I had terrible trouble launching too high with irons and hybrids / anything off the ground, 3-5 degrees higher than PGA tour average. My fix, Address: Relax whole core and arms i.e. from hips up especially left side. Backswing: Left core takeaway (left hip to left shoulder disconnecting the arms), top of backswing left arm/shoulders continue. Downswing: Swing left core (left hip to left shoulder disconnecting the arms) open onto the ball, then left arm/shoulders left backhand down through ball away while open onto it, while spinning body inside to release. Drill: Let go of club with right hand and swing with left hand down only down through ball at impact swinging backhand down onto ball away with left hand only but must continue open spin onto ball with body as this is done. So three levels of disconnect, Body, Core, Arms with open onto ball left sided rotational movement and left hand backhand driven release while rotating open inside with whole body. Nobody understands what was just said :)
I’m commenting on the shallow arms video that looks like it was posted 9 months ago. The old technique taught “arm elevation” which I never could figure out. Just wondering if this new “flatter swing” fits one swing style and the elevated arms fits a different and what that difference is.
Ahhh gotcha. Ya this video is older. Check out the latest videos on the goat code and goat theory. There is a TON more content that has come out since this video

There in lies the rub. Most ams have a hard time separating the lower body from the upper, which is why the right side fires sooner than it should.

Very different than what you taught years ago. Should certain players stick to the old method?
How old you talking? This video is actually 5 years old
