Will be adding more credits timestamps and subtitles as time goes on! I ask of you to *PLEASE* share this video, like and comment, as it should gather as much engagement as possible so it can reach Fromsoft!
Wait until certain players see this. They'll want to shoot it down as fast as possible. How else are they gonna be able to do easy rune farming with 3 on 1 fights? Playing fair just isn't fun for them. They like winning, and that's it.
4:38 That whole snippet spoke to my soul. I wish they would make covenant areas in Elden Ring!! That's why DS3 was amazing with their PvP. If you were ember'd in Aldrich, it was a fun night. I'd be up for hours when I have free time and just stay there. Ended up getting over 100+levels just from the invasions alone. But Miyazaki already stated taht he wanted the invaders to just make things more difficult, not for them to actually kill the hosts. Its stupid. If they increase the player limit to six, rework furlcall, and prevent hosts from disabling taunters tongue, I would never stop playing ER. Colosseum is great and all, but I wanna have these 3v3's in OPEN WORLD. You know, where the majority of the game takes hold? Still, thank you for touching on that subject because not many people understand. They just say some toxic lines like git gud or something and not actually debate the topic with me. Nice to know someone can speak on matters that are important. You'll always get a like from me XD
I would share this video If I have some one who play this game too🥺 I never even spoke with someone who play this game in real life.🙁 Only people who I can speak about this game are here on UA-cam 🫢
Most of those points are very agreeable. For me personally, the missing player solo-invasions is not one of those points. 🥱 By ensuring that there is a way to play Eldenring in complete PvE fashion you have a much more relaxed playthrough for people who care about such things. You must not feel obligated to entertain someone with a meta-build and no style, utter repetitiveness and the newest exploits to kill you while you just want to live in the moment, without having to watch the newest guides every patch or so. 😏 I pulled the plug a few times in "Lords of the Fallen" too just recently and I felt... nothing. Only annoyance that I had to do it. Cause I liked the idea of "avenging" my fellow Lampbearers but not to play host for unwanted annoyances. 😑 And the PvP in the newest Lords SUXX. I cannot stand "Flasks" anymore, wether they contain Estus, Tears, Urin or something else. Quick solutions please - no healing by all purpose flasks. Eldenring's PvP is so-so for me. But I like how I must not always unplug & plug just to assure I can enjoy and take in the beauty of the Lands Between in peace. 😌👌 Not like there is a stressless time in Lords anyway. Damn did I feel on the clock in Lords. Eldenring truly is the King of the souls-likes for now. Unsurprisingly. And I really give a damn if "surprise PvP" are called Invasions or something else. *_" I do not consent to random 'Invasions' unto my immersion. "_* 😎 Consent yes. Invited yes. Barging in, no. Smug entitled wannabe's, no. There will not be a single game ever that forces someone to engage in PvP. Not as long as people know which cable to unplug. No one can ever truly be forced. To try and shame people into letting outsiders dictate how their next seconds or minutes play out in a souls-like, is a meaningless act that does not serve much purpose. I respect it when players enjoy that. Now I hope those respect the one's who don't. If not... well... I have the violence monopol of disconnecting. And I am not ashamed to use it. Love how I did not had to in Eldenring. That was very nice for me. 🙏 Also I won about 80% of my PvP battles or so. So no I'm not someone afraid of the _'evil red boogyman'._ 😁
I honestly think rune arcs should not be rare and you need to co-op or invade to acquire them at all they should be more available like embers and humanity etc
@@TheDoomsdayzoner Oh please, you have to farm fowl feet, you have to respec which requires larval tears, not sure if you payed attention to the video but there's only 17 per playthrough, just to farm the runes, the rate is way too low, and just because YOU Don't value your time and are willing to waste time farming an item to farm another item Does NOT mean everyone else thinks so lowly of themselves. Don't judge others by your low standards of pride because most people probably don't think as lowly of themselves as you do.
5:14 WTF ??? This knock door noise is SO FKING REALISTIC. Even when I realisez it was on the video after 5minutes scratching my head and wondering how someone would have knock to my window even if I'm at the 5th floor, every time I ear it I look behind me (back right exactly !) to check if there is someone. WTF
As a casual coop helper, I can assure you that the host's buddies are often less skilled than the invaders, as the latter is actively looking for pvp battles and the former just wants to help.
Ah yes, so that's why when you invade you always face the same Rivers of Blood, Mohg Spear and Blasphemous Blade trio waiting just to bully the invader... Right. Invaders also lack skill when they begin so...
People talk about weapons co op players use like they can't use them and after all the balancing, no weapon is broken unless they've built around a certain few but it's not like that option isn't open to the invader? The point of the invader is to get creative. As much as you have to deal with 3 over powered phantoms, invaders have enemies they can use to their advantage. I feel too many invaders just bitch because they want an ez victory over a single player when as the aggressor you should be made to work for it.
I severely miss Spirit Ash 3v3's when the Colosseum first came out, was chaotic fun in the best way, even with broken builds all over the place spamming stuff. Being chased by Rollo while seeing someone run away from Deenh and a bunch of Rats was absolutely comical, and the mode seems completely dead nowadays even on different levelled characters, sadly.
the summons were so weak, and were basically just an annoyance. it was fun for 5 mins until the novelty wore off, and it shows, as it was the first mode to lose activity
@@gabagandalfoftheweed So a personal choice rat kings? As rat kings lures people into their world and had enemies in the rat king areas actively hunt down invaders; fighting along side the Rat king host who they were neutral to.
@@Warcrafter4 Yes. Except Gravelords would also cause souped up black phantom variants of regular mobs to spawn in the worlds of other players until they get killed. Like imagine the Oleg+11 from Castle Sol with invader aura, but in Stormveil (sth that would even demolish max Lv cooperators with ease)
people talk smack about ds2, but between the bridge, rewards from interesting covenants and my personal favorite, earning the nahr alma robes and big red glow was such a rewarding feeling. I swear the glow made you feel more powerful, I'm pretty sure the blues could get it too. I miss my dang ol' aura and chaos blade.
