Glad your cold is getting better Chrissie. Your cards are amazing and it was so fun watching the cogs and pocket watch card come together, so elegant, but masculine!. I love when elements look like they were dry embossed but weren't. Hugs, Brenda
We have a lot of patience, us crafters. The number of times I've searched for minute pieces of die cuts...given up, re-cut it and then Eureka it was stuck to my jumper the whole time!😂 I blame Gremlins a lot of the time. 😊 Two lovely cards and some great tips. TFS❤
Two beautiful elegant cards for a lady and gentleman Chrissie, and I love the sweet little dragonfly cut from a piece of bubble blown background which looks great with that soft sheen from the wax, and the flourish on the background square looks wonderful. The masculine card using the die cut cogs adhered to the background gives wonderful dimension, and the gold numbers and hands on the white watch face with the gold for the back are perfect. I see that you added a gold layer behind and a gold sentiment for the finished card to complement the other gold elements. I hope that your cold is a fleeting one. Flying this time of year does seem to have that effect sometimes I think. x
Thanks Pat, I thought the gold panel just set the die cuts off, I'm glad you spotted the addition. The cold is practically gone, I think the flight may have had a lot to do with it!❤️❤️❤️
Wow Ms.Chrissie you sure have a lot of patience putting all those bits & pieces together, such a palaver it is. Thanks for creating this Elegant card, I Appreciate You!!!
These cards are awesome, I really like the pocket watch one. My son and husband love watches so I may have to find a similar die and make this for them you have the patience of a saint to pick out all of those tiny pieces and piece them back into the face of that watch. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing tiny bits and pieces! You did a wonderful job of piecing all together. Warm regards from 🇨🇦Calgary, Alberta🇨🇦I’m so glad you are beginning to feel better.
So pleased you are back and fill that spot again I have reserved for you. a wax you can use and will definitely find in UK for making your own gilding wax is the one you would use on cotton or on your Barbour jacket. It is without colour, quite soft but not as soft as the one you have used. If you wanted it as soft you can always dilute it with turpentine. Alas it doesn't have such a high sheen like bought gilding wax, but I presume it depends on the powder used. Another effect with this wax is, wherever you rub it on /apply it, will become waterproof and colour-repellent and that can make nice effects too
You certainly like a challenge Christine....Wouldn’t it be great if we could press a fast forward button on our ‘Crafty Hands’ LOL. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the whole process of making these two cards. Thanks for sharing. 🦋xxx
That watch card was a labour of love 😆 , the end results were great though. As for the faux gilding wax if you can't get hold of that french wax you have you can make a very similar thing with pretty good results from equal parts cheap pva glue and hand cream of all things mixed together with cheap mica powder or other pretty loose powders. They need storing in a closed pot afterwards.
Definitely worth all the effort - fantastic cards! I have a very old stamp I use on the back of cards that are a bit challenging to make. It says "If you knew how long it took to me to make this card, you would never throw it out." 🤣🤣🤣
I was so impressed by your card..I wasn’t sure at first but I should never doubt you Christine..my bad..it turned out beautifully..loved the pocket watch and gears..a truly wonderful card for a man..🥰
I'd probably have to cut 2 or 3 of those watch faces in order to get all those little bits onto the face. I'm notorious for losing little things like that or sticking them to my clothes or myself and finding them after I've finished. Oops. I typed that before you lost that little stripe! The card turned out fantastic like they do every time. I've been doing a ton of making but no completing so I didn't send any Valentines this year. Makes no never mind really. There's always another holiday just around the corner and I did e-mail good wishes. Get well. I think the recycled air in planes is definitely a menace.
Thank you as always. I have that exact same doubled sided tape and have "so so "much trouble using it as the white backing immediately comes off or I can't cut it. I so enjoyed this card, the way you did the body of the dragonfly!!
Hi Chtistine just thought i would let you know about the precision glue gun that you spoke of. I have problems with my hands and find glueing is a nightmare so i invested in said gun. Wow! It is fabulous and gives a really precise amount of glue. I got mine from Bumbleberry Crafts. x
It's a slashed heart diewhich I think is now retired. I believe Memory Box made one and Simon Says Stamp made one, but there may be others which are still available.
You definitely have more patience with those tiny pieces than I have. Beautifully done.
Thank you! 😊

Love these, especially the cogs and clock. I always struggle with masculine cards, as I think many do. So thank you for a fab idea 😊
You are so welcome!
I wondered if the sticky backs would come out with the tiny white bits and was holding my breath with anticipation… beautiful work
Thank you😊😊😊

I may have some wax jacket reproofer somewhere, who knows! Great thought!
Wow Christine. You have the patience of a Saint...but the card is amazing. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
🤗
Very elegant cards Christine and I don’t mind a fiddly die now and then when I have the time to play. 👏🙂
😄😄😄 sometimes it's fun, if we have plenty of time to play!❤️

I would never have thought of incorporating handcream with PVA, I really must try that some time. Thanks!❤️

Hi Christine,
I was wondering what you used to get the slashed affect on the first card you showed that had butterflies on? Both cards are fab 😊
It's a slashed heart diewhich I think is now retired. I believe Memory Box made one and Simon Says Stamp made one, but there may be others which are still available.
