    Just noticed that I made one mistake - at 18:28 the guitar fret numbers should be: 3566XX. (That’s high to low, 3rd fret G note, 5th fret E note, etc.)

    Thanks for this lesson Paul! Could you show us how you apply this to creating those sick improvised lines you play on the guitar! Thanks!

      This is a great comment! Part of being able to play good lines is thoroughly understanding the harmony that you’re playing over in a fine-grained way. These exercises can help to promote that understanding. It’s just a piece of the puzzle - being able to do this won’t give you the ability to play good lines - but without this deep understanding, you’ll be at a disadvantage.
      I hope to make a few videos about playing lines though, so stay tuned for that - I’m just getting started. Thank you again!

    Good Lesson Paul. How do you know you are in G without checking? Do you have perfect pitch?

    • @PaulPieper
      @PaulPieper  3 роки тому +1

      I definitely don't have perfect pitch! I had an iPad next to me here, with a "piano" app open, which I used before the video started to make sure I was singing a "G", and then periodically throughout filming, I would check to confirm that I hadn't drifted away from that "G".

    It’s a proven fact that adding the #11 to a Dom 13 (b9) can spark a bear attack when performed in the woods. 😅 great lessons, I’m going to try these.
