Terry is a 2x champ. Not to mention he was named Iron Man with 655 consecutive starts. Just think of that with safety the way it was back then compared to now.
Not even a diehard nascar fan(but interested in any kind of motorsports) but LaBonte, it’s an iconic name. Doesn’t he also have a brother called Bobby?
I know your dad is so proud of you Dale. You’ve built your own legacy in this sport, are developing talent and winning with JRM, and archiving stock car history with this podcast. Thank you and Kelley and all your team members from bottom to top for what y’all do.
Terry Labonte is probably the nicest, down to earth driver I met in NASCAR. He was one of three drivers that was still friendly and open, after I no longer had significant influence on a big corporate checkbook… He treated me exactly the same…. It was eye opening… and much appreciated !
Hanging out with "old heads" so cool that they wanted you to hang out with them. They cared so very much about you. They are so awesome filling a huge void for you especially when you needed it most.
They probably all promised each other, when something happens, look for my kid... even if not many drivers would feel like they owe it to dale for helping them somewhere!
As a wedding photographer, THANK YOU for telling all the guys to "just do the pictures". You'll want them in the future. They are all you'll have left after the day is over...
I love how Dale is a softy at heart. I totally agree though... those moments in your life you wish you could experience all over again. Seeing the bride for the first time are core memories!
Those OGs like the Labontes, Burtons, Rudd, Martin, Marlin, Schrader, Jarrett, Wallaces, Waltrips, etc are a huge part of what’s missing today. They all loved your dad and absolutely wanted to look out for you. They knew they couldn’t just bluntly tell you to wear the very thing that might have saved your dad - the emotions were still too raw. But they knew exactly how to bring you out and deliver that message. What a story.
Lol theres nothing missing today. The generation is just different, just like jr’s generation was different thans sr’s. sr’s wasnt even the “OG” generation. Excellent commentary, always love to hear you talk about the past with and without Dale Sr. . Watkins has always been a favorite for me. I can still remember your father passing cars with the front and rear of his damaged heavily. Never missing a shift, and always getting to the front. Love it !!
My dad passed away in 1997 when I was 7 months old and I was given his Dale sr collection so when he died in 2001 it was like losing my dad for the first time. I love that you keep up the fan interaction and this show

You are just as married the next day no matter how the wedding turns out. And beware: if your woman wants a groom way more than a husband, run.
I think I received one of Dale Jrs first autographs from him wearing a cup suit. Daytona 2000 in the garage. Dale didn't even have a marker handy and he used a ink pin I had with Indy cars racing inside of it. Not a picture. Actual moving objects shaped as Indy cars racing inside the ink pin. Dale Jr liked it and made a comment on it. We spoke shortly about the pen. We were both the same age. Jr I appreciate you .
Why are you teasing me with Terry Labonte in the thumbnail? It would be more accurate to put a wedding photo in it since this video is 60% wedding talk 😂
As for the wedding advice - The Groom needs to remember that yes he's an important part of the day but it's not all about him. Do everything in your power to make sure that she is happy.
Remember if you picked the right person, then there should never be anything more than them. Now remember that when you think there is something to argue about. Remember they are more important than everything and there is no reason to argue and be angry with them about, because they are the most important part of your life.
Well said and even an extra disposable camera on each table that they take fun pics and leave it there at the end to be developed too (old school pictures 📸 signed everybody's Favorite Aunt Martha : ) ps You can look at how my old soccer buddies do a live show at FMTV (Futbol Miami TV )...they continually put up a graphic with the best live conversations in the chat to interact plus have the call in message number to discuss the topics at hand that week or any fun newsworthy topics of our team 📲 📺🎙️
My wife and I were together for over a decade before We actually went and got married. I do remember some of the day, but not much. It went by so fast. I had to view the videotape of the reception to kind of remember what had happened. One of the things I'm thankful for is My wife wanted 2 Disposable cameras on each table for the guests to take sporadic photos. that's where we got the best reactions. I wouldn't change it for the world. And I would do it again in a minute. We have been together in total thirty-three years now.
Terry "The ICEMAN" Labonte. He didn't do his talking through the media or cause drama on Pit road even if another driver wronged him he didn't start fights or even go talk to the driver that wronged him. The ICEMAN did his talking on the track.
Double ps I know there are alot of personal lifestyle question but some folks like that too - so if you lengthen this and make it interactive then the fans drive the show (no pun intended ; ) 🎉 M.
I'll ask this since she probably doesn't read comments from UA-cam. How did you meet? I know she did some design work in your house, but I remember some profile of you before a race. Maybe Texas? Talking about how shy you were, but saw a girl you wanted to talk to but she walked off before you said anything to her. Don't remember exact details but maybe her mom gave you her number or one of your crew got it??? Seems like same time frame when you and Amy started dating
Dalton, just remember You are the HEAD of the family, But your wife is the neck and the neck ALWAYS TURNS THE HEAD! My father in-law told me this on my wedding day, and he was right! Congratulations
I was the best man in a wedding and when it was time for pictures I took the wedding ring out of my suit pocket and put II in the trunk of my car because it made the pocket bulge weirdly, at least I thought it did. It wasn’t until moment before the groom was to put the ring on his new wife that I remembered it was in the trunk still. In the video the father of the bride took you see me begin to rock back and forth as I knew what I had to do. You see me leave the screen and it was timed I was gone 48 seconds before returning with the ring just in time. Dale is right, something…Something, will go wrong. Enjoy it. Everyone at the reception enjoyed watching me leave and return over and over.
I'll be honest (and this is just me), but Dale Jr's podcast isn't the same anymore and that's a negative. Nothing personal, but I don't really care to hear from his wife on a monthly basis and I don't really care for the Ask Dale Jr. part of his program anymore because most of the questions are silly. I also don't really like those two guys that are in the studio with him. I actually miss Mike Davis being in the studio; I actually miss the setup of his old studio. Just had to get that off my chest.
Don't marry someone who has mental problems and who hates their own family members. Also lose weight before you get married because you need to fit into your clothes and not have a chubby/fat face this goes for bride and the groom my ex wife wore a corset and she planned our wedding for August in Virginia and she had to be cut out of her dress to even breath after our ceremony leaving me to eat dinner alone......