Golem Arrows, Arteria Leaves, Trinas lily's, great dragon head, toxic mushroom and other rare items should be available in such a shop, i never used golem arrows or rot pots because the items are so rare
@@YokaiGothaIDK, I feel pots are supposed to be things you can only cheese a handful of bosses with. I ran out of Frost Pots for Malenia and it forced me to learn to land charged R2s on her. Besides, Rotten Breath is the superior rot option. Dont ask me why the devs added two tiers of rot and didnt name one differently. I love the antspur rapier but it is also inferior.
@@hardgay7537 You can freely farm rimed crystal bulbs in the snow fields as they both respawn near the giant trees and are an uncommon drop from wandering nobles in the snow fields. Ps. - One invader for each coop player (+1 with taunter) - Fix host's fog walling shenanigans - Seamless coop.. no more dumb zone barriers or having to rejoin - If possible, disable invasions in AFK spots.. or disconnect someone sitting their ass for more then 1 hour... idk.. - Disable invader friendly fire... If I can't hit my ally, neither should them
Damn good video. Couldn't have said it better myself. PVP still needs a lot of work. I really appreciate what you've done here. It seems like you've bridged the gap between the PVP and the PVE community a bit.
@@iRunKids imagine crying while having an infinite amount of resummons and blues, while also having rune arc, double the amount of estus and time to prepare. Oh my god thats so reddit
@@Aeostorm I don't have any friends, which is why I have to co-op with randos, but it's hard to find people. No one cares about dying in Dark Souls, but they don't like when a drug-addled man child such as yourself behaves like the trailer trash you really are. It's kind of like a culture shock, most people are not usually exposed to the meth'd out trashy lifestyle that you just assume is normal.
4:20 Bit of a correction for DS2’s human effigies/hollowing system: It will restore your hp back to its maximum value if you’ve died or gone hollow via cursed pots since death/hollowing reduces your maximum HP. It doesn’t function like Ds3’s Embers however hollowing does have some MinMaxing potential in DS2 builds that incorporate Forlorn equipment and the dark pyromancy flame which all have a hidden scaling with how hollowed you are. Player is otherwise incentivized to use them in PVE to regain their maximum Hp again.
Dark Souls 2 PVP was damn amazing. The covenants specifically...the rat and Bell Tower covenants were amazing. The Iron Keep Bridge was also pretty awesome, as it was the go to place for PVP. Ever since Dark Souls 3 the PVP has been a bit flat specifically because the invader is almost always at such a severe disadvantage. At the least, there should be a solo version of the taunters tongue that allows the host to be invaded when alone. This would allow for more PVP, and allow people who want to be more frequently invaded could be more frequently invaded... The Rune Arc idea is also a good idea.
One problem I have with what was said about the run shop is the availability of it being after ng+, that would raise the meta rune level for invasions. So instead of 125 it would be at 200 or somewhere higher than 125 as people with low skills would raise their level in order to not die as often while in ng+. If the rune shop would be available at the beginning of ng+ than that would be better as players are already around meta after beating the game anyways
Yes beating the game once should allow access to the rune shop because there are people whole like me search every nook and cranny defeated every boss did every dungeon put in 100+ hours and I had almost throw away runes to stay around meta levels, seeing as there hardly anything worth buying with runes.
Not enough competition for FromSoft to care. They rake in enough money with the formula they currently have - no reason to step outside of their comfort zone.
I don't do PvP , but I've seen everything since day 1 so let's get the obvious ones out of the way 1 : Status effects : imma be real here, I dunno WHAT can be changed about them but bleed builds have been bonkers since the beginning 2 : Possible weapon category changes? : Great spears carry while maces and axes suck, katanas are op while flails don't have anything going for them, perhaps add one or two unique features to the while weapon class to make it more useful That's about what I can think off, I'll let the more experience Pvper's leave the good comments
Honestly, I feel that there should not be any exclusive rewards to PVP, as it could lock players who don't want to or can't partake in PVP out of a corner of the world, like how you couldn't complete Varre's questline before Magnus was put in after people complained about it. Also, love the Mummy 2 reference, I really like that movie.
For me personally, covenants and their rewards, especially in DS3 and DS1, lured me into dabbling with pvp and I was by no means a hardcore pvp andy, but the feature alone and grindable rewards were enough to keep me at it and also enjoy it (at most times). Fightclubs at DS3 release made me literally addicted to pvp for quite some time, playing 8h+ pvp only at times, the most I ever did in a souls game. Having people stand around the arena and watch you fight and clap and boo was just so cool. And I fondly remember how I was lured into playing DS1 altogether all these years back. A buddy of mine showing me the game got invaded while he played and I was struck by awe by the sheer possibility of this, another player hijacking your game to throw a wrench into your hard earned progress. I laughed and said "That's so fucked and unfair" and proceeded to run home and buy the game. Literally every single of these feature being absent in Elden Ring did make me disappointed, ngl, despite it being the masterpiece it is.
In my experiences when I join a world as a blue summon 9 times out of 10 when I am summoned the red invader is already dead or I get summoned half way across the map having to sprit my ass there as fast as i can only to see the battel is over making me wonder why i even have it on in the first place.
same as invasions in some places, you spawn only for 0.1532 seconds later the host entering the boss room and you go back to waiting only for it to happen again 5 times in a row
I decided to play again today on PC and this was my exact experience: invade within 10 seconds of the host fog walling or a starting area fight club. It's just not interesting especially considering how powerful AoW combos are and how latency makes a lot of roll catches not work
I don’t mind invading into situations where I’m outnumbered. Part of the invader skillset is understanding the level and knowing how to bait their opponents into fights they can’t win. That all goes out the window when you invade somewhere in the open world where enemies are not only more sparse and generally weaker, but there’s also way more open space where they can better leverage their numerical advantage. Don’t understand what the balance philosophy is of getting to invade First Step gankers, especially after they’ve already killed Tree Sentinel
so newcomers to the series can feel good about themselves while exploiting those in the community that just want to play their souls game and end up dealing with that. The open world design was one of the worst decisions FS ever made, both from a pvp and a pve standpoint
@@Getsumei_Marson that’s mainly because you’re often forced to kill the host as quickly as possible before they can summon help again. I think a good fix is that hosts shouldn’t be able to get reinforcements for free; if they want to resummon their buddy after they’ve already been killed, they should have to either kill the invader, or have another one of their summons die just as a kind of saving throw. And there should be an absolute max of one blue per invader
For anyone curious, the background music is called "End of Small Sanctuary" from the Silent Hill 3 OST, made by Akira Yamaoka, at the beginning of the video. Honestly, OnlyWaifu's music selection is to mine. I'm very biased.
