Thank you for the concise explanation and demo. I can relate to the multiple tries on the 5th wheel release...

I was playing the American Truck Simulator and at one point I became curious about how loading/unloading onto such trailers happens? I thought that I couldn’t do without a hole, because the front part of the trailer was intact and it wouldn’t be possible to lower it normally. Thanks for your video, now I know what it really looks like)

Just got Into mechanical RGN.. I have a air valve pin they taught me to not release the pin until I back up under the trailer...they say then hook up red air hose push red knob supply then release the pin...don't the trailer have an air tank that has air to release the pin? Instead of rebooking up the red hose all the time? Why go thru extra steps. If it will release without hooking up the red line.

The trailer don’t have enough air pressure , to luck or unluck the pin

Too many steps! Get the hydraulic RGN! If you're loading equipment on a time based situation, you'd be late everyday. The hydraulic set up is so much faster with the tractor pto or onboard pony motor. The neck stays attached to the tractor the whole time!

Powered neck on the RGN is all well and good, until the pony motor, or hydraulic system takes a dump on you. Mechanical setup is more work, but way more reliable. This driver had it unhooked, and hooked back up in less than 10 minutes. If that's making you late, you need to have a talk with your load planners!
Good job on the video, Driver.

that costs a lot more money

@@Tobyyyy2 it might, but that depends on if it's new or used. But when it comes to quickness, the trailer will just about pay for itself!
