I love the neomorph, but what I find doesn't make sense is that even though the neomorph was designed to be less sophisticated than the protomorph (or xenomorph)it seems that the motes are a superior way of reproduction. Think about it. A host can be infected without ever realizing it until they're dying, whereas the eggs and facehuggers seem more avoidable and obvious. What do you think?
The Neomorph birth scene was probably the most tense that I have felt watching a movie in a very long time. The way the tension builds up, the grotesqueness of each birth, it was amazing. Extremely well directed. It would be awesome to see more of the Neomorphs in future films. Perhaps the engineers come back to the planet to find everyone dead and one of them gets infected with a Neomorph. That would be sick to see what kind of Neomorph that would be. I personally am optimistic about the sequel to Covenant, unlike a lot of other people. Covenant wasn't perfect by any means, but I thought it was good. It could have been way better, it could have explained things further. Lets just hope that Fox will actually not interfere with his film, Scott can find a good script, and that he actually addresses peoples' concerns about the overall story arch that he has created.
ipwn3du I also love this movie but I also like the others. some of them get to much hate but they are enjoyable and I really like the whole franchise. I think they should be happy to get some sequels and prequels. Even if they think that they arent so good.
i was under the impression that the planet david attacked with the "black goo" was not the engineer home world but another humanoid species. They look completely different than the engineers.
They aren’t engineers, they are a race probably created by the engineers like we were. Or they are a sub race of the engineers. That’s why they were waving to the ship when it returned. Because they thought it was their “god” coming back to them
it was a religious group of the engineers that lived on their own away from the technologically advanced home world. missionaries or armish or whatever the fuck. they look different cos of the modifications the other engineers did to their bodies to adapt them to hyper sleep and space travel. but who knows at this point. . we just making excuses for this dumb movie.
I think they’re horrific and somehow more plausible than the xenomorph. They really seem like they’re driven by that need to kill all non botanical life. The Xenomorph was more sinister with its strangely sexual, methodical behaviour. The neomorph is just brutal and terrifying.
Alien: Covenant had some serious holes and problems BUT at least it introduced a very unique creature named Neomorph. This alone deserves a big respect
Excellent video! you mentioned a lot of fascinating things about my fave new alien! I think the Neomorphs are fabulous, I 'd love to see more of them in film and a Neomorpg queen would be terrific.
I've noticed that too and i like how the older ideas come back. Almost like they've had time to gestate before bursting forthe. I'm hoping, since it looks like they'll never resolve it on screen, that they'll go into what alien awakening would have been in the books. In alien colony war they're already having reported incidents of the black goo being dumped onto colony worlds and i'm hoping when it gets to that story that it'll lead back to david and the engineers.
These things were total bullshit. especially the second one that came out of that dudes mouth in the field. The colonists easily put 20-30 rounds, if not more, into the damn thing. Even if the bullets aren't penetrating its skin - which again, bullshit - their still doing massive traumatic damage to its body, especially with how small its body was at the time. The fact that this stupid thing managed to survive long enough to make not one, but two attack runs on the group and still escaped afterwards without bleeding to death was mind numbingly infuriating and forced me to assume that they were just made out of magical fairy dust for the rest of the movie. They were basically the Mary Sue of xenomorphs at that point. Needless to say, I was quite angry, lol.
QuantumAscension1 wow you’re so passionate Lmfaooo I’m not making fun I just know that you are a true fan! Lol that Mary Sue line just cracked me up! 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think the things that the Neomorphs start life as are meant to be eggs. They are clearly based on fungi. Specifically puffballs. When puffballs are impacted or disturbed they emit clouds of dust-like spores. That's just what the Neomorph motes resemble - a cloud of fungal spores. Great video!
There was no explanation of where the facehugger eggs came from. This made think of the deleted scene from the original Alien, when Ripley discovers Brett and Dallas being transformed into eggs. I wonder if Neomorphs where subjected to a similar process to create the Protomorph eggs / face-huggers. But I doubt will ever find out how they came to be.
They were from the black goo being dropped on the planet. Some say the pods they come from are insect eggs that have changed from the goo. This puts the black goo from the spores, to the host, which then grows a Neomorph.
I guess what I was wondering was, given the (White) Neomorphs where a result of the original attack or something that escaped the crashed / abandoned ship, could the (Black) Protomorphs be the result of further experimentation rather than a natural evolution? After all the Protomorphs "uses" of eggs bridges the life cycles of the Neomorphs and Xenomorphs.