One thing that would be awesome is loadout presets. Instead of having to respec over and over, every time you respec it could give an option to save a new preset. This would go for stats, weapons, quick items, and even apparel!
I will say the one thing that is missing from this list is a system to prevent invasion / co-op spirt twinking as I know many players early on in the the game that hate invasions because they got invaded by a dude with endgame gear/spells both providing both an unfair advantage and spoiling gear/spells they haven't seen yet.
Whatever balance changes may come, I believe that the biggest problem are Invaders not acting accordingly to the level they invade and thus destroying every interest newer players might develop on PvP. Most of them are just plain annoyed by overtwinked Invaders and thus never even consider trying it out themselves. The lower the level range I invade, the more I restrict myself. Especially when using starting gear only it often seems to me like the Host is actively telling his overleveled buddy to stay back so they can try fight me solo, which I think is great! If you look like a Twinky, you get ganked way more often and rightfully so! But I also believe that Invaders are not supposed to win through equality per design. Invasions are supposed to be a challenge, not a fair fight.
Honestly furcalling finger remedy giving some sort of pve bonus would be such a good change. Maybe like 10-15% HP maybe as a slight HoT like 10 seconds to a limit of 3 per effigy area or something like that. (Idk what exact numbers to make it balanced I'm just some dude but I fucking love the concept) It would be nice as like top off heal which is exactly what you need a lot of the time when your just kinda exploring which is prime time to find summon signs. That would a be tiny, easy to make change, that would have massive benefits to both PvE and PvP. I really hope something like that gets implemented
DS2 was the best Souls pvp wise because some of it's more BS mechanics, like slow estus and punishable fog walls were designed around pvp in mind to make it a more balanced experience and that, alongsides it's unique concepts and ideas, makes it VERY good and replayable
Im surprised nobody else has found out you can just kill the big ball near the mimic tear chest under the bridge for a decent chance for an extra larval tear Ive gotten atleast 4 from it I killed it maybe 6 times and got a total of 4 larval tears counting the first guaranteed one
It doesn’t respawn though, right? Meaning you have to be lucky enough to find someone in co-op who hasn’t killed theirs, and join up with them to kill it with them? Or did something change?
@@MajinOkabeit respawns some dont I think but I know the one next to the mimic chest absolutely does respawn and does have a high chance to drop more larval tears
@@SketchSkarLive tested it. It’s been patched out. Does not drop any after the first kill. Just killed 20 in a row with 243 item discovery. Also a quick google reveals it’s patched.
Multiplayer is probably screwed. The balance will be rebroken when the dlc comes out. Only so many people play coop so the invasion pool will be low. Low supply/high demand. The pve side will probably be very fun though.
Here are some ideas for covenant rank rewards since I don't think any items should be gated behind covenants like in the past (because people should join a covenant for the roleplay, not grinding items): - Joining covenant would turn your phantom into a unique looking phantom for that covenant (similar to how joining Sun Bros your Co-Op phantom would be changed from white to gold). - Rank 1 could give you a unique UI related to that covenant. - Rank 2 could 'upgrade' your phantom in a way, like giving a unique death animation (ie. if you belonged to 'White Masks' covenant, there could be a blood pool you come out from while summoned, and also you could splatter into a pool of blood when defeated), or maybe an effect to your phantom (like having a slight blood dropping effect on your phantom, in case you are a rank 2 member of the hypothetical 'White Masks' covenant). - Rank 3 could be a repeatable level up, where each time you level up, you'd get a small generic boost of sorts which would last until you die (generic because all the covenants should have the same effect in order to prevent power gaming), like either giving you a small buff or maybe making your flask more potent. Note that one more thing I'd is that each time a member of your covenant ranks up, there could be some unique multiplayer interaction triggered, similar to how other players could hear the bell ring in DaS 1, but each covenant would have an unique interaction of their own.
about the open world multiplayer interactions, fs could implement the ds2 effigy system, where you would have to burn one of them and it would give you 30 of no multiplayer interactions, no co-op, no invasions, and you could cancel it on the bonfire. for ER i would increase the timer to 1h, because, well, the game is really big and to complete it takes you a lot of time.
Maybe they could add covenants for the different Great Runes. Ranking up unlocks - apart from the usual rewards like rare weapons, spells and talismans - the use of Great Runes for invasions and co-op, in some cases improves their effects as well as change the aura of the player while playing as phantom. And of course, have covenant rank as requirement to unlock different Rune Arc shops
What about partnering up with the Japanese player base to better get fromsoftware’s attention? That way they would know these suggestions are universally requested.
Re Covenants - I feel like some of the side quests, especially Varre's and the Volcano Manor assassinations, were meant to end in joining a Covenant, but they ran out of time. I am hopeful with Shadow of the Erdtree taking so long to come together that they really put some polish into the multiplayer in terms of all the "quality of life" issues.
I'd settle for a 5 player limit and the TT being locked once used. But more importantly I'm impressed by and proud of the community for its efforts to improve ER.
The things I want the most for PvP arena are better connections and the ability to have combat ordeal with an uneven number of players. 3-or-5 player free-for-alls are what I would want the most.
Such a pleasure to be a part of the scripting for this video. Great job onlywaifu! And thanks to Gabri for organizing this project. Can’t wait for part 2!
I liked how I could be online to see the messages AND be great runed up without the fear of getting invaded. Many invaders just want to mess up some pve player's day. Thank god for seamless coop.
