Thanks for this. My car wouldn't start so I tried charging the car's battery with the Jackery, I had the 1000w model. After 30 minutes, I started the car (of course with the Jackery unplugged like you mentioned) and the car started.
I’m happy it helped! Update is I replaced my car battery and found there was a electricity leak. The new car battery died, and this time when I used the Jackery 500 to take to repairs, it only took 15min to charge. It’s so nice not having to depend on another car to jumpstart!
Yeah, you need a multi-tester to test the voltage in the battery so you don't waste the charge you put on there already. If you are in a time crunch this could be crucial. A cheap one will do. Harbor Freight has deals on those sometimes. All kinds on Amazon. Ideally, you want at least 12.6 volts to start your engine, measured when the battery is not being charged. Measure with the Jackery on there, and then measure with it off. My old 1993 Corolla will start with a mere 12.0 volts, but auto electrical systems like 12.6 volts to prevent premature wear on your starter motor and things like relays. Make sure all the nuts are tight on the battery, the main and the smalls. I think you are right about how good the connection is causing it to charge quicker. I just use a solar panel with a cheap pwm charge controller. A Renology 50 watts glass panel charges fast. After dark, tho, its useless. I have a couple plug in chargers, as well. The trickle/float ones are cheap and will do the trick. I AM looking for the right back up battery.
Can I connect a power station to a trickle charger and use it to maintain my battery for a few months? Any idea how to calculate how long a 1000WH station could power a trickle charger? I am not charging. Dead battery, just maintaining a battery whilst the car is not driven.
Hi, after the car battery is charged and capable to start the engine, do I need to change a new car battery immediately or will it will last for some time? Thanks
It depends if the battery is drained or damaged.. if it’s just because you forgot to turn off the lights or something it should be fine.. our car had an electric leak and had to change because the battery was damaged

I think you’re supposed to connect the positive first then negative
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for posting this 😊
You’re welcome! Appreciate it :)

Do you think it would work with a Jackeree 240 , perhaps take a bit longer ?
Yes I think it should work, will just drain the Jackery faster and more of
4% of a 500… so maybe 8% of a 240

@@AnythingGoals thanks for clarifying. All the best.
I have a 360 jackery, it only takes 10 minutes.
I found out later my battery was damaged and had to replace. With new battery it works much faster
@@AnythingGoals u also should chk the distilled water level every so often. I don't & that shortens the life of the battery for sure.
@@GHE2005Ah I was not familiar with that, will take a look. Thanks buddy
( but do charge the jackery?)
Sorry what do you mean? Yes charge the Jackery
@@AnythingGoals I think he's asking if you can charge the Jackery the same way by connecting to a charged car battery.
20W isn't much. Let it sit for an hour or two. You are way too impatient.
Ok haha thanks