The deacon is pretty much a one off anomally I'd say. The way it was made was so odd, but I wouldn't rule out other xeno type aliens that look similar to the deacon. A xenomorph is almost like an advanced weaponized neomorph. Thats just my thoughts, there a many ways to go with the prequel stuff.
Hard to tell. Its not really stated how "armored" the chest variety is. The blood version is fleshy, but still resists small arms fire, and they are much more aggressive. Chestbursters have killed, but in defense, whereas the blood bursters came out hunting and killing. I'd probally lean to the blood burster, but all the later stages would lose out easily to the xeno.
Yeah, I think they need to address all the hierarchy fundamentals between the neomorph, xenomorph and other alien co-species and subspecies in the Alien universe in future adaptations...
I believe that the pods that release the spores are the long decayed remains of a dead neomorph. I believe it would explain why these plant like pods formed when the black goo only affected no botanical life forms.
What I don't get still is if the blood buster would not of killed the host when it comes out it would make sense of it later kills him from being infected
I'm not sure about the hosts in the movie universe, but I remember an aliens comic saying that xenos could use other xenos for hosts if none were available.
In all the videos (from everyone) talking about the neomorph, why is it never discussed that it had a much more human look & quality to it? To me, that's what jumped out about it.
People have always asked how many Xenomorph like aliens are there and I answer them with back in the day I remember when people just called them aliens because infact back then they where known as alien XX121, it was later called a Xenomorph because that's what Ripley called them , well I hope this info helps have a nice day.
IMO one can make an argument not even the producers have the answers to questions left to chances in the films. Every time I watch a Predator film in their trophy room they showcase the success hunts of Xenomorphs Queens down to Neomorphs etc. Which tells me they been hunting these species for decades.
The neomorph looked like it got an alien cancer deasease, like it's pale, doesn't have a hard shell, and plus, it COULD be a new queen concept for the neomorph cycle
anyone who has played resident evil 4 knows whats its like to run down a corridoor shitting their pants for that one last kill shot for a neomorph (regenerator).
Love alian.. just hope riddley hasn't screwed it's future up.. I did like covenant tho..even with it's fault s... Soo many of the old fans don't tho..guess we can c why? Wu du guy's reckon?? love and peece ✌️
One thing I didn’t notice, or missed... do the Neomorphs have acid for blood? I know Walter lost his arm in the fight with the creature, and it was smoking after he backed away, but if it bit the hand off there would be no beasty blood, and maybe the smoking effect was just Walter’s circuits frying. It was never made clear, not to me anyway. Or did Walter damage the Neomorph somehow and then it did spew acid? Oooooh it just occurred to me, the Worm parasites had acid for blood in Prometheus, so it’s only natural to assume this is the same for the Neomorph. I would absolutely love to see more of the Neomorph. The scene between David and the creature, after it tore a head off, evoked so much emotion in me. Not the act. It was the depth of curiosity, and maybe awe on David’s part that occurred between the two of them. I loved how David sort of imprinted on it, by breathing softly on his bloodied mouth, like a horse whisperer - though I don’t think it had nostrils. I loved how his chest and the sound of his deep, chilling, clicking breaths slowed right down. That, was a beautiful moment. Is that terrible of me to think that? Unlike the Xenomorph, the Neomorph, is so much more beast than the former biomechanical killing machine. Entranced by that chest falling and rising, had me fixated on that moment so deeply that when Oram turned up, I felt as angry as David. As if he had intruded on a very intimate moment between two people. The interesting thing is that David is not human, therefore the creature does not see him as food or a kill. There was so much suffering in David’s voice when Oram killed the beast. It actually made my heart flutter. What does that say about me!? I would absolutely love it if they recreated a similar moment taking it further, to see if the two could form a real connection. It is such a beautiful, terrifying beast, but in that scene, from my perspective, I saw a living, breathing creature that was capable of curiosity, connection and the ability to calm itself, maybe realising there was no threat or malice coming from David, now that tells me it isn’t just a killing machine and is in fact, highly intelligent. I hope they bring the neomorphs into a future franchise of the film, though I doubt very much that there will be time to achieve this in the Covenant sequel. But please, somebody do this. It would be completely original, but it would still maintain that syfy horror. I don’t care about the back end of the original Alien. I want the entire next film to be just about David and his experiments on the Covenant. There is something so sexy about David’s character. I’ve never seen it in any other Michael Fassbender films, including Walter. I don’t know what it is about David, but I could just watch him talk and move with such fluidity and grace, whilst also being so dangerous. Maybe he Is the the new Dracula of the 21st Century?