I personally feel that the finger remedy was incorporated just fine due to how the game is set up since there are npc summons for certain boss fights you can play the boss “by yourself” I realized it after playing dark souls remastered. Dark souls 1 and 3 summons depended on npc questlines just like how it is in Elden ring i never even realized the barbarian woman from the round table could be summoned for Godrick if I remember correctly. You don’t have to use the online item to see signs unless they are online players. Just like how In dark souls 1 if you used the item to summon multiple different characters then you will finally be able to see online players (which are actually very rare now for some reason🤷🏻♂️ Edit: I apologize to anyone reading this I am very intoxicated so it is a little hard to write properly lol
1. Yeah frame data needs to be looked at, where powerstance is faster or equal start up speed for attacks, colossal weapons need to be as fast as colossal swords, just as hammers/ axes are for swords and the great variation. The example is duel spears which have 16 frames start up for L1 when single spear is 19. All powerstance moveset must be atleast slower. 2. Jar Arsenal and erdtree talisman need some of nerf where it should be used to help primarily to carry more or heavier weapons and not be a free armour dump. For example make it so jar Arsenal increases equip load by 24% but increase armour weight by 20% while setting light roll to 35% requirement. They also need to adjust the weight of heavy hats and chest upwards and gauntlets and greaves downwards to promote fashion. 3. Lots of medium armour have abnormally low elemental defence compared to other equips of the same weight. Best example is looking at 5.1 chest armour where the altered Duelist tops or any chest armour with exposed arms have so much less elemental defence than cloth stuff. 4. There needs to be severe downscaling which involves downscaling of weapon level as well as stats for pass word summons. Yellows should be 1 somber level lower than the host. 5. Lots of weapons and weapon skills need stat requirement balancing as well as changed scaling and scaling, as well as nerfs and buff to promote weapon diversity. Greatsword colossal needs to be made a quality weapon, so more people will use stuff like watchdogs colossal sword where the later needs to have corrected base damage for strength. Things like Moonveil need frame data nerf on unsheathe stance, light and heavy, a 40% damage reduction, poise damage reduction, but add a function where spending 100 FP from sorcery will charge the blade to deal 120% damage for the next ash with double projectile range. Blasphemous Blade needs reduced damage, removed passive a den active lifesteal, have it spawn a lava pull like magma blades. Cleanrot Rapier needs to have balance quality scaling be made 4.5 weight, have much reduced base damage and have it where it increase ash of war of somber holy weapons by 8% if used in the left hand. Antspur rapier to be changed to poison and be strength scaling. Sacred relic sword to cost hp to use say 300 and have 10% reduced damage and it’s wide radius reduced from I think 90 degrees to 75 degrees. These are just some examples. 6. Lots of chest, hats, shield with special effects need to be nerfed as they too limit build diversity. Raptors black feathers chest needs to reduce hp by 10%. White mask changed to +3 arc but reduce hp by 8%, or bleed proc by the wearer only raises crit damage by 5%, or better it has no special effect. Mushroom crown to be increase fth by 3 but reduce hp by 8% or something else or no effect. The point is the damage boosts need to be removed. Other hats that give plus 3 stat needs to have reduced 2 in another, like Renalla crown needs to be +3 INT by -2 on FTH, Okina Mask to be +3 DEX but -2 on MND where is focus nerf is reduced; mask of confidence to be +3 ARC and -1 in both STR and DEX. +2 stat hats need minus 1 in some other stat except for imp hats. Mimic mask needs to be -5% all damage. 7. Vigour needs to grant robustness while Endurance raises Immunity instead. 8. Dragon spells and dragon seal now require balance stat invest in INT, FTH, ARC and higher FTH and ARC requirements for some dragon spells. 9. Ash of war damage nerf that was applied to players now needs the 20% nerf to statuses as well as this change is also applied to bosses and non respawning enemies. 10. Bleed changed from 200+ 15% max hp to be. 80+ 5% hp + (base robustness -100) that way lower armour users don’t get so nuked. Something similar is applied to npcs. No longer breaks hyperarmour or stun. 11. Frost changed to 40 +5% hp + 0.5*(base robustness -100), and something similar applied to npcs. 12. Destined deaths needs more raw damage but lower the % values greatly so overall on players it’s the same but npcs should not be so decimated by these especially with new game and multiplayer hp boosts which get invalidated by this. Same applies for Black flame. 13. Blood Lord’s Exultation to give +5 arcane instead. Kindred Rot talisman change to tick damage of poison and scarlet deals 10% more damage. 14. Poison and scarlet rot in PvP deals 120% of what it is now and first 5 seconds of deal 240% damage of what it is now. 15. Ripple weapons and barres bouquet grease scaling is nerfed from +310% to upto +50%. Increase the base damage of these weapons. 16. Crimson bubble tear changed from 30% hp heal to 250 +15% hp. The one that boosts max hp is changed to +250 +15% hp and correctly raises up as oppose to only raising max hp. 17. Invading opens you up to be invaded even if area boss is dead however you are lower in the queue system and is only open every 6 or so completed invasions. 18. Certain graces are removed from the far pool of invasions. Add a a third function to customised invasion and co op summoning spots. 19. Greater barrier elemental buff needs to be 45% as oppose to be 60/20 for PvE/ PvP and it can no longer buffs ally players.
I think arenas with some environmental hazards would be so cool, like imagine a farum azula themed one with lightning striking down periodically in spots or random wind picking up potentially throwing players off the map, or in a volcano manor have sections where where lava will periodically pour through, or even a room that IS a big empty circle but theres an astel on the ceiling that periodically casts an undodgable but no damage room wide gravitas that pulls everyone into a small radius (okay maybe that last one sucks but I always thought the lightning flower areas would be a fun pvp spot)
If pvp gets more broken or makes more builds become viable, I'm probably going to have a lot of videos coming out for pvp. I do hope the dlc does let me do more silly things as well.
I am on NG+ and I've been helping a friend that is playing the game for the first time. The invasions we've encountered over the 30 hours or so weve been playing have done nothing but ruin the immersion of his first experience. 1. They join 2. They take a few swings to annoy him 3. They run away 4. They keep running 5. We quit and start a new session The amount of playable space should shrink around the host like a mobile arena. It doesnt have to be too small, but it's kind of ridiculous chasing someone from the southern shore of Liurnia all the way to Caria Manor. That being said, the host should also be limited to how far they can run. They way it is now, it's really not very fun.
I've never been into PvP much, but I loved getting randomly invaded, it's always been part of the experience. Bit late now though I think for them to change it 😐
@@CuriosityMisledMe hard agree. Everyone putting large and sweeping changes on their DLC wish list for PvP is pure cope. If you don't like the multiplayer in the game as-is, nothing is going change drastically in the DLC. We should just accept that FS is only interested in PvE. It would not surprise me if it's removed in the series going forward.
