Another type that is slowly but surely leaving our skies and La Guardia is certainly a fun airport to watch planes specially in winter when most of this program was filmed including some serious snow storms.
As an airline pilot, flying in and out of LGA, each week, the beautiful MD-80s will be missed, but not the noise they made. Like an FA-18 going into full afterburner, the noise rattled the nerves of local residents.
Jochen Heiden from my experience with my UA-cam channel when people realize they can’t do any better the give it a thumbs down because they are jealous jerks! In my opinion those people should be punished as they just wreck the UA-cam community
That clip of the MD88 at 2:00 is from Vaughn College's tower! My school! It's too bad they don't bring any of these to LGA anymore, although I do admit they were very loud. Anyways, awesome footage!
@2:45 Beautiful climb out. Must of been empty? Whats with all the comments about "missing" these noise makers. I grew up next to an airport. These Son of a B****H would shake the whole house when they decided to take a short cut over our place. What was ironic is how loud they were for their size. Those 727 were loud too but didn't seem to take off as steep tho.

JustPlanes My first trip included a 727, DC-10 and DC-9 and man that DC-9 took off like a rocket, but was so quiet at cruise I nodded off!
Unfortunately those days are gone.. Those 3 types were fun to fly. My personal preference for the 727 although the DC10 was a nice ride too.
Beautiful! And wow those descents and climbs looked pretty steep!
Great job! As a limo driver for over 27 years I've spent MANY hours at that very same spot on Ditmar blvd. Great vantage point.
Golden era...aviation never be the same again. Beautiful noise...Just planes, unforgetable planes. ..thank you!
i agree! I love these aircraft!!! Now pilots barley do anything. I really miss when flying was a true talent!
Hah! I have this DVD of LaGuardia action, thanks JustPlanes! :)
