  • Finally an end to nearly a year of lies and excuses from ‪@sigsauerinc‬ over their failure of a .22lr. Apparently, according to one of their "Team Lead" customer service reps, even their finance department can't manage to do their job properly. 🔴🔴FYI, I misspoke at the very beginning as far as purchase date, I purchased this P322 on April 22, 2022 like I summarized here 19:34 . July was the first interaction with Sig.🔴🔴

      Wire Fraud
      Wire fraud is a criminal offense under federal law. It involves any scheme to defraud another person that uses electronic communications, either across state lines or internationally. It is closely related to the federal offense of mail fraud, which involves any fraud offense committed with the use of the U.S. mail or other interstate carriers. The federal wire fraud statute specifically mentions wire, radio, and television communications, but it also includes many fraud offenses involving computers and the internet.
      Mail and Wire Fraud
      Key Fact
      Federal mail and wire fraud are essentially the same other than the method of communication used.
      Congress enacted the first mail fraud statute in 1872 as part of a revision of federal postal laws. The Supreme Court held in McNally v. United States that it applied to any act “designed to defraud by representations as to the past or present, or suggestions and promises as to the future.” In 1952, Congress enacted the wire fraud statute in order to extend the prohibitions on mail fraud to newer communications technologies. Courts have generally held that wire fraud is identical to mail fraud under federal law, except for the means of communication used. See United States v. Frey, 42 F.3d 795 (3d Cir. 1994).
      State criminal codes may address specific acts that could be considered wire fraud. The creation of electronic codes for use in fraudulently obtaining telephone service, for example, is a class D felony under New York law.
      Elements of Wire Fraud
      Different federal circuit courts have developed varying lists of elements that the prosecution must prove in order to obtain a conviction for wire fraud, but they are all substantially similar to each other. A prosecutor must prove all of the following beyond a reasonable doubt:
      The defendant was part of a scheme to defraud another person, such as by obtaining money or something else of value through false pretenses;
      The defendant acted knowingly or with intent to defraud;
      The defendant made false representations that were material to the scheme to defraud; and
      The defendant transmitted a material misrepresentation by wire, radio, or television communications in interstate or foreign commerce.
      A person may be found guilty of wire fraud even if he or she never actually defrauded anyone, and even if he or she did not personally send a fraudulent wire, radio, or television transmission. The state must prove that the defendant intended to defraud someone, or acted with knowledge that wire communications were being used to transmit fraudulent representations. It is also sufficient for the state to prove that the defendant caused the use of a wire transmission in order to commit or further the fraudulent scheme, even if the defendant did not intend the specific transmission, if it was reasonably foreseeable “in the ordinary course of business.” Pereira v. United States, 347 U.S. 1, 8 (1954).
      Examples of Wire Fraud
      Since a key element in mail and wire fraud prosecutions is the means by which fraudulent statements are conveyed, wire fraud cases include almost any type of fraud-based offense, such as insurance fraud, bank fraud, or tax fraud. A list of fraud investigations for fiscal year 2013 from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) shows a wide range of cases, involving matters like statements made to investors in an alleged Ponzi scheme, allegedly fraudulent claims on a warranty for business equipment, and electronic bank transfers allegedly intended to further a tax evasion scheme.

      I bought a sig 226 I had severe accuracy problems and then I started getting a flat spot on top and the end of the barrel, I took it back were I bought it and I work part time in the archery department but have a lot of friends in the gun department the manager contacted them and he pretty much came back with a threat telling how much it will cost if its found that it's my fault, we sent it back about a month later they send it back with no explanation I shot 50 rounds and started getting a flat spot on the barrel again . I took it back sent it in after about another month I get it back with another barrel and they said they put new sights on it they said the sight came loose and caused damage I never saw wear Mark's anywhere and believe me I checked with a magnifying glass because I knew it was rubbing somewhere who knows what caused it but it was the last sig I ever bought. If I didn't have friends in the gun department I probably wouldn't have gotten anything done.