So, haven't experienced much on the invasions side in Elden Ring, as I've mostly been a solo player, but my biggest problem with DS3's invasions as a PvE player is they don't allow bonfires to trigger. I spent 20 minutes worried I wouldn't have a bonfire I rightfully reached because I got invaded a few seconds before I could activate it and the invader kept running to different enemy group locations because they knew they didn't have the skill to actually win. I'm good with the fight, just let me mark my progress.
Even though I agree with most of What i've seen here. One thing that invaders still dont seem to understand is that Forced PVP is not fun not interesting for many players. Elden Ring for me has a better system making it only a factor if you ask for help. Although it makes blues useless that could be reworked. Many players like me dont care about asking for help and so much less for invasion. For context I got 2 plats on Elden ring 1 on PS4 1 on PC all playing solo. I like to experience the game by myself without messages not invasion and help. And I'm pretty sure Im not the only one. Invasions on someone that ask for help or that ask for fights is Ok , for other why would you bother other people? I'm not against PVP, I like fighting in arena in DS3 and ER I like to craft some builds for that or accommodate mine. But invaders don't understand that they're the minority and most of the players don't like or don't care about that aspect and that should be respected too. and BTW Coliseum fights should have rounds like Fighting games. TL:DR: Many players don't care about invasions and want to play solo. Someone summon helps can get invaded. Someone solo not ok to get invaded, Coliseums are cool but they could be better .
Invading with: Morgott's / Radahn's Rune at RL67-105; Excellent. Godrick's Rune at RL10-36; That's a bit much. Even at other RLs, 40 free levels is insanely strong. Rykard's Rune acts like Taker's Camor (and other tools); so will proc for Invader as well. Melania's Rune; needs a rework due to how stun works; the Rally mechanic just doesn't fit at all with ER's design. Including these in MP to allow Solo invasions (or just being usable in general) would be a great idea. Would require a bit of tuning.
Excellent points. I don't like unique, gameplay-modifying loot gated behind multiplayer like it use to be, but I do like the idea of rarer consumable items and novelty items being purchasable in a pvp shop or as covenant rewards. New phantom colours for different covenants and covenant/pvp ranks would be great too.
After playing through the entire Dark Souls trilogy after Elden Ring, I realized what a huge miss not having covenants in the game was. Basically every faction or magic type has mini-or-big dungeon, making it a perfect way to have covenants. Imagine going through Stormveil Castle, Ranni's manor, or even the Lake of Rot and having random people brawl against eachother while you're just trying to get to the grace. It would have been an amazing experience. Edit: just watched the video, what she said 👍
The reason I never invade is because they of two factors. You can be sent to areas you haven’t visited yet so if you die you lose your runes there and cant get them back. Your gonna get 3v1 ganked. 4v1 when a hunter shows up. I also think the golden finger should have a feature where you can place multiple sings that won’t vanish so you can help players in areas that have no summoning pool. Right now their is no point putting down a sign if it just vanishes the moment you leave or fight a boss.
The single host invasions idea has been thrown around for ages. Isn't the reason they decided on co op invasions was not to deter new players by experienced players coming in and wrecking them constantly? Elden ring is far more popular than any other game and I can't help but agree with them. I hate the idea of my rune arc being attached to invasions. I like to use the runes as leverage in the over world but if they were tied to invasions it would be just more dead weight in the Inventory. The sad truth is invaders have far more experience in the game (not all) and some are prone to using game breaking glitches for the win like the FiresDSin death glitch was rife before the patch. It's a careful balance but I feel it is completely fair putting experienced players on the back foot, sure the taunters T abuse needs to be fixed but I also don't think it's fair subjecting new players to constant single battles against people with similar skill levels to like Jeenine or Chasethebro because that would just be frustrating. there's lots of players out there who can easily take out teams of 3 so subjecting single players to a barrage of highly skilled players on their own would slowly kill it off anyway.
one of the reasons i love these games is that combat "feels" right. the weight, speed, damage, spacing, etc of different weapons and spells effect the player and the enemy in logically consistent ways. if i hit a small enemy with a dagger, it will flinch, and if i hit it with a two-handed great hammer, it's either smashed into oblivion, or knocked on its ass and then smashed into oblivion. conversely, if i screw up rolling or jumping an enemy attack, i too suffer the same effects. in pvp, a lot of the dopamine rush is lost (for me, anyway) when i score a hit because of latency. i second guess myself: did i really hit them through skill, or is it because they couldn't see the hit coming in time to respond? and the reverse is true, too. the animation is miles away from me, and yet, i'm on my ass, mashing the roll button, wondering why i bothered loading into the coliseum in the first place. i enjoy the goofier aspects of pvp. i like cosplaying and seeing other people cosplay, too. i like invading, seeing a gank squad, and luring them into making stupid mistakes, if i can. i also like when they want to partake in honorable combat, and we rp with emotes, and one of them takes a seat in the grass to watch the fight unfold. i also think pvp helps the longevity and replayability of a game. making new characters to keep within the meta lvl range and building them with specific tactics in mind is fun. now, i don't know crap about net code or if there's even a way to overcome these technological limitations, but if there is, please, fromsoft, get it together.
Invaders are bad people, so balancing the game to punish them is good. Co-op players shouldn't have to deal with some 4000 hour PvP god coming in to wipe them out when they just want to explore the Lands Between together. It was a problem in Bloodborne, so I'm glad the developers are working against it for Elden Ring.
It’s wild to see how much you’ve grown. I still remember the old DS2 videos and watching you try out livestreaming. The production quality has skyrocketed.
The Moment the dlc comes out with a patch that fixes the chainsaw glitch, the population of invaders (atleast the more sweaty ones) will drop by a large amount.
I never really liked pvp, especially in elden ring. It just felt like pointless griefng, you get nothing worth it. No cool swords, armor, spell nothing. Only real thing I can think of is chicken farm. It's my biggest gripe in this.
