  • From the old SPEED channel, Jeff Hammond hosts this feature on Dale Inman. After acting as mechanic and crew chief for Petty Enterprises throughout 198 of "The Kings" 200 victories, Inman went on to work for Rod Osterand, J.D. Stacy and Billy Hagan. The show features interviews with former Petty Enterprises team members Barry Dodson, Doug Richert, Robbie Loomis and Buddy Baker. Additionally, Darrell Waltrip reflects on losing the hard fought 1979 NASCAR Cup championship and Terry Labonte reflects on winning the 1984 NASCAR Cup Championship.

The success of Petty Enterprises was built on family. Lee Petty was a pioneer racer. His two sons, Richard and Maurice Petty followed in their dad’s footsteps. Their cousin, Dale Inman served as the team’s Crew Chief. Together they enjoyed great success in the NASCAR Cup racing series winning seven (7) championships. In the golden years, this team was considered to be the standard that other teams aspired to achieve. In order to beat the best, you have to be the best and the #43 Petty Enterprises was the best for several years.
