I hope you enjoy this video of me buying the brand new Rolex Datejust 41mm Mint Green Dial.
I'm so glad that I could bring you along to the experience and document this amazing moment.

Configuration - Jubilee Bracelet and White Gold Fluted Bezel.
As stated in the video, I have been so lucky to receive the call from my local Rolex Authorised dealer. The team at Mappin and Webb were fantastic and made the whole experience so special as always. I did not for a second think i would be offered one of the new Rolex model releases so soon. I am breathing proof that these watches can be obtained through your Authorised Dealers, you just need to be patient and be certain of the models you want to acquire.
I hope this video brings someone out there some entertainment and advice as many other videos on youtube have done for me. The Watch Collecting community on UA-cam is amazing and I sit watching everyone's videos and am grateful that I am able to make this content for you.

Absolutely beautiful. The mint color reflets as blue in certain angles which makes it more special. Great choice and lucky you! I have 41 mm rhodium and same configuration as yours but looking at yours mine looks little bit dull now. too grey..lol

You're a young man with great taste, and two Datejusts and two GMTs are a perfect collection!
Wear the heck out of them and they'll still be going strong when you hit my age.
While I've worn this brand more than 40 years, I've discovered ANY model can go anywhere, doing anything, at anytime.
Therefore whichever watch I'm wearing I tend to leave it on my wrist for months or years without alternating.
(I don't give advice) but stop buying now, wear those for 25 years, then buy a Day-Date and give current watches to family members.

Great video! If you had a 2 watch collection, the DJ41 mint jubilee and one other what would you pick? I have a black stainless sub 41mm as my other watch, should I change it for a 2 tone bluesy or keep stainless sub and the DJ?
The green dial is indeed very handsome, fits so well with the rest of the watch being all steel. I prefer it in the new fluted motif though instead of plain. Gives the watch another dimension to it.
I got on the waiting list for the Datejust 41mm gold/steel combo (jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel, and gold fluted dial) in August. Was told at the time I may need to wait until next year or longer. Out of the blue, I got called last week that I can purchase it. Didn't expect to be called so quickly. Went to pick it up 3 days later. Datejust by far the classiest watch with the Day-Date. Now on the list for the Pepsi and Kermit. Hoping I made a good impression with the dealer to get these next year.

Congratulations! I bought the same watch from my AD a couple of weeks ago. Stunning watch. Excellent service from Bucherer. Next will be my new Submariner. If anyone wants to know how I am getting Rolexes at a retail. Simple, I have been buying all my watches from different brands from the same dealer, from the same person. Even if I don’t like a watch and have to return it I leave the money as a store credit - for the next one… I always believed in a relationships and trust. And I will never flip a watch for a profit.
Looks stunning... have to say never thought I'd like the DJ but now contemplating, also love the black dial 41mm. I'm moving more to the classic look. Registered interest with AD for a 36mm bi Wimbledon for the Mrs, put my name against Bluesy. Sold my Daytona + Hulk.....which are very nice, i think are both over hyped TBH
Really enjoy the channel...Tough questioner for you- -I have a fantastic relationship with my AD, and am trying to decide between the exact Datejust configuration you chose or a GMT Pepsi or Batgirl (both would be on a jubilee bracelet).

I just picked up my DateJust with mint green dial and jubilee bracelet yesterday . I was shocked it only took 3 months . Stunning color to see it in person . The AD told me she had only seen a few come through the store .

@@Shadowsofmine Nope, I was told this is not an option, I assume that is the rule for all dealers. Although, if your watch comes in AFTER Rolex does an annual price increase, you end up paying the newest prices.

You’re the luckiest guy in the world. Love your watches. Still waiting on my Date Just 41mm with two tone jubilee stainless and everose with chocolate dial and and diamonds markers. It’s been 4 months, hope it will come soon.
Got one ready for purchase at my local AD minus the diamonds. They got it in but no one here is on a list for it.

Does the fluted bezel become a little less "bling y" with some wear? I like it, i am just concerned it would be too much for every day wear. Whats your experience been ?

Congratulations on getting the Rolex. I personally like the two tone yellow gold datejust 41 with the Wimbledon dial and fluted bezel, and the datejust 41 with the blue dial and fluted bezel. But that’s just my personal preference.

To be honest mate, I think it’s the best all rounder Rolex you can buy. Absolutely stunning and eye catching whilst also been really comfy. 100% would recommend

The 9th must have been a date ADs had pieces ready to give out. I purchased a DJ41 Fluted Blue on Oyster on the 9th Dec, again, call came out of the blue. Had been waiting since April

To be honest both are excellent. I would say the green pops slightly more, and I think the colour is the best in the date just range. My dad actually had my blue one, he bought it from me after I was offered the green dial. Of course I sold him it at retail price :)

Any tips on what dealers to go to? I'm on the waiting list at watches of switzerland for this same config without fluted bezel. Getting for MSc graduation and love the green. Congrats on the watch!
Yes im with WOS also through Mappin and Webb. I dont think it matters too much. Im very loyal to mt AD and always buy jewlery and gifts through them, i would never buy anywhere else as they have been so good to me over the last couple of years. My advice be loyal and build a relationship, and only buy what you actually want or need.

