This is the Disturbed I know. Most people know them for sound of silence but this is more their style. I absolutely love this song! ♥️
Yup.
Agreed
Absolutely! The early 00's had amazing rocking bands that were so underated.
kj robbi 👆🏻
Sonam Bhatti 🙌🏻
This is the real sound of Disturbed. Incredible band!
"The only song I've heard by them so far is their cover of 'Sounds of Silence'" Oh..... this react is going to be hilarious.
LMAO, literally the SAME thing I was thinking. I was literally LOL waiting for it.
DAVID DRAMIEN IS A BAD ASS VOCALIST. LOVE DISTURBED AND I AM 53 YEARS OLD.
I'm 55 and love them!! And then some days I listen to Marvin Gaye. Depends on my mood but Stupify is nice and funky too!
By the way I'm 65. HA!!!😂😂😂😂
@Gerald H 😆
57 here and they are bad ass...
I'm 58 and absolutely love Disturbed! Had never even heard of them until the cover of Sound of Silence but decided to try listening to their older stuff...and now, I'm really hoping to see them in concert asap. One of my favorites bands now--I especially love "Down With The Sickness", "Are You Ready", "Hold Onto Memories", and "A Reason To Fight". Rock on.....
Loved this whole album of theirs! Listen to Stupify, Voices, and The Game...also they did two great covers..Shout(Tears for Fears) and Land of Confusion(Genesis)
This CD stays in the player in my car. Disturbed is always at the ready, whenever I need them
You did the radio edit. The full version is a lot better
NO IT IS NOT
An artist does a song a certain way for a reason. There's a message they're trying to convey. When the label or video producer changes to song for time, it takes something away from the message.
Not everyone likes the full version, but I love it! It is a bit much to those with delicate souls 😉
The reaction would have been a lot more fun if it was the full version, for sure!
The full version is political. The mother represents government, the child being society.
i can't resist imitating David when i say "give it to me" in my daily life. (50 year old librarian, here!) 😂
Same....
🤣
Hubby and I are 68 and love Disturbed! Ppl that come into our home are shocked at our playlist! Lol!
There's like a whole minute cut out from the radio edit. He goes proper nuts on the real version
Disturbed is a great band Jay. They have great music. David can saaang!
Yup, one of Disturbed's iconic music. David (lead singer) uses a voice technique called voice frying, kind of like a rasp. A tough technique but he pulls it off greatly and uses it in almost everything of his music. They are a great band even now
This is the Disturbed I grew up on. Their sound has changed from their last album, which was fittingly enough called Evolution and had The Sound of Silence on. But they have so many great hits. The Land of Confusion,
Indestructible,
Another Way To Die,
Are you ready are some of my favorites.
Oh, and Never Again.
Always looking forward to your reactions. Today Don Henley - The Boys of Summer came to my mind.
Oh yes good shout! X
This Band is completely amazing J! Everyone in the group is a master of song in his own right. They work very well together creating unique and emotionally stimulating music. I was a boring old accountant crunching numbers all day long. Plugging in my earbuds with Disturbed at max volume as I keyed in number after number is the only way I didn't lose my mind. I was not surprised at all when they delivered The Sound of Silence cover performance. I knew they had the skills, depth, and ceative variety to blend such immensely diverse styles of music into a song like that. I can't wait to view your next reaction to some of their other songs. You're awesome J!
Disturbed is a FANTASTIC band. David has the voice of a GOD! I'm 50 years old and I rock out to them daily!!! Any song you pick is fantastic. I love Prayer, The Vengeful One, 10,00 Fists in the Air, Indestructible, The Light. I could keep going
Love the way the voices seem to float above the music. Never heard this group other than sound of silence. Understand how they were able to. Well crafted heavy and beautiful voices.
Yes!! David Draiman the lead singer is classically trained...trained for a time as a Cantor in the Jewish faith. He is an amazing tenor voice with quite a range. He works that grungy, guttural sound better than anyone!! I love when he works it between the growl/rasp of his vocals and then up to that floaty tenor!!! ❤❤❤❤ Hia voice makes me melt!!!
This song was also at the end of the remake movie “Dawn of the Dead”
And on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack and in the movie.
I enjoyed the other version of it in the movie
Jay, if you listen to this again listen to the long version. There are many other verses to it . It’s worth it 👍🏻
This is actually the first song I ever heard. And I fell in love with him you should try listening to the explicit one that tells you more about the song what it's about
Disturbed know how to rock!
Thanks HEAPS, J!!!
In this current environment, DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS!
May everyone stay well and happy ✌️
(This is what I meant in yesterday's comment on how the heavy rockers compose all their music in the most deliberate way).
Flock, I loved that!