I really want to see a different take on the origins of the xenomorph. Prometheus and Covenent are just poor movies overall with a convoluted origin for the aliens. Its I just see alot of people using the AVP2004 design in place of the original 1979 design and its kind of like using Zilla to represent the original 1954 Godzilla. Awesome channel and great video by the way.
Jeremy Woodard they have eye sockets under their head if u look closely. Its like a human skull. They also have extremely good senses and can sense danger, prey or a threat with smell, hearing and touch
I really wanna know what David does, whether it be sending more people out to *oregei** or generally watching what a psychopathic synth terraform a well domesticated planet with his genetic engineering building an army to send to earth!
true true but in any civilisation or pack of animals there is a leader and they do work together as shown in the movie as they attack the same group at the same time

These "origin" movies seem pretty overhyped and lame. They're working too hard. The story of them being the result of some engineered biological weapon is just plain ridiculous.
Neomorph vs Xenomorph happened in the novelization. The Xenomorth ended up disembowling the Neomorph, killing it out right.
I love the neomorph, but what I find doesn't make sense is that even though the neomorph was designed to be less sophisticated than the protomorph (or xenomorph)it seems that the motes are a superior way of reproduction. I agree with you dear. I love neomorphs
ipwn3du I completely AGREE WITH you with everything: the introductions of the Neomorphs with that pounding music: CHILLING!!!!!!
ipwn3
How true that is!!!! Leave Scott alone and let him work, for the franchises sake!!
i was under the impression that the planet david attacked with the "black goo" was not the engineer home world but another humanoid species. They look completely different than the engineers.

They really should consult you before they make another Alien movie man. Not only do you know your stuff, but you really hit on what fans want to see.
I would love to see this white alien again! Please Ridley! Make Awakening!!!
Just found this Channel, and Hell I love it already!
Welcome, and thanks for watching!
fans put more thought and backstory than the actual writers.
These things were total bullshit. especially the second one that came out of that dudes mouth in the field. The colonists easily put 20-30 rounds, if not more, into the damn thing. I was just happy when it got the shit shot out of it later in the movie. I guess it loses its bulletproof magic spell once it becomes an adult, lol
Love your channel and all of your alien content
thanks!
No problem! I feel like all of your videos are extremely insightful!
I think the neomorph would win because of how quick and agile it is. And it swung it’s tail and broke that guys jaw with ease
No way ...
Neomorph vs Xenomorph... I wanna see it in future movies
i remember watching covenant at 5he cinema, damn that back bursting scene made me feel weird

Neomorphs are amazing 😀
Neomorph queen versus a xenomorph Queen
The virus idea was picked up in Xfiles
Great vid!
Still wondering why they call this precursor race Neomorph. Are the Deacons supposed to be the race which preceded the Neomorphs?
The deacon is pretty much a one off anomally I'd say. The way it was made was so odd, but I wouldn't rule out other xeno type aliens that look similar to the deacon. A xenomorph is almost like an advanced weaponized neomorph. Thats just my thoughts, there a many ways to go with the prequel stuff.
It's a awesome creature! No queen for me. Xeno vs Neo awesome!
So who would win in a fight? The Chestburster or the Bloodburster?
Hard to tell. Its not really stated how "armored" the chest variety is. The blood version is fleshy, but still resists small arms fire, and they are much more aggressive. Chestbursters have killed, but in defense, whereas the blood bursters came out hunting and killing. I'd probally lean to the blood burster, but all the later stages would lose out easily to the xeno.
Intersteller video enjoyed 👍👍💯
Yeah, I think they need to address all the hierarchy fundamentals between the neomorph, xenomorph and other alien co-species and subspecies in the Alien universe in future adaptations...
Both are vicious buetiful creatures. But the xenomorph will be David's demise.
I believe that the pods that release the spores are the long decayed remains of a dead neomorph. I believe it would explain why these plant like pods formed when the black goo only affected no botanical life forms.
I love it!
What I don't get still is if the blood buster would not of killed the host when it comes out it would make sense of it later kills him from being infected
Neo-morph= primordial Xenomorph.
i want a stand alone movie with just neomorphs so we can learn more about them, also could a xeno use a neo as a host
I'm not sure about the hosts in the movie universe, but I remember an aliens comic saying that xenos could use other xenos for hosts if none were available.
"Almost evil" .... I crown thee king of the understatements!
Those are not engineers that David's destroys. Those are another seed race
I think that as well, but Ridley Scott said otherwise in an interview. Not that Ridley hasn't changed his mind before though, so here's hoping!