You just described souls pvp, specifically invasions. The fun is in seeing how others play and making your own build to share with others, while also displaying your skills/knowledge. Its a lot of fun back in the pontiff days, but in ER due to the many reasons the video showed here, this isnt as true anymore.
Another thing that would help with multiplayer is to increase the amount of Summoning Pools, add them near most graces. They should be activated automatically when near (or when touching grace next to it) and you can approach them to deactivate them. And yes signs should be visible without furl calling finger.
I hated PvP invasions on my first playthrough, nothing felt worse than struggle through some part of the game only to finally beat that part and get invaded. In my opinion, or being on your 20th try and get invaded. Invasions in my opinion should be optional, or opt in on 1st playthrough. optional
@@stevefoxrox I did that, but I think that you should be able to invite a friend to play without invasions. I for example tried to play with one of my nephews, but this made it not a very fun experience.
That knocking at around 5:15 nearly killed me, I’m chilling siping my Baja and the door is to my right and I thought someone was banging on my door at 3:00 am.😮💨
I was thrilled with my pvp experiences in 1.10! But my mistake in my last invasion was to power-stance the Sacred Relic Sword instead of using my Raptor Talons, and it turned out to be a 3v1 on top of it. Obviously I eventually lost, which is normal, but it wasn't losing that surprised me. After getting a Gank-deluxe on a silver platter they all proceeded to tea bag. It was at this moment I knew, they came from Fortnite. I laughed my head off.😂 Thanks for all your videos!
For Uses of PVE for madness and deathblight: Madness: a less powerful madness effect. Deathblight: the user takes dmg and all resistances are reduces by 50
New player here, just got the game with the recent first-seen discount... A friend of mine created a new character to play with me from zero, and guess what?... invasion spam in less than a minute out from "First step" site of grace; and would be acceptable if the invaders wasnt spaming late-game spells, weapons, etc.... WTH?... you are telling here there is no PvP incentive, so the invaders playerbase are a "gravel-mass" of bullies. PvP should be an Opt-in setting for those who want it, including that experience of "Suddenly invaded" (isn´t suddenly because is guaranteed if you try to coop) So, we went to seamless coop mod to chill-play...
It’s really bad at low levels, these are your trash players who can’t hack it at the meta level so they just load up a fresh char with cheat engine and spam invasions in Limgrave. Once you get past Stormveil it gets better (RL 30-40), most people get around this by making a password game and inviting a 3rd who is RL 652 to hang out while you play and just insta-nuke the invaders hanging around at the kiddie pool.
It's so weird that Fromsoft didn't really borrow the multiplayer ideas from the older games. It's like they hated invasions or never really understood what made it cool. Perhaps they just made Elden Ring's PvP the way it is now for the sake of casuals?
My biggest issue is that i don't want to start a new character especially when searching for a match would take a long time for me So allowing me to delevel would be amazing
You should try to apply to be a moderator at From Software. Maybe then there would actually be a chance that these great features mentioned in this vid would actually be implemented into the game. From Software was probably in a rush to get Elden Ring into the market that they decided to focus on the single player experience first to make the game playable with the intention to patch up the pvp experience down the road. This video needs to be sent to From Software so that there'd be a high chance of at least some of these ideas getting implemented in the upcoming DLC patch. I also hope they change the rewards for winning invasions to something useful like starlight shards or like you mentioned to change rune arcs into a higher form of currency to be able to purchase more valuable items like starlight shards, weapon buffs, ancient dragon smithing stone etc..
i play solo and i use tongue while running around in open world so i can have some pvp while doing something other than waiting for colosseum matchmaking because colosseum is BORING, so imo no solo host invasions are dumb, im okay with being invaded by even 2 players as long as i am being involved in some unexpected pvp encounters, imo people should have option to turn on tongue forever but i also want to have my spirit on bossess. and all this open world stuff is dumb because what is the reason to call game open world when you cannot play openworld with your friend like in seamless coop, this game is openworld just like ds3 was. also too late but fast travel makes game feel empty, even tho this game is empty, also this openworld map is really small for fast travels
also developers should either remove ng+ or do something about it, because there is absolutely no reason to start new game + in an empty game that cannot offer proper amount of content even in base game, even ds3 had something for new game +
Just open the damn pvp for all level and builds. Imagine a level 1 meeting up with a level 200 just for two blues to come in and help the level one out in an epic heroic act. Simply buff the HP of the under level 150s to match the invader's. Boom. Scary encounters and epic battles to defend/kill the VIP.
I really like the idea of restricting the invasions to dungeons and non open world areas. It sounds like a good way to make invasions fun and interesting.
Some good suggestions, but I'm not sure about the premise that the lower proportion of players being into PVP is anything other than Elden Ring tapping into a player base that simply want to play the game uninterrupted. I enjoy a good bit of PVP, but most of my friends hate that every time we coop we are going to have to spend five minutes out of every ten playing tag with a runaway red or re summoning every ten minutes when they are coming to against a long stream of players who simply play the game more often. I think some balance changes need to give space for those players - one option is to force reds to sometimes appear as blues, so that hosts that just want to chill with their friends have a skilled ally. Nothing is going to force that red in blue clothing to participate in a ganking sesh, which goes some way to solving another issue.
I play co-op specifically for the invasions, a lot of reds are legit and very skilled players, but a decent chunk are low-skilled, bad mannered, just wanna waste your time with chip range damage or dual nagi poke and then play hide and go seek. It’s particularly bad at lower levels, some hosty who’s trying to play legit and he gets smacked in the face with a rot pot after he just stepped foot in Stormveil Castle and I’m trying to drop him some boluses while dodging Golem’s Great Arrows at level 18.

That whole snippet spoke to my soul.
Will share it, bro. This would be quite interesting. =]
I would share this video If I have some one who play this game too🥺 I never even spoke with someone who play this game in real life.🙁 Only people who I can speak about this game are here on UA-cam 🫢
Most of those points are very agreeable. For me personally, the missing player solo-invasions is not one of those points. 🥱
By ensuring that there is a way to play Eldenring in complete PvE fashion you have a much more relaxed playthrough for people who care about such things.
You must not feel obligated to entertain someone with a meta-build and no style, utter repetitiveness and the newest exploits to kill you while you just want to live in the moment, without having to watch the newest guides every patch or so. 😏
I pulled the plug a few times in "Lords of the Fallen" too just recently and I felt... nothing. Only annoyance that I had to do it.
