had a snappier processor. I sure wish that last part about 2015 were true.
I have a Classic and a Passport SE. I love them both for what they bring to the table. I do wish the Classic had better specs, but it gets the job done for what I need and I prefer its form factor. Is anyone else still getting good use out of their Classics here is 2018?
This review is better than any commercials BB could have created. What an amazing device only dulled by a crappy marketing team.
Best OS ever....love this Blackberry and it's OS..... My blackberry collection bold 9700, 9780, 9790, 9900, classic, blackberry passport silver edition and z10 still are in working conditions.. I am still using it....😍😘🤩

Love the color. Don't like that you can't change the battery. When traveling in areas with spotty po were access it is great to have those extra batteries along.

I've upgraded from Q10 to the Classic for the trackpad which I missed from the Q10 after using an old previous model of the Blackberry legacy phones. Although, I planned to buy the Passport but I really would like to get the feel of the classic Blackberry smartphone again with the size, keyboard and trackpad under the new OS 10. And I am happy with my decision. Although I still plan to get the Passport later for the unique large square screen and trackpad-like keyboard, and of course the high-standard specs. Blackberry 10 just needs Google play services supported and running and additional support to app developers to create native apps.
I miss this phone this is like meeting an old friend . . . my best phone ever... wish it was still available . . .

Very good review! I really like it , but the battery is not removable, can this cause problems with time passing?
I think that more depends on whether you get a defective version or not. If you are worried about removable battery the maybe you should get the Q10 instead.
Desmond C. Thanks for comments. Potentially long term it could, but with regular re-charge and discharge cycles of the battery it should prolong the life. Most phones have built in batteries now, the technology has improved as has the life of the battery.
I've had it for 2 months, I love it!!
even tho im a big fan of regular smartphones, i love how the blackbery classic looks! its a beautiful smartphone, and even if it has blackberry os, it doesnt mean that the phone is crap. it has gone down a 100 bucks allready, so im definitly considering buying it.
I still want this phone.. so much...
Keyboard will not type numbers or letters. keyboard appears to work and using dial app I can bring up the numeric dial pad and the numbers work. But if I go to a text message or email the numbers and letters does not work. Any help??

Back in the day, I seem to remember that you needed a particular provider or to pay a premium to your existing provider to utilise Blackberry phones. Is that still the case or do I just plug in my SIM and go?

Still a nice review of this device. I currently use a OnePlus 6T and the Classic on a daily basis. This thing just feels good in the hand and it's hard to put down. The size, weight, keys and the screen is perfect.Bring back this exact, physical style, running Android 9, add the dual cluster 4X2 cores @ 2.8 GHz including a dedicated GPU would make it a Frankenstein beast!
Is this dual core or quad core? I thought phone arena said dual core... But this said quad core. Confused...
If this thing ran on Google Android OS, this could have been my ultimate phone! I miss devices like this. Combining a front facing QWERTY keyboard with a touch screen, like the old palm treo 6xx series.
Agreed, a more powerful processor and Android can work better on this.

Is the battery normal when you FIRST purchase the phone as it comes as 13%? I bought the phone, charged it till reach 56% and left it without using it, then came back in 1 hour I found the battery 20%?! Can you please assist me with this issue? How long should charge the battery before using it for first time? thanks
Momen Attia We do not know the exact amount of charge it will have in the phone when it arrives but it will have some. A good route to go is to charge the phone for about 12 hours, then discharge completely and do this 2-3 times.

i'm actually typing on the classic right now. The only important app I'm using is whatsapp. I'm using it as a 2nd phone since I have extra sim card. I'm loving it. I got this phone for $100+ from some guy reselling it. And it was never used for years! So lucky me. You'll have to Google a lot for apps apk and hurry up cause they're closing bb world soon.

Clove Technology So does the Passport get uncomfortable for more than the odd phone call? I guess it partially depends on hand size - I have mediium to large hands. It is so difficult when you can't get to see BBs in store.
If you have larger hands you will likely be fine. So many of us used to one handed use and the Passport is really 2 hands. The Passport is a lovely device.
So Passport great all rounder, and Classic not so versatile, and focused on the mobile worker who is really focused on phone and email most. Hard decision as I phone a lot but would benefit from the larger screen real estate esp for Sat Nav use. Thanks for your kind quick thoughts though - it is surprising than the mid range phone may actually be better than the top end for some people..
Michael Irving Yes good summary. Although if into media be considerate of the screen on passport, does not use the full screen a lot of the time.

A BlackBerry Classic design with iPhone 4s performance will be my ideal phone. Keep in mind BlackBerry I know that you fallow this comments.

This is probably not the best for that given that development for BB OS 10 is limited. You may be better off looking at an Android device.

Blackberry are moving away from making devices and BB10 OS is being updated but the focus for them is on the new Android-Blackberry devices. This said you can install the Google play store on the Classic and get some missing apps for now.

Tested it out at the VZ store. Nice but I still like the Z10 better.

Specs maybe 2012, but it's right for performing all the productivity tasks that the Classic is built for. It's a business phone, latest specs matter when you want to buy a phone for multimedia.

The classic has the same specifications as the q10. It's just heavier, a slightly larger screen, and a toolbelt.
Get the Classic. The toolbelt is the missing link to get that full Blackberry classic feel. There's a good feeling when you're navigating or scrolling using the optical trackpad that you cannot get from an iPhone, a Samsung or any android, and Microsoft Lumia phones. For me, maybe because I was used to the scroller of Sony Ericsson of the past that's why I preferred the optical trackpad (which acts like a mini mouse). Classic also has a bigger screen and the keyboard is much better to type. The physical answer and end call buttons on the toolbelt is also what I missed from it's lack on the full touchscreen phones, as well as in the Q10.

Had an iPhone 5. Got the Classic. Terrible tactile, i'm so disappointed to see that blackberry isn't de facto as good as iPhone...
Is it because keyboard phones just aren't for you? Or were you hoping for something different? Blackberry also has touch screen smartphones too.
In fact, the touch delay on this phone is terrible. But the keyboard is nice.

Well the main purpose of the device is the keyboard. I wouldn't expect amazing touch on that phone though their blackberry touch devices don't usually have any complaints.
This guy reviewing doesn't know how to use a BlackBerry at all. You've got no clue how all your complaints are really just you not doing it right like finding the battery info or scrolling a webpage
so glad they switched to Android. the OS looks like something from 2010.
I had seriously liked the Blackberry's Facebook page just to find out when this phone will be out. Days were not passing buy fast enough to have it in my hands, and now.... I love the look but very disappointed with the camera, de screen, image quality and the phone performance and overall quality,( you can see the light coming from the inside the phone between the screen and the band, and no acces to the battery). WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU HAVE 2001 PERFORMANCE ON A 2014 PHONE WHYYYYY ??? HOW DO YOU IMAGINE THAT THIS WILL help THE COMPANY BACK IN PROFIT WITH LOW QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE ????? I will keep my money !!!!! I am really really sorry Blackberry. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!
Considering the way you spell and type...blackberry is better off without you as a consumer. The classic is an amazing device..too bad you'll never know it!
