American style Macronni cheese is gooyer and looser and has less spices like papricka and other spices typically used in Macronni pie....American mac and cheese is typically less heavily spiced and its focused more on the cheese and less of the spice and flavor of Macronni pie. Also Macronni pie holds together when you cut into it. Mac and cheese the us version dosent. You can't cut into American style mac and cheese fresh from the oven. Note: my step father is fron Trinidad ✌ I appreciate both dishes but I know from childhood that there very different lol. When I first had Macronni pie I was shook then realized that its not mac and cheese like in usa its suppose to be more flavorful and less gooey.

You have to cook your roux separate or it will taste like flour, grate your own cheese (shredded cheese has wax on it and is harder to melt) breadcrumbs mixed with butter on top, cook pasta Al dente, use heavy cream to mix in cheese and roux.. salt & pepper, I throw in Italian herbs, then top off with breadcrumbs and bake..

This series is pretty biased. They should have participants not involved with the dishes to prevent the overdramatic shade. Of course your gonna think your own dish is gonna be the best and of course your gonna tend to score everyone else's dish slightly lower so you have a better chance of winning... I'm guessing bragging rights?

Ok but macaroni pie is not mac and cheese they taste totally different so yea
American style Macronni cheese is gooyer and looser and has less spices like papricka and other spices typically used in Macronni pie....American mac and cheese is typically less heavily spiced and its focused more on the cheese and less of the spice and flavor of Macronni pie. Also Macronni pie holds together when you cut into it. Mac and cheese the us version dosent. You can't cut into American style mac and cheese fresh from the oven.

Lol I’m not a hater. Never in my life been called that. I was doing what I was told to do and I actually regret doing it, now that I’m finally watching it. That’s how we got picked...by doing a “mean” audition. I couldn’t swallow it so I had to spit it out. Didn’t think they would put that in the final product.

Also, it seems like 2/3 of the contestants did not understand what they were supposed to cook. They referred to their dish ass "macaroni pie".

When people complain about Mac and cheese not being seasoned, I already know they are one of those types of people who don’t like the actual tastes of food, they just want to taste seasoning.
Honestly, mac and cheese should never taste like "seasoning". When she said "it tastes like cheese, its bland" I knew that she was going to lose miserably. Mac and cheese is supposed to taste like cheese....good quality cheese.

That's the roux method. There are other ways of making the cheese sauce. What she probably meant was that it had an UNCOOKED flour taste; which absolutely would be a problem no matter how you make it.
well true but if you make it right you can't tell. if it's "gritty" the flour wasn't blended correctly. if it tastes like flour, it wasn't cooked in the butter long enough.

You have to cook your roux separate or it will taste like flour, grate your own cheese (shredded cheese has wax on it and is harder to melt) breadcrumbs mixed with butter on top, cook pasta Al dente, use heavy cream to mix in cheese and roux.. salt & pepper, I throw in Italian herbs, then top off with breadcrumbs and bake..
Less than 1 minute in and I didn’t even have to see the Mac to know who was gonna win😂😂