    These kinds of experiences, though unfortunate and avoidable, need to be shared. They will learn the hard way that pulling stunts like this will cost them thousands. Had they really fixed the problem or offered a refund at the beginning, they'd probably still have you as a customer. Now, they've lost many more. I have a couple of Sigs, I like them, but customer service and follow up are key and I'm not willing to risk duplicating your experience, so no more Sigs. I had an issue with my Kimber after somewhere between 5000 to 10000 rounds fired through it. Their rep asked a couple of questions about which parts I needed, clarified the design differences, sent the part that day or the next. Problem solved. I was surprised at the " no charge" fix. Crimson Trace is like that as well. Stellar.

Even Ruger has good customer service. Had a problem with the LCP max when they first came out, 2 weeks later had it back with 2 extra mags. I was going to buy a p322 when they first came out but I waited when I saw your videos and others about this issue. I just ended up getting a P17 and a TX22 for the price of the Sig. After watching your 2nd test video on the P322 I took mine out to the range again and ran a full 150 rounds through it and inspected the bore and sure enough it was leading up bad near the muzzle. I cleaned it and placed it back in case. When a local dealer finally got a few of the Kel-Tec P-17 in stock I took my P322 down and traded even for a P-17. Took a big $ hit on that trade but It was worth it. I now have close to 500 rounds through the P-17 and the barrel is dirty for sure but you can still see the lands and grooves all the way to the muzzle. Two swipes with a brush and cloth and the barrel is shiny again. Nothing even close to the way the bore looked on the P322 after only 150 rounds.

    Funny, I had dealing with Bradshaw before. I have a Sig Cross that the extractor fell out and jammed the action. I told SIG exactly what happened and got the song and dance that I was all my fault and I would have to pay for any shipping and repairs, due to this being a used firearm. He was hinting the bolt most likely would need to be replaced. I replied that a fellow SIG cross owners happened to be on the range with me and observed what happened , the range safety officer on site when this happened, also talkingwith my FFL, and my son a former Marine Combat Engineer/Instructor and now works at an FFL selling SIGs all agree that anything I done would not have lead to this failure. Had some more feedback until I stated “Well I guess I can reply to NutnFancy and tell him of another potential issue with the Cross.” Next thing I heard was “Please hold.” Followed by “We are sending you a RMA covering your shipping. Since this is a used firearm would you agree to pay a nominal shop fee?” To which I agreed. It is a shame you have to threaten bad publicity before you can get customer service!

    I had the EXACT same leading issues with my P322. After I sent it in it took TEN WEEKS for SIG to return it to me. I called weekly and they had a different BS excuse why they hadn’t returned it to me. I heard “Engineering is working on the issue” so many times it was sickening! I’ve had nothing but trouble with SIG from my SIG Cross, P320 and now the P322. I’m done with SIG and I let everyone I know in the shooting sports how bad they are!

Sig should take good care of their customers, I'm sure you have purchased your last firearm from them. I can't help but think when they machine (broach) the barrel it was massively out of tolerance. I do wonder if they have corrected the problem yet? I actually held a P322 at the gun store just the other day, It felt really good. So I came home and started checking reviews on the gun as I really liked its size. I am so glad I saw your very documented video calling them out on their handling of your situation. Not a SIG fan because I bought SIG Mosquito and it was total junk, but let me tell you about a problem I had with a Ruger American Target 17HMR. It wouldn't eject so I called Ruger and the lady asked if I would be willing to change the extractor myself. I said sure, and had one in two days. That didn't fix the problem so I called Ruger back, and while I was on the phone with Ruger I got an RMA emailed to me. Sent it back, and two weeks later I got an email that they were sending me out a new gun and wanted my FFL information. That is top notch customer service in my opinion. I have always been a fan of Ruger and that experience solidified my stance.