Cause I liked the idea of "avenging" my fellow Lampbearers but not to play host for unwanted annoyances. 😑
And the PvP in the newest Lords SUXX.
Not like there is a stressless time in Lords anyway. Damn did I feel on the clock in Lords. Eldenring truly is the King of the souls-likes for now. Unsurprisingly.
And I really give a damn if "surprise PvP" are called Invasions or something else.
*_" I do not consent to random 'Invasions' unto my immersion. "_* 😎
Consent yes.
Also I won about 80% of my PvP battles or so.
So no I'm not someone afraid of the _'evil red boogyman'._ 😁
I honestly think rune arcs should not be rare and you need to co-op or invade to acquire them at all they should be more available like embers and humanity etc
Rats drop Rune arcs like they dropped Humanity in Dark Souls.
@@TheDoomsdayzonerWay too rare, very low drop rate.

WTF
Me too!!!! Damn near had a heart attack
As a casual coop helper, I can assure you that the host's buddies are often less skilled than the invaders, as the latter is actively looking for pvp battles and the former just wants to help.
As a fellow co-op healer, I agree.
Ah yes, so that's why when you invade you always face the same Rivers of Blood, Mohg Spear and Blasphemous Blade trio waiting just to bully the invader... Right.
Invaders also lack skill when they begin so...
you're still going to outnumber an invader right now, and pressing L2 at the right time can and will put just about any invader at serious risk.
Not to mention the helpers being over leveled compared to the host and invader
Maybe make sth like the Gravelord Covenant from DS1 where you cant summon phantoms but can use Spirit Ashes
the summons were so weak, and were basically just an annoyance. it was fun for 5 mins until the novelty wore off, and it shows, as it was the first mode to lose activity

@@Warcrafter4 Yes. Except Gravelords would also cause souped up black phantom variants of regular mobs to spawn in the worlds of other players until they get killed.
Ps. There's also 3 types of poison(Type 2: inflicted by the fetid pots, venomous fangs, and serpent bone blade. Type 3: being Poison Mist Spray) that aren't named differently either.
- One invader for each coop player (+1 with taunter)
- Fix host's fog walling shenanigans
- Seamless coop.. no more dumb zone barriers or having to rejoin

I really miss my covenants from DS2
Damn good video. Couldn't have said it better myself. PVP still needs a lot of work.
I really appreciate what you've done here. It seems like you've bridged the gap between the PVP and the PVE community a bit.

Sound fine to me I prefer rune levels between 150-200 anyway
Yes beating the game once should allow access to the rune shop because there are people whole like me search every nook and cranny defeated every boss did every dungeon put in 100+ hours and I had almost throw away runes to stay around meta levels, seeing as there hardly anything worth buying with runes.
Good netcode and good matchmaking is what it needs, sadly it will most likely never have those
Not enough competition for FromSoft to care. They rake in enough money with the formula they currently have - no reason to step outside of their comfort zone.
I don't do PvP , but I've seen everything since day 1 so let's get the obvious ones out of the way
1 : Status effects : imma be real here, I dunno WHAT can be changed about them but bleed builds have been bonkers since the beginning
2 : Possible weapon category changes? : Great spears carry while maces and axes suck, katanas are op while flails don't have anything going for them, perhaps add one or two unique features to the while weapon class to make it more useful
That's about what I can think off, I'll let the more experience Pvper's leave the good comments
Can't wait till we can all test those changes together! Remeber guys to stay tuned for part 2 and the mod release!
What also could be cool are pvp hotspots tied to specific covenants like the crucifixtion wood in ds 3
Caelid would be the perfect PVP area, even the sky is red there :P
In my experiences when I join a world as a blue summon 9 times out of 10 when I am summoned the red invader is already dead or I get summoned half way across the map having to sprit my ass there as fast as i can only to see the battel is over making me wonder why i even have it on in the first place.
same as invasions in some places, you spawn only for 0.1532 seconds later the host entering the boss room and you go back to waiting only for it to happen again 5 times in a row
I decided to play again today on PC and this was my exact experience: invade within 10 seconds of the host fog walling or a starting area fight club. It's just not interesting especially considering how powerful AoW combos are and how latency makes a lot of roll catches not work
@@axis8396I’d try invading at lvl 70-90 +17 +7 for the higher end
I'd argue that invasions as it is now encourage cheering or using annoying Metta strats which also waters down the experience. Less diversity.
This video is full of brilliant ideas! I really hope it gets seen by a majority of the pvp community and developers. Very well done, I loved it!
As the first to comment, I bless thy life with runes for eternity
Honestly furcalling finger remedy giving some sort of pve bonus would be such a good change. Maybe like 10-15% HP maybe as a slight HoT like 10 seconds to a limit of 3 per effigy area or something like that. (Idk what exact numbers to make it balanced I'm just some dude but I fucking love the concept)
It would be nice as like top off heal which is exactly what you need a lot of the time when your just kinda exploring which is prime time to find summon signs.
That would a be tiny, easy to make change, that would have massive benefits to both PvE and PvP.
I really hope something like that gets implemented
FINALLY a good lengthed video 🥰
DS2 was the best Souls pvp wise because some of it's more BS mechanics, like slow estus and punishable fog walls were designed around pvp in mind to make it a more balanced experience and that, alongsides it's unique concepts and ideas, makes it VERY good and replayable
Side note. Is that the soundtrack for FFX I hear in the background. I approve.
Fromsoft needs to see this
"End of Small Sanctuary" in the background. Your taste in music is spot-on eevry time, I swear.
Im surprised nobody else has found out you can just kill the big ball near the mimic tear chest under the bridge for a decent chance for an extra larval tear Ive gotten atleast 4 from it
I killed it maybe 6 times and got a total of 4 larval tears counting the first guaranteed one
uh, didn't know that. interesting.
It doesn’t respawn though, right? Meaning you have to be lucky enough to find someone in co-op who hasn’t killed theirs, and join up with them to kill it with them?
Or did something change?
I am pretty sure this is one of the first things they patched out.

