I had bought and read the ALIEN RESURRECTION novelization when it came out after watching the movie, and it was the book that launched me against the way the film was made. Then I read an article where Joss Whedon condemned the way the film was made, essentially hitting every check point I have had on the film. When I saw ROMULUS and the Offspring came out, I literally groaned because the only difference between the Offspring and the Newborn (on book) was the Engineer face. Everything else, the way the Offspring was presented, acted, grew and even the morphing inner mouth came out of the Newborn on the novelization. heck, even the last jumpscare with the Offspring had it screaming like the Newborn. This is why though I enjoyed ROMULUS, I still call it a rehash of ALIEN RESURRECTION even with all the callbacks to the other 3 films before, it is basically ALIEN RESURRECTION done the way it should had been done and to me it still stands as such, ALIEN ROMULUS, the better ALIEN RESURRECTION.
I didn’t have a strong opinion on this movie but seeing all the hate kind of turned me off on it. At least for any hate regarding the design for the creature, I am now realizing it’s people bleeding their dislike into something actually so horrifying their lack of critical thought is actually helping them cope with how successful they were at making something so disgusting
It's not the creature...it's the bad writing, bad pacing, tonal inconsistencies and other such problems that make it a pretty average movie. But it looks cool. Jeunet makes visually wonderful movies.
The whole quadrilogy is actually pretty good. The alien fanbase is just uppity and pretentious like that. Pretty much all of the movies aside from maybe AVP 2 are a decent watch.
That hybrid was a Class 13 nightmare, despite looking interesting, and I didn’t know that it was crying “OH NO” during its death scene. Heck, the fact that thing could talk… ugh.
Octopi are just boneless spiders that live in the ocean. Have you seen how big octopi can become? That's 1 huge boneless spider that knows how to swim and dive so not even water is safe from it
@@youtubestudiosucks978 octopi are very intelligent, though. They can remember and coherently interact with their environment and other living creatures. They can display complex emotions and even form bonds and friendships
When I was a kid, I always heard it yelling “oh no!” while it was being killed. It disturbed me for years. It still does. I have such pity and disgust for this creature.
Sci-fi explained I have an interesting video/ Idea. Why don’t you do a comparison video on Prometheus scripts, final release and novelization. You may want to make a video asking for a few volunteers to help translate the novel since it was only released in a few countries . If the video is done before Christmas . You can release the video and a PDF translation on Christmas Day as a gift to the fans and as a little node to the date that Prometheus takes place.
Yep. Just like that movie. Romulus is just a shitty rehash of Ressurection just with added zero respect for Ripleys legacy or ALIEN as a movie. Yours is the best comment here.
If I had a nickel for every time the alien franchise introduced an alien-human hybrid in the film universe I would have 2 nickels… which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Nooooo I’ll defend the Newborn till my final breath 😭😭😭 I disagree with the angle the novelization went with her- a monster with the mind, needs, and simplicity of a child is an engaging concept as-is. She was curious, angry, and scared- kind of like Ripley 8 in the sense that her human nature was at odds with her alien instincts… The Offspring, meanwhile, was literally just some freaky grownass man 😒 No whimsy, no desire to understand the world. He was born, and immediately goes off to mooch off his mom and beat the shit outta everyone like a chump😒. If I wanted to see that, I’d just visit my uncle.
All Aliens are "hybrids". The Queen's "newborn" was an intentional evolution by her to rid herself of the cycle and create Aliens without the need for hosts.

2:13, damn, bro really used one of those engineers that david killed to censor lmfao
Maybe not the greatest idea to google images of a Newborn Xenomorph’s parts.
The "newborn" part of that search probably flags several agencies regardless of the "from Alien Resurrection" context 💀

I already got a bunch of books I have to read. Now I got another one! Awesome video!
I find this Alien the most disturbing and terrifying and interesting at the same time
Fun fact: it only smacked off the top half of the queen's face, the Queen's animatronic malfunctioned which is how it broke off its own jaw.
8:55 you got me SO excited when you said “Aliens: Dark Descent Pathogen DLC”
Nope…it’s Fireteam Elite.
ooops, sorry on that, both are newer games and i said the wrong one!

Man that thing was hideous. Disturbing.
really amazing video!! subbed
It was about as scary as the time my neighbor's kid dressed up as Pikachu for Halloween.

The Newborn is horrifying to look at

It’s utter garbage. An insult to Gigers Alien.
The censorship tho is hilarious
Resurrection was always my favorite movie in the series
When I was a kid, I always heard it yelling “oh no!” while it was being killed. It disturbed me for years. It still does. I have such pity and disgust for this creature.
I never liked the little horn on it's nose. Made it look kind of silly. Just a skull face would have looked much cooler.

@@ADB696 Should have ended with Alien 3. For all the criticism Alien 3 receives it’s a far superior film to Resurrection and Romulus.
The demise of the Newborn is one of the most horrifying things seen in the whole saga
It sounds like “Oh Mother, Mother No”

I just wanted to know what was that stupid pointy thing on the end of its nose and what was the point of it. ?
I wished it's final form looked like Mewtwo

They always try to mimic
There’s a book ?
I like the Newborn more than the Offspring.
Resurrection was a fun movie…..but saying anymore than that would be a sin ha 😅.