    I will definitely think twice about buying a Sig Sauer in the future. It’s unfortunate because I like their products as a whole. However, the risk of having a problem can happen and I wouldn’t want to have to go through what you did. I have followed this saga from start to finish and 100% agree that had you not had your channel, not have been so firm, and not have the firearm knowledge that you have they would have basically made you accept the gun as it was. The worst part is that it’s truly a dangerous issue and the Smith&Wesson 22 compact that I have is so I could teach my 12 year old daughter how to shoot and handle a simi-auto handgun. Not a good situation for a child if it were to have a catastrophic failure or anyone for that matter. We aren’t talking about sights falling off here. This was a new gun, with you being the from the factory only owner and they wouldn’t just make it right and replace the firearm. There are companies like Ruger who don’t care if you are the 50th owner; they will make whatever your problem is right. It’s sad because it’s not that hard to stand behind your products. What it really seems to be is a company culture issue at the heart and that is normally ingrained.

    I feel your pain. At least you got it resolved in less than a year. I bought one of the first runs of the Taurus TX22 with the poorly made barrel that leaded up with less 100 rounds. They did not want the pistol back, they admitted there were problems with the batch of barrels. They stated call back later we are working on the problem. Finally I got to get on the waiting list as a new company was making the barrel. I got on the waiting list, a month later a friend of mine got on the waiting list. Six weeks later his barrel showed up in the mail, I called and complained. The people Taurus had no clue nor could care less why I had not received by barrel yet. About two months I got my new barrel. It seems when they got the new improved barrels in, only a small lot of them were going to customers with the bad barrels, the rest were going to the production line for new pistols. You would think they would have taken care of customers with problems first. Sig usually does not admit they have problems with any of their firearms. Just like the first run of the 365s, luckily they snatched most of those back up from the wholesalers before they were shipped to gun stores. I thought about buying one of those P322, but I remembered the Mosquitos that my friends purchased years ago. I figure I would wait a while before buying one. Thanks for posting this video.

    Thank goodness for these videos. I came very close to buying a P 322 this week. Really liked the idea of 20 rounds and the reputation of Sig!

    The second I opened that envelope and seen the check I’d went straight to the post office oh no no that crap wouldn’t fly with me. I’d drove to the Sig plant if I’d had to.

    Well now this was a interesting and it's just horrible the way that you were treated and the experience that you had overall with the p322. However I still stand by my p322 and I have fired probably 3500 rounds of all different types of ammo through mine. I do not even clean mine as often as I should and I will guarantee you there is no leading issues with mine whatsoever.

    Thank you for your follow through. You literally gave them every chance to fix it. Really makes you hesitant to believe in them. So sorry you had to endure this BS but thanks for documenting the process. I'm sure other people are having the same problem.

      Also, my boys both have a Taurus TX22 and they both have easily 5,000 rounds each since 2019, shot a shit ton of lead nose and NEVER had a leaded barrel. Just fwiw..

    It makes me a little sad to watch this. Many years ago, I don't remember how many. But more than thirty five, I bought a P220 and thought it was one of the finest guns in my collection, and it was. After somewhere around 30 to 35 thousand rounds, it broke. As of now, I can't remember what part broke, but a few other parts were quite worn. I called Sig and they had me send it back to them. They told me that they ran it through their custom shop, repaired it, and to my disbelief, it was an even better gun than it was when new. It cost me $128.00. plus shipping. That was maybe 7-8 years ago. Quite frankly, I haven't seen anything they have had on the market that I like for many years. But I will always cherish this P220. It is still my favorite hand gun. Sad to think that their customer service has gone that way.

    I can't blame them... Its probably annoying trying to deal with petty problems leading in 22 barrels when you still have P320's firing by themselves while holstered and Cross bolt-actions hang firing until you touch the bolt handle to extract the round and then *BOOM*
    Sig thanks you for participating in their streamlined testing and evaluation process.
    I will NEVER buy a new Sig.
