When I restored my dad's Nylon 66 it had been shot for more than 30 years without ever once being cleaned, and the barrel had less lead-fouling than that gun after 40 rounds lol.
If you haven't watched any of the older videos in this saga, check it out, because you should see how freaking bad that barrel gets after a couple hundred rounds.

I’m glad you are being reimbursed and getting rid of that P.O.S . Sad thing is you are not the only UA-cam channel showing this same issue with this model. I personally don’t see myself buying a sig in the future. Seems like every new model they produce goes out into the hands of the public with issues. That just SUCKS!!!. I’m sorry to see you go through this. Mine leaded up on the first time I took it to the range also. I had seen your video so I was on the lookout for the issue. Thank God you had your video cause I’m newer to guns and honestly I would have never known. I’d probably still be shooting it in a (like you said) unsafe condition. I cleaned mine. very well and went back to the range and the same thing happened. Also please don’t take offense to this, I’m glad you got your money back but there are hundreds, maybe thousands of us that have the same issue and we’re not going to get squat because we don’t have a UA-cam channel. I’m not mad at you Sir, I’m mad at Sig. I was waiting to see how your service ended up. I’m not going to send mine back and forth several times either. I was considering the P322 as a potential replacement for a couple of Glock G44s that have major issues with failure to eject. 2 new G44s in Kate November and one has been back to Glock and most internal parts were replaced but still having some ejection problems regardless of the dozen different rounds we have shot. The other G44 is currently back to Glock for a second time, first time they said it was fine, since it’s still fails to eject properly about 15% of the time AND we had some leading in the barrel too where we couldn’t get the bore brush all the way through. Sent all ammo tests and rounds fired shot by shot. About 2000 rounds through each gun but based on your video I will not replace it with a sig.

I know this video is over a year old now but I wanted to comment. I feel for you - you paid good money for a functional gun. I’ve seen the other vids and follow ups and see you’ve got rid of the gun now - so at least you’ve got a resolution.
I’m still curious what the issue could be. Replacing the barrel should have fixed the issue. It can’t be that all the barrels are bad. It seems there is only a subset of guns with the issue. I can appreciate the frustration.
My 322 doesn’t exhibit this behavior and I’ve let it go to 1000 rds before cleaning it and it didn’t experience and such lead fouling or plugging. It remained perfectly functional and accurate shooting many brands/types of ammo - automatch, blazer, cci, subsonic, supersonic , copper washed or plain lead - no issues. I don’t know how there’s such a huge discrepancy between perfectly functional 322’s and ones that lead up. I don’t deny that the leading exists but I can’t get my head around how some get leaded and some don’t. That this gun had the barrel replaced and still had the issue seems super unlucky.

Had similar problems. Taurus Spectrum sent back 4X before being replaced by Taurus. I had to drive to FedEx and had range and ammo fees to test each time. Then a few weeks ago I bought a Ruger Wrangler and it jammed. Sent to Ruger and returned in a week. When it came back right out of the box when the gun was cocked it screached and squeaked loudly. I called them on the phone and they heard it and said needs to come back so not checked properly before it was sent back. Again now I had to drive to UPS and then FedEx the second time, also ammo the first time and range fee. Don't know what is going on with these gun companies and their repair practices. What a horrible, unfunny joke. I will not be purchasing a new Sig until the company takes the appropriate steps to PROPERLY repair your P322 (as well as the multiple others which have the same issue) or buy it back. They have a known issue, so at this point it appears that their strategy is to just keep pretending they are actually doing something until the folks who have bad ones just get tired of dealing with them and "go away". Not a sound plan, especially with social media being as ubiquitous as it is. If you don't have one, I highly recommend grabbing a KelTec P17. Ugly plastic cheapness that is the most fun pewpew I own...accurate, great trigger, surprisingly good sights, and the least muzzle rise I've ever experienced.

Well, as you said they did make it right in the end, but it was like pulling teeth. Just guessing, but they probably had a run of barrels that were out of spec, but just put them out in the field, hoping all would be fine.