I've been on the list for a Batgirl for a year or so and they have asked me to pick one and they will have it available in January. As much as I love the Datejust, I had to go with the Batgirl. If I refuse it now I may not get another chance. I recently picked up the Rootbeer too. Happy Christmas 🎄⌚

ive been on a waiting list for 2 and half years and no calls, bought several tudors to try get a relationship. ive given up now but im happy you got yours
Got to keep the relationship. If you buy a Tudor just to flip it to get up the list this won’t work. Buy items like jewellery for gifts ( doesn’t need to be expensive) and then you will build a solid relationship.
Also don’t use a city centre AD. Imagine the calibre of people going in there. Use one from a quieter area
@Experience it with Adam Buying jewellery don't work either, might have worked for you. Ultimately the dealer could be a absolute cunt and therefore regardless how much you buy you won't get a Rolex piece. They are scums who make side money from desperate buyers.
@@JH-Baksh yeah your meeting the wrong people man…. I spent couple of hundred here and there on birthdays that was it. But always stayed loyal to them. If I wanted jewellery I got it from them. Nothing I bought other than watches was over £250

Well done Adam, i'm cut from the same cloth as you pal, your watch collection journey seems just a front in touch of mine! However i got my first rolex ( & my first ever purchase ) from my local AD 1.5 years ago ( yacht 40 Rhodium ) YES i'm scared to wear that one!.. since then about 6 months later i got the call for a Black Sub date ( I wear this alot more ) and 1 week ago i walked in and unexpectedly they offered me a DJ36 roman dial for my partner which she loves.. Now for the cherry on the cake... my AD sales guy told me the Rootbeer is coming next and will probably be about 3-4 months from now!! absolutely amazing collecting these watches and i feel so happy to have made a genuinely great relationship with my local AD.

@@Experienceitwithadam exactly mate, same with me too! i was just honest and genuine i also wear my watches back to. I just like the open and honest talks we always have, we often discuss how much they are worth etc on the aftremarket and have good talks about the amount of customers that go in trying it on ( first time buyers wanting a daytona for example haha.. honesty is best policy I guess.. however i'm really hoping one day they take on more customers for the daytona and others that are a little bit out of reach.. ( i can't wait for the new releases i might try and be quick when they emerge!! and get myself on the list

If you don’t mind me asking what do you do for work? You have a lovely collection.. wish my job allowed me to afford such beautiful watches. I have just started my Rolex journey with a OP41 black face (wedding present from the mrs). Absolutely in love with it - so understated and perfect for everyday use.
Fun fact I’ve actually just pivoted out of my actual trained employees t. Take a massive risk ( and massive wage cut), to pursue something more exiting. I hope it worth the risk!

Damn. That's the watch I REALLY want. Maybe the motif version. I'm picking up a fluted/jubilee yellow gold/steel Wimbledon 41 next week, which I'm kinda in two minds about. Partly because it's not a good investment being so underlist but partly because I see these white gold/steel configs and I think I like them better. But a Wimbledon was the first watch I wanted when I registered 2 years ago.

I am on the (long) waiting list for a DateJust, and I have both the green and blue motif on order to test out both. I’m starting to think the smooth blue dial may be the best looking.
And of course, I’ve ordered both on jubilee with fluted bezel. What colour should I go for? I like the blue motif, but will is still be desirable in years to come? Any advice or help would be really appreciated. Thanks.
I put my top three as the mint, Wimbledon and blue motif , green being top . I was on the waitlist for 3 months which is short compared to some people . I ended up getting my top pick , green. The AD told me she saw very few come through the Atlanta store . I almost took my name off the list but SO happy I didn’t
I would suggest that you dont hassel your AD if the watch becomes available they will sell you it. You need to show loyalty and buy other items such as small gifts for family ect. dont expect to be offered in demand watches if you havnt shown the AD loyalty back. It needs to be a mutual agreed partnership. Ill do a video on this :)

Question for you Adam. I see you have the Rootbeer GMT as well as this Green Dial DJ41. I have been offered both these watches but I can only take one. Which one do you prefer? I know its about personal preferences, but I've never handled the GMT in the flesh. I've owned a DJ41 two tone previously and I currently own an Explorer 2. I dont care about resale. I'm more partial to the green DJ41 but which would you pick having owned them both? Thanks kindly
For me, the Rootbeer is superior mate! Feels so special on the wrist! Mines tucked away in the safe and I only wear it on special occasions. The Date just is equally as stunning, but is more of a daily for me
Ps the Rootbeer is 1mm smaller and I feel sits just a little less large on the wrist

Looks great. Everyone wants sports models but I love datejust's they work well when dressed as a gentlemen. I have the blue diamond dail steel and white gold model 41mm.
Ahh stunning watch mate! I do agree plus the DJ just fits under a jumper or shirt so much better. if DJ were limited in supply like the sports, people would be all over them. Its a clever game of ' you want what you can't have'.,