Please check out Shinedown - Sound Of Madness...I think you'll like it.
YES!!!
Lots of Shinedown to try...
Oh yeah, I freaking love Shinedown!!!
Check out Stricken by Disturbed, that's my fav song of theirs, ever. They have many great ones🤘, great reaction.
David Draiman trained as a classical singer as a child, and trained as a Cantor for his synagogue. That is one reason that he can do the insane things with his voice and maintain a career for over a decade.
Disturbed has been there for me through every stage of life and it just seems like their sound has grown up with me. Check out Light by Disturbed. A lot more chill but still such a powerful song
Agree! Play that that song when I really need some empowering ♡
David Draiman......awesome singer!! Can go from clear as crystal to rasp to scream and back on a dime!!
David Draiman has stated that the song "Speaks about the eternal struggle of the individual against the mother culture of society that is constantly trying to beat the child struggling for independence and individuality into submission."
Man, I'd never heard any other songs by them other than The Sound of Silence either and this sounded like a completely different singer! He has such an amazing voice!
The first time I heard this song was during the credits of the 2004 zombie movie Dawn of the Dead. It was a perfect fit to the movie, and whatever they meant the song to be about, for me - it will always be zombies!!! Excellent movie, by the way. And this is my favorite song by Disturbed, best video of this song. David Dramien is indescribable. I just enjoy the hell out of watching him perform and hearing him make sounds I've never heard before! LOL
I love DISTURBED!! David Draiman has an AMAZING voice!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I grew up listening to Disturbed. This came off their debut album when I was like 11 or 12. This video is the cut down version of the song, the album unedited version is longer and better
How does he do that? Years and years of vocal training. LOVE David.
!!!!
This song took us all by surprise when it came out. Another one to try is "Saliva - Click Click Boom (Official Video)"
I love seeing people fall in love with Disturbed!!
I was eagerly awaiting the reaction to the first 'ooh ah ah ah ah', and you did not disappoint 😂😂
I know this also from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. That movie has so many good songs! I have the whole thing in my playlist for when I need a headbanger / rock out tune
(Me always recognizing songs from the movies 😂)
Fun fact about that movie and soundtrack: Jonathan Davis of Korn was in the movie as the ticket scalper and did the soundtrack, he asked all of his famous musicians buddies from Static X and LP, to name a few to sing on the song he wrote for the movie. Great soundtrack
Am I the only one who was mesmerized by the headphones on his shirt? Lol, Jayvee I love that the way you got into the song made it look like they were animated to the beat!
I absolutely LOVE this song.My son turned me on to this song!!!! I'm so glad you reacted to this song.My adrenaline is pumping! This is coming from a die hard Motown fan. 💙💙💙💙!!
One of my top 10 bands and songs
Just discovered a song by them called Hold on to Memories. Wow... I cried a lot!
the two keys that people are hooked on that caught you off guard;
oh-wa-ah-ah-ah and then he says 'oh oh' (3 times) when you said he was 'clearing his throat.' LOL.
Need to listen to it, as LOUD as you can stand it! And I'm an old man!
Saw them at localpalooza in MA when they weren't even famous yet and I was blown away1
This should be wayyy more popular than it is showing on the likes of this song.
I guess there's some old rockers here - like me - but I thank my [adult] son for letting me know they existed.
Ooh-la-la! 😘
PS: I've watched this twice already 👌
“I’ve only heard The Sound of Silence” … hoooo boy you’re in for a treat 🤣
This was one of my gym songs. When you want to throw a lot of weight around, this song will help you do it.
Been waiting for this LOVE IT Jayvee keep it up xxxxxxx
Alright!!
Check out Disturb's
Stricken
Prayer.
My favorite rock band. I've seen them in concert 6 times over the last 20 years and was supposed to see them again in August but of course that was postponed. Check out Indestructible, 10,000 Fists, From the first album I like Voices. So much great music to sing/scream along with! Funny but 10 years ago yesterday I was at a Disturbed concert (taking my 16yr old niece to her first ever concert).
I was supposed to see them this summer too--so bummed that it didn't happen. Oh well, maybe next summer...
I remember when this came out, freshman year of college around 2001. This song was huge.
That noise David Draiman is a classically trained, just came out hen they were making the album, everybody liked it so they kept it in the song. Disturbed is a HEAVY METAL BAND. DAVID DRAIMAN IS THE BALD LEAD SINGER
Next up from Disturbed: The Light. Such a powerful song and great lyrics!
For a laugh, you should check out the Richard Cheese version of this song. It was used in the Dawn Of The Dead soundtrack.
Singer David Drayman singing
" Forsaken " is brilliant
Its from the film Queen of the Damned about Vampires
My fave film
My fave song .. Forsaken!
