I do like seeing these little streams you seem to have in abundance near you, it must’ve been nice to be able to get out. Great watch as always
Wow that's a lot of water! I'm sitting here stuck at home because we are having another northeastern snowstorm. Thank you i feel better now that i can watch your videos!
Cheers Ron! It's been really bad, some of the worst floods in decades! We'd take some snow instead of rain!
Baby pinks saved my ass loads of times top fly👍
deadly, isn't it?!
Good to see you get out and get some fishing in. Anything in the net is a win this time of year! It's been a pretty brutal winter over here too. Normally I would get a few days in during the winter but none this year. We just had a big flood too and it has cleared all the slabs of ice off the river so now at least you can get to it. Water temp still only 2c, but will be happening soon!
Thanks Tom! I totally agree, a wet net is an achievement at this time of year! Sounds like you've got some fishing to catch up on when the conditions come right?!
@@IBandAndyFishing Well I've goy to get out in the back yard and see if I can remember how to cast first, then I had better get busy tying some flies!
Great video, always something to learn from your real time commentary. I like the idea of the split shot for deeper water, might be very useful on our Rocky Mountain streams which have some very deep pools.
Thanks Robert! Much appreciated! Give it a go, it'll help no end in snaggy water!
Question :) Why are you allowed to wade in the water? Here in central Europe, wading is not allowed due to the trout eggs which are still in the gravel. And why are you allowed to fish for grayling? Also not allowed here as they are now just before spawning season. Cheers
Great video.
Thanks Herwig, much appreciated!
Great video as always just got my self a Vision nymphomanic 11'3 saw your review about this rod and reel so I went all out and got the combo 😁
Thanks Cram, much appreciated! You have a blast with that outfit, there'll be no stopping you!
I use the drop shot rig often.Very fast to change your weight.Plus hardly ever lose flies. The weather had been terrible in Scotland too.
Great shout Bob, it's a very effective way of fishing and as you say, it reduces your losses!
It is so interesting how different country and way to catch grayling is if i compare. Im from Slovakia and you would never catch grayling in mudy water here. So interesting. Also for spots. In winter you cant find grayling anywhere but only in big holes and slow waters. Rly interesting
cool how these things vary over the world isn't it?!
Hi Andy, excellent video as per usual and your commentary really adds to the enjoyment. I’m heading down to Derbyshire from sunny to Scotland this July for a fortnight with the family (Chapel-en-le-Frith) is there anywhere nearby you could recommend for a cast?
The odd fish here and there, I found the grayling fishing to be the same in the south and seems to be a running theme this season from what other anglers are saying. Good video though, I like how you always say what you are doing and why. It really helps!
A funny old season this one, isn't it? We've rarely had settled conditions, and I really do think that matters.
Appreciate the comments about the commentary too, some folk have said I talk too much, sometimes feel like I can't win! 🤷♂️😂
Great video well done. Do you sell individual flys or just the packs. Thank you
Hi Stephen, just thr packs buddy
What site is that you use to see the water levels please?
Hi Andy, the heads leader you use has about a five foot of level line before taper starts. Do you fish the leader as it comes or do you cut it back.
I leave the level section, it means I'm holding up less weight in the air as a result. I'm struggling to come up with many benefits to cutting it back off the top of my head!
Thanks for your reply. Great idea to use spot shot instead of point fly.
Thanks Joan! It won't please the traditionalists but it's very effective!
Hi Andy. Good to see you out and about again. I noticed you were wearing kneepads to protect your wader knees. Any recommendations?
IB got me these for Christmas, I'll ask her and let you know! 🙈😂
@@IBandAndyFishing Include me in that as well, please Andy.
Can you send me a message on Instagram? Or Facebook? And I will send you the link

Great video Andy, I.B's bad language obviously rubbing off on you 😂😂😂 used shot for years because its cheaper and less painful than losing flies on snaggy bottoms, an easy way to adjust depth and I don't see why some have an issue with it. Nice flies and good to see you still enjoying the rod, its a cracker eh! Say hi to I.B
Thanks Graham, she's a bad influence isn't she?! Great shout on the shot, it's something I've been doing for a while but haven't really shown. I got sick of losing flies on the Dee at Llangollen and bit the bullet 😂😂
not as exciting as the big fishy's but not bad:D ... you've had more rain that we have down here in Gods county of Warwickshire although the local river is fairly high but not across the fields like you've got .