I just can’t believe SIG will not come clean on this issue we are seeing here. I agree with you I have shot hundreds of rounds of .22LR out of my Ruger 22/45 lite, Browning Buckmark, Walther P22, Ruger Single Six 22LR/22WMR and so on. Sure they get dirty and need cleaned but never a leading issue such as this. You should not have to go to that extreme to get clarity and results from SIG. Hope to see you get your refund.There-is just no way that P322 should be leading up like that after so few rounds. And that comment about the rear sight damage was un-called for. Almost seems to me they were pushing back a little thinking the gun was abused. I know better you are just as compassionate with your guns as I am with my own. Thanks for the huge update and let us know the final outcome. Much appreciated my friend. Be safe.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yeah, I figured either they were trying to say I did something to break it or one of them broke it and were just trying to cover up for themselves. It was basically brand new. I was so aggravated I forgot to even say something about it on the call.😆😆😆

I would have run more ammo through it….enough to show how bad the leading gets to emphasize the problem and make it very clear.

What’s crazy is I got rid of my Sig Tac ops because a R.I.P load expanded the barrel at the muzzle. Sig tired the same song and dance back & forth send backs with the third send back having an engineer telling me you need a barrel 😵‍💫😵‍💫 no 💩 that’s why you have it!!! Unfortunately I’ll never buy a Sig product again.

Much thanks for your review and follow up regarding the Sig Sauer P322 leading and customer service issues. Based on your work and that of Nutnfancy, I canceled my order for a SS P322 and am buying a Taurus TX22 Competition instead. I will now have three Taurus' in firearms inventory and no Sig Saurers.

I just bought one a few weeks ago. I put 100 rounds of Thunderbolt ammo through it and other then a few failures to feed no leading. After seeing your video I put another 150 rounds of Aguila 40gr bulk ammo through it and I had about 3 failures to feed but no leading. I'm gonna leave the gun dirty and see what happens after I dump the rest of the 500 round bulk pack of Aguilas.

Too bad, but thanks for keeping us updated.......it is a real fun gun at the range....have had no real issues with it, after initial break-in.........taken it out 4 times and over 2000 rounds........I clean it thoroughly after every trip to the range and lube it generously.......I found the CCI standard velocity to work flawlessly...........my first two magazines I shot did have some loading/firing issues, but after that flawless........I used 20 rounds of Winchester and that ammo created the only 4 misfires I have had during first time at the range.......

It's unbelievable the crap you went through. I have owned a few Sigs and only have a 226 now. All mine are 20 years or more old. I will not buy a Sig from the 365 issues, then the 320 and now this one. Sig fan boys will stick with them but it only takes a few lemons and customers will not come back. At least I won't. Take care and thanks for showing this info is much needed

WOW! Well if that don't chap yer hide, I don't know what will! It may not be the experience every P322 owner has, but what's that got to do with it? Plus as others have said in comments on your other videos, and as other UA-camrs have documented, you're not alone in seeing inordinate amounts of leading in a P322 barrel. And how many barrels were put on your gun? Two additional barrels besides the original? And they all had the same problem? Sorry you had to go through this, Brian, but I'm definitely steering clear of *this* gun. Thanks for all you do, man!

I bought a Taurus TX22, out of the box, didn't clean it, over 700 rounds through it, zero jams, zero failures, zero leading, and still haven't cleaned it. Been wanting to see where that point is where I do have to clean it lol. The fact they sent you back the barrel with lead in it and claimed they checked it is ridiculous. I can give them credit for sounding patient about it but I will add if you didn't mention you were documenting this on UA-cam with 1,000s of views I bet they wouldn't have helped. That said just like any gun sometimes you do indeed get lemons unfortunately where as others get absolute gems.

I wish that they had just told you this originally. Maybe customer service doesn't know. 22lr comes in different projectile diameters. In the US we use narrower diameter 22lr projectiles. In Europe they tend to use wider diameter 22lr projectiles. You are using a pistol designed for wide diameter projectiles with ammo that has a narrower projectile. The result is gas blow by. That's what is leading your barrel. My Sig Misquito is the same way. My Mosquito requires CCI ammunition or it won't even cycle because it needs wider diameter 22lr. I hope this was helpful.