Advice for wedding: Don't get the state involved in your personal relationship- that's weird...
But great to hear stories about legends like Schrader & Labonte taking care of young Dale Jr.
I agree about the legal aspect of marriage. Nothing about that piece of paper actually makes the relationship more valid. If anything, it only serves to contaminate it.

Terry "The ICEMAN" Labonte. He didn't do his talking through the media or cause drama on Pit road even if another driver wronged him he didn't start fights or even go talk to the driver that wronged him. The ICEMAN did his talking on the track.
Trying to get a live show on Tuesday is hard… biggest podcast in drag racing is live on Tuesdays. 😬😬
Terry labonte asked you to wear a full face helmet The Iceman
Double ps I know there are alot of personal lifestyle question but some folks like that too - so if you lengthen this and make it interactive then the fans drive the show (no pun intended ; ) 🎉 M.
Why are the ask jr’s not on the podcast anymore?
Umm, umm the video starts at 10:15 if you're under the impression the video is about the topic in the title..
I’ve at times wondered what the hell good a HANS or Hutchins device would do with an open face helmet.
It would work the same. Both are tethered to the back of the helmet
IRONMAN 🏁👍
I remember around this time there was talk of Dale Jr still wearing an open faced helmet…
A good wedding photographer will get a list of shots you want and your favorite friends and family. Photography should be worry free.
Perhaps this has already been answered, but what's up with the Renault 4 diecast?
5:05 Not about you at all. That whole day is for her. Yes to everything, fix any problem that she brings to you.
😂😂😂
Doesn't even start talking about the video topic until nearly 10 minutes into the video~
Andrew I just want you to know, you pick the absolute worst questions.
Pay for a good photographer. Your friends and their phones won’t cut it. So glad we paid for a pro. We ain’t never gonna look that good again.

All younger men need guidance from the older men!
No Mike? Wtf?
Old heads 😂😂
First? Maybe.
You don't have to watch 🤔
@@alexhathcock1380 I don't watch it nearly as much as I used to. I used to watch it every week.
This videos are so annoying waiting ten minutes to get to the story in the title.
Don’t screw the brides sister nite before wedding
S
Good Lord I miss Mike Davis and the old crew, these two who sit in the studio with Jr now are annoying AF.
Good grief 10 mins of wedding advice! Ouch!
10 min of wedding advice wtf lol.