They are the same SPECIES but they are just civilians, I don't understand why people find it so hard to understand.
J Hearld how do you know
In all the videos (from everyone) talking about the neomorph, why is it never discussed that it had a much more human look & quality to it? To me, that's what jumped out about it.

I feel like the Deacon is maybe the 2nd generation then Xenomorphs are ghe 3rd generation.
Were the Deacon fitts in? Easy it's a Engeneer spawned Neomorph.
fullmetalarmour r Ehmmmmm, it grows into a fucking mountain, no offence but these pups look like inbred Xenos not mountains
apparently deacon is supposed to ressemble the lord of the engineers, which i guess kinda explains why it turns into a mountain later
Neos have no chance against the much stronger and bigger Xenos.

Neomorph is scary 🙀
@SciFi Explained - Whats the deal using a AVP 2004 style Xenomorph?! Whats wrong with the original Xenomorph from Alien 1979? I don't get why everyone uses the 2004 Xenomorph design over the original 1979 design. hewck Covenant's Protomorph resembles more of the 1979 design then the 2004 design.
Did I show a pic of a newer xeno or something? My favorite is Big Chap, so I love the original style best myself.
Me too, thats what i also liked about Alien Covenant. Do a neomorph queen video like explain what it could look like
I doubt they have a queen
Has it ever been understood how the Xenomorph see`s? I've always wondered how they did that with no visible eyes...anyone?
Jeremy Woodard they have eye sockets under their head if u look closely. Its like a human skull. They also have extremely good senses and can sense danger, prey or a threat with smell, hearing and touch
Jeremy Woodard Bats dont have eyes yey they can still "see" with echolocation
I always thought they can detect blood like a shark
@Jeremy Woodard: Bats do have eyes, but, their vision is very poor which is why they use echolocation...
they do fight in the alien covenant book the xenomorph came out on top
yeah, its a shame that didn't happen in the movie!
I wonder why the Neo Morph didn’t have acidic blood??? At least it didn’t seem like it.
I really wanna know what David does, whether it be sending more people out to *oregei** or generally watching what a psychopathic synth terraform a well domesticated planet with his genetic engineering building an army to send to earth!
SciFi Explained: I don't like the neos. I like the xenos. I also like the queens from Alien 2, Alien resurrection, and AVP.
Make sure to lick the video and subway the videor I need to stop these dumb comments 😐
Christian Serrano nah don't
0:28 not engineers
I didn't want them to be, but unfortunately, there is a ton of evidence that says they are.
I would like more Neomorphs & a Neomorph queen but if they did a queen it would need to be gigantic & horrific
I don't think they aren't advanced enough to have a queen, its highly more likely that the queen was only part of the xenomorph's evolution.
true true but in any civilisation or pack of animals there is a leader and they do work together as shown in the movie as they attack the same group at the same time
true
So they're not xenonorphs, interesting.
I'd just would like to wipe the planet from these Alien prequels.
Everyone is wanting to see the deacon, neomorphs, and protomorphs to fight the xenomorphs and each other
I personally want them to collaborate they are the same genetic material the same build up, the same stuff just organized differently
I think our classic xenomorphs should be a puzzle and the deacon, the neomorph, and the protomorph are the pieces that come together to form it
History lesson!
Millenia ago there were many different specimens of creature they all looked similar but the genetics, the form, and everything else was completely different there were many species that made up humanity but all of these species eventually were shit out of luck for one reason or another and started interbreeding and a few Millenia passed by and we are now just one species humanity, homosapians
Maybe the same shit could happen to these guys and they have to turn to each other
No wait I doubt that modern day Hollywood would allow anything that fucking creative
No I don't.
While Covenant was better than the shit that was Prometheus,
It was still shit underneath.
I do not consider the two canon with each other.
The neomorph is probably the only good thing from the movie.
Neoqueen
Maybe I'm alone in this belief, but I preferred before Prometheus, when The Xenomorph Alien origins were unknown and believed to be the process of evolution on an unknown planet. These "origin" movies seem pretty overhyped and lame. They're working too hard. The story of them being the result of some engineered biological weapon is just plain ridiculous.
If you had to chose, have a neomorph in your closet or be humiliated in public?
Making videos of xenomorph Queen
Visionary big screen director Ridley Scott steals ideas from Xfiles infection shown in eye and ST:TNG Data/Lore with zero creativity.
That was not an engineer planet!
It's too bad Covenant was a giant mess of a movie.
The Alien franchise is fucked.