Multiplayer is probably screwed. The balance will be rebroken when the dlc comes out. Only so many people play coop so the invasion pool will be low. Low supply/high demand. The pve side will probably be very fun though.
Here are some ideas for covenant rank rewards since I don't think any items should be gated behind covenants like in the past (because people should join a covenant for the roleplay, not grinding items):
- Joining covenant would turn your phantom into a unique looking phantom for that covenant (similar to how joining Sun Bros your Co-Op phantom would be changed from white to gold).
19:55 I often forget the narrator is supposed to be Ranni speaking so whenever I get to a part like this I'm blown a bit back in amusement
I never even imagined someone mistaking an AI invader for an actual player and getting mad at it, that's hilarious lmfao.
Great job on this vid!
@@GroundbreakGames thanks :)
dude there are so many good points made here it's actually ridiculous.
Just like how In dark souls 1 if you used the item to summon multiple different characters then you will finally be able to see online players (which are actually very rare now for some reason🤷🏻♂️
Edit: I apologize to anyone reading this I am very intoxicated so it is a little hard to write properly lol
if it comes out early next year i would be so happy. if not.. well the wait continues 💀
Man 6 player limit would be so much better
1. They join
2. They take a few swings to annoy him
3. They run away
4. They keep running
5. We quit and start a new session
The amount of playable space should shrink around the host like a mobile arena.
Bit late now though I think for them to change it 😐
Perfect time to change it with the DLC. They should always be up for making the game better. None of this sounds like a lot of work to implement.
@@392Hemi-x3No matter how good the DLC is, we aren’t getting that launch player count back to experience how invasions should be.
Someone solo not ok to get invaded,
Coliseums are cool but they could be better .
Invading with:
Morgott's / Radahn's Rune at RL67-105; Excellent.
An actual boss health bar on players that ended elden ring
Excellent points. I don't like unique, gameplay-modifying loot gated behind multiplayer like it use to be,
but I do like the idea of rarer consumable items and novelty items being purchasable in a pvp shop or as covenant rewards.
Good bait
5:14 JESUS THAT KNOCKING NOISE NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK
This video is exactly what I was expecting Elden Ring PvP to be when I first bought it😢 I really hope we get some of this features.
I haven’t really seen this much lately, I report every player who uses it and I’m pretty sure a bunch of them got banned
I really hope that the DLC adds more great runes, balances them around, and makes them usable for everyone. That would change so much.
Awesome, hopefully we can improve the PVP engagement
Love all the final fantasy background music you use 😅 good choices
amazing vid tbh. Perfect good job! good job :=
I hated PvP invasions on my first playthrough, nothing felt worse than struggle through some part of the game only to finally beat that part and get invaded. In my opinion, or being on your 20th try and get invaded. Invasions in my opinion should be optional, or opt in on 1st playthrough. optional
Just play offline
For Uses of PVE for madness and deathblight:
Madness: a less powerful madness effect.
PvP should be an Opt-in setting for those who want it, including that experience of "Suddenly invaded" (isn´t suddenly because is guaranteed if you try to coop)
So, we went to seamless coop mod to chill-play...
It’s really bad at low levels, these are your trash players who can’t hack it at the meta level so they just load up a fresh char with cheat engine and spam invasions in Limgrave. Once you get past Stormveil it gets better (RL 30-40), most people get around this by making a password game and inviting a 3rd who is RL 652 to hang out while you play and just insta-nuke the invaders hanging around at the kiddie pool.
those are called twinks, just bad players trying to beat up newbies to make themselves feel better.
@@iRunKids still a better reason to make Invansions-pvp an opt-in setting
Please we deserve at least 50% of that this video propose
It's so weird that Fromsoft didn't really borrow the multiplayer ideas from the older games. It's like they hated invasions or never really understood what made it cool. Perhaps they just made Elden Ring's PvP the way it is now for the sake of casuals?
My biggest issue is that i don't want to start a new character especially when searching for a match would take a long time for me
So allowing me to delevel would be amazing
Just wanna say thank you to all, who still working on trying to create a game, what we all will be able to enjoy
As a mostly pve player, but great pvp youtube content enjoyer, thank you for the hard work.
Looking forward to Souls invasions truly being opt-in. I'm sure we'll get there eventually.
I also hope they change the rewards for winning invasions to something useful like starlight shards or like you mentioned to change rune arcs into a higher form of currency to be able to purchase more valuable items like starlight shards, weapon buffs, ancient dragon smithing stone etc..
i play solo and i use tongue while running around in open world so i can have some pvp while doing something other than waiting for colosseum matchmaking because colosseum is BORING, so imo no solo host invasions are dumb, im okay with being invaded by even 2 players as long as i am being involved in some unexpected pvp encounters, imo people should have option to turn on tongue forever but i also want to have my spirit on bossess. and all this open world stuff is dumb because what is the reason to call game open world when you cannot play openworld with your friend like in seamless coop, this game is openworld just like ds3 was. also too late but fast travel makes game feel empty, even tho this game is empty, also this openworld map is really small for fast travels
also developers should either remove ng+ or do something about it, because there is absolutely no reason to start new game + in an empty game that cannot offer proper amount of content even in base game, even ds3 had something for new game +
nah it was a good change
Just open the damn pvp for all level and builds. Imagine a level 1 meeting up with a level 200 just for two blues to come in and help the level one out in an epic heroic act.
Simply buff the HP of the under level 150s to match the invader's. Boom. Scary encounters and epic battles to defend/kill the VIP.
Very cool video, can’t wait to see the exploits you’re going to make!
Just found your channel, I really like the avatar and the voice. It’s just charming and cute!
welp... i love to play eldenring.... but offline. There are already enough enemy that want to fuck me over...
If all these changes were implemented, the game would stay alive for years to come.
Did Gabri get his Japanese translators?
We'll be working on the japanese subtitles to add them as youtube captions
@@OnlyWaifuYT i see, cant wait for the video. I've never seen a community so passionate
It’s particularly bad at lower levels, some hosty who’s trying to play legit and he gets smacked in the face with a rot pot after he just stepped foot in Stormveil Castle and I’m trying to drop him some boluses while dodging Golem’s Great Arrows at level 18.
bro, how is your ai voice over so good, the future is looking awesome yet crazy