Check it out..
The Game by Disturbed. Underrated IMO.
I don't know what made disturb decide they were gonna do a cover of sound of silence. I do know that it took them 6 years of working with the song to put out the final product.Disturbed is a heavy metal rock group. You don't tap your feet and head bop, you head bang. You almost had head banging down.Inside the fire is a really good song but it deals with a very sensitive topic, that of suicide. The lead singer when he was 16 discovered his girlfriend who had committed suicide. The song is about his experience.
2004-2009 if you saw a kid getting angry to this song, you knew to help him, if you saw a kid very still, very relaxed, you knew he was about to beat someone’s ass up and down the yard.
This guy's voice is crazy ❤️
they really deliver in concert too!
Was 17 when this dropped on MTV music was something back then
Love love love your reactions, Jayvee !!!!!!
I have this song on my MP3 player and listen to very often.
Yup, there they are you should check out Stupify, that was the first track I heard them and have been hooked ever since
I'm Disturbed that it was your first time hearing tunes.
🤘😆🤘
OooHwawa!! Ah ah ah!
"way more disturbed" yes, please!
Oh man please do full version. It's got a pretty good addition.
I've been down with the sickness my whole life.
That song was off their first album .... check out the song "meaning of life" and "Indestructible"
Great Reaction. Can't believe this doesn't have 5k likes!
Love you, Brother... Many thanks for your insight.
Stupefy and Liberate are another couple you should check out. They usually have great riffs and interesting lyrics, so you really can't go wrong. Dave Draiman has such a powerful voice. Definitely check out more from them. You won't regret it.
Loved this. Great reaction. I agree with everyone else you owe it to yourself to check out the full version of this it's really good
He's voice is awesome, I heard he was taught for opera.
Everytime I hear the "wa a a a " part I think of fozzy bear saying "wacka wacka" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love it hell yeah!!!!!!!
MOTLEY CRUE:
KICKSTART MY HEART
PRIMAL SCREAM
SHOUT AT THE DEVIL
Anyone want to add?✌❤🎶😁
How about Dr. Feelgood, Home Sweet Home, and/or Girls, Girls, Girls.
@@michelerosevear7466 thanks for adding! I'm surprised more people aren't getting on board with Crue. They'd be awesome to listen and react to!
Have a good day!✌❤🎶😁
Wow, Primal Scream is a good overlooked song. If I had to add to the list, I'd say Too Fast For Love or Too Young to Fall In Love.
Your reactions to metal songs are just the best.
I can't remember if you've reacted to Godsmack's song Whatever, but that's a definite mood too.
Rock music matters!! We need more of it!
I second the recommendation of "Stricken". Another of the their best songs. Would you believe David Draiman was on track for becoming a rabbi when he was younger? True story.
Heck yeah enjoy this awesome song. Thanks.
You should check out the songs Stupify & the Vengeful One (video) by Disturbed.
Seen these guys many times in concert and they always put on a good show. Must react to Stupified
I think I've already said what a great song and great review this was.
My son has been a Disturbed fan since day dot, and I asked him about the next Disturbed song to recommend to you. I know it's taken a bit, but 'TenThousand Fists' is what he recommended that you review next.
Please give it a crack, Jayvee TV 😎👌❤️✌️
PS: I thought it ROCKED! x
The song Animal from Disturbed is good also.
You've probably not heard of Tower Records is but I was there buying this CD on my lunch break the day it came out. The cashier told me Disturbed had been there for a promotion and I missed them by only 10 minutes!
When my kids were little, they used to ask me to play the “monkey song” because of the ooh wah ah ah ah, but I was partial to Stupify.
I love how they did Sounds of Silence but really dig this song more, just energizes me
Inside the Fire - Disturbed!
This... Is... Disturbed... 🖤
You have the EDITED version here!
This is good, but please do stricken. Thanks!
If anyone is looking for workout music this is 1000% the band to listen to. Just be careful working out around people because there songs have a tendency to make you go beast mode and you might punch someone in the face
When people was at Costco fighting over toilet paper this song came out perfect timing 😂 😂 😂
👍 I wore out 4 of this CD. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Stricken, inside the fire, 10,000 fist, are you ready? By Disturbed
Love this 😀 ❤️
Do Inside the Fire. There's a real passion to it too, because of David's personal experience.
nu metal is back in 2020 let's gooo!!
Not my usual kind of thing..... But I love his voice sooooooo much! ❤️
Sound of silence is Simon and Garfunkel song.
I’m 60 and SINGIN!!!!!
Great to see you jamming to some hard stuff. 🤘 Exploring is mind opening✌ 🎧Alice in Chains🎧 next!🙏
Yessss especially from their unplugged
