I'm beginning to binge all of your interviews. They don't feel like regular media interviews. Instead it feels like a catching up with an old friend. Big fan!
It's so nice to hear a truly curious interviewer who doesn't have to pander to a studio audience and cram in four jokes before the next commercial break
Great convo ! Roy is clearly a pro & understands his industry very well. He’s perfectly right to take the stance he has w/ regards to the Daily Show. They either wanna continue & want him for the job or they don’t, they just need to decide & guest hosting ain’t gonna change that. As for the title… I think political comedy struggles less in the internet era than it does in the Trumpty Dumpty era. It’s nearly impossible to come up w/ something funnier than what he or his acolytes actually say… when what they say isn’t actually making you pull your hair out & want to smash your head against a brick wall ! Check out TYT’s “man on the street” vids & you’ll be on a rollercoaster of laughter & tears/depression.
To me this interview illustrates why Woods would have been a *tremendously* good Daily Show host. There was a lot of ball-dropping over there, not offering him the seat.
This was a really good conversation. Roy is the kind of comedian I look for who tells a story and behind the scenes talks about how he observes the world. And Tom was a really good conversation partner, being a very good listener, giving Roy the stage but probing and moving the conversation when needed. Both laughing about silly jokes but never losing sight of the core of the conversation. Well done gentlemen 👍👍
People are turning away from the CBC because it is out of touch. And not because alternative forms of media exist. Address the real elephant in the room if you want to keep broadcasting 🤷🏻♂️
As an older comedian that started 3 years ago I have learnt so much from Roy Woods and Earthquake that have save 5 years off my journey just by watching their interviews and I got to say Thanks soooo much!
Great interview. Enjoyable conversation, some humor, and a chance to learn about communication through comedy and satire. Loved it. Now subscribed - looking forward to more.
No, he specified American Thanksgiving, because Canadian thanksgiving is in October, and you’re talking about a timeline, and he wanted to clarify the date.
It's funny that he talks about how food is one of only four things that everyone can relate to in comedy, because I always love his food bits in stand-up and on the daily show but he seems to be kinda the only one doing that, no one else can speak about food in a way that's both funny and profound at the same time

Phenomenal conversation
Damn! This guy has only side to a story. Seems kinda racist

I really appreciate your interviews as they are a greatly interesting conversation rather than power point presentation on comedy and politics

I'm a harder fan of RWJr now than I ever was. Thank you for your beautiful honesty.
Walter Cronkite was my news source as a child, we only got 3 channels but, news told just the news, it wasn’t political. I miss that.
What a full and in depth interview, thanks Mr. Power :)
Great interview!!

New to the interviewer/channel. Long time fan of Roy. B-ham about 2 hours from my front door. But I'm digging the channel.

“Ope.” - Me, a Tennessean. 7:30
One of my absolute favourite interviews on this show…… and I’ve seen many
Another superb interview from Tom Power

You should check out jim gaffigan if you’re into that stuff ☺️
Wait. Tom Power, from CBC?
Sadly, he wasn't as funny at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Great interview!
How is it possible to have 240k subscribers and only 640 views... Defund the CBC.
