What a great technique hack!!! I would actually use this with white cardstock words on black cardstock background to avoid all those tiny white specks. Thank you !!! 🎉🎉🎉👍🏻
After I saw this last weekend, I sent my son to Home Depot to buy flashing tape, drywall tape and clear packing tape! I’m so excited to use them with my sentiment dies! Such cool ideas!
This is such a cool trick! I honestly never heard of this, either. Maybe it's older than my stamping life (I've only been doing this seriously since 2013), and it just went out of vogue before then, so I never saw or heard it. Kind of like eyelets & decorative edge scissors, though I still have & use those! LOL So thank you for sharing! I have a roll of duct tape that's kind of a tie-dye Ikat design (best description I can come up with). I had used it instead of bookbinding tape for a traveler's notebook cover I made for Mama a few years ago. I only used a small piece for that, & the rest of the roll has been sitting on an ink storage unit in our craft room ever since. I don't know if the pattern is small enough for delicate dies, but I have some "chunky" word dies from Winnie & Walter that could work. I will have to try this. Thanks again. I hope y'all are still doing well. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
These are fantastic!! I remember seeing this done with the flashing tape I think that's what they call the silver one. The packing tape seems Vaguely Familiar but I can't recall actually having seen that done or doing it and I love it. I've got tons of packing tape. The other day I saw someone using a drywall tape but it was like a joint tape and it had perfect little circles in it to use as a "pokey" dot stencil. I can't remember if it was Lowe's or Home Depot that I saw it online so I totally need to get some of that I love me some Pokey dots!!
Hi thanks for sharing, hubby only had blak tape which worked well, so this got me thinking, I have lots of small bits of sticky vinyl tape so tried that too and it works great 😁 Now tried clear sticky tape on coloured card, worked well but not as embossed looking, but did not have packing tape so don't know if that would be thicker, thank you I am so loving this effect x
Have definitely used the foil tape this way agree an old technique, but a great one you can alcohol ink the foil tape also! And have used drywall tape. Dollar tree has some holographic duct tape
Rad tips...never heard of any of them, but doesn't the adhesive on those tapes gunk up your die cuts? Thank you for sharing!! Your snarky Christmas cards is also rad! Be well!
No -not at all - it's already totally bonded to the cardstock, so the die isn't exposed to the adhesive - think of cutting a laminated piece of cardstock - same thing, if that makes sense. Hugs!!
I watched your video last night and played in my craft room today. These ideas are absolutely BRILLIANT. Thanks so much for sharing!
Yay, thank you!
Genius! All these items are laying around the home, and you can re-purpose to achieve exciting results! Best is the packing tape, thank you
Totally agree!
Cool ideas. Thanks for sharing.

YESSSS the dreaded specks!!!
Absolutely BRILLIANT! I have never heard of this either!!!!!!
Thank you! It's a game changer!

Yes - I used drywall tape in the video - it's one of my fave tools!
Way cool & fun! I was familiar with the duct tape technique, however not the packing tape. I’m with you: that’s my favourite. Stay well 💕
It's so simple and awesome!
Thank you for all the great tips. Brilliant.
You are so welcome!
Genius!
Thanks for all of these tips. I do have several tapes that used to be in my hubby's work area, lol. Will give this a try soon.
Husbands are going to ban me hahah

Wow!!! I need to raid my hubby’s stuff!😂
You should!
Ultra quiet packing tape, hahahahahaha. Kind of like using toner foil when cutting out your small dies and words.
It's amazing - I'm so mad I used the loud stuff for half a century LOL
I'm not seeing the ultra-quiet packing tape in your supply list - do tell, because really, that noise is so annoying... thanks!
OMG I'm such a ding dong - I pasted a list that had nothing to do with this video LOL. Need sleep. I fixed it - thank you for letting me know!
😘🥰
Hugs!
