Great job dude! You are the first person to do a diy on doing C7 engine mounts including lowering the subframe! Outstanding job dude 🤘🏼
Thanks Cam. Glad to get this resource out there for the C7 community 👍🏽
yea and i did it without lowering the subframe lol, polish guy did it first on yt, the method you used was not required, you move the oil cooler and you raise the engine and pull the driverside one out
Bravo, good for you 👏🏽
@@cmidas3396 not good for you... do it the proper way and show the proper way 👍
@Icepressa It was very good for me actually. The work is done 💪🏾
More than one way to skin a cat Keenbeen
Man, as usual, a crazy detail video! Gives a person without as much skill-sets more confidence
Thanks. With the massive rise of do it yourselfers I try to make my vids detailed and simple.
Brother, you’re the reason why I got me the same car 😂. Everything you post keeps teaching me! Best wishes from Edinburgh, Scotland.
Yeah they are nice luxury cars that can be made to go fast. Thanks for the best wishes brother👍🏽
Appreciate the videos from both you and @audic7owners , super valuable as a begin overhauling and upgrading my '16 A7 ... doing engine mounts, mercracing heat exchanger, pvc relocation (yikes!), test pipes, and dual pulley + APR ultracharger
Thanks. I almost got an A7 myself before I got the A6.
Much love brother. Wishing you the best for 2024. 🙏
Same to you brother and thanks for all the support 👍🏽
Great effort with all the camera work ; not easy to concentrate on both the video and the project ! Thank you.
Thanks 👍🏽 Yes it can be a challenge.
Nice video man. I recently purchased a 2018 Audi A6 3.0. First thing I did was change the motor mounts to the 034 street/track. Such a difference. Love your setup. That car takes a beating. I love mine can’t wait to go stage 1.
Thanks 👍🏽Yeah you're gonna love it. They are fun cars
Awesome man. I have an s6, but this video is helping guide me immensely. Keep it up.
Thanks.Glad it helps 👍🏽
Just had my engine and transmission mounts replaced in September but thx for the video
You're welcome. I'm gonna replace my trans mount soon.
Dude really nice work 👍🏽 clean video hard work . 👏🏽 Definitely
Thanks, I appreciate it 👍🏽
I really appreciate you. Happy Holidays
Thanks and Happy Holidays to you also
Great job! Just did this last weekend but just jacked up the engine using a long block of wood to distribute the weight, didn’t have to mess with the subframe at all except the one bolt that is in the way. That oil cooler is a PITA though until you figure out you need to move the engine up or subframe down to get to the engine mount bracket bolts and that rear bolt on the cooler.
I have an Ultracharger so the side of the body is already almost touching the firewall so I couldn't raise the motor that high enough to have clearance to get the driverside mount out without dropping the subframe or removing the oilcooler. Didn't know it could be done how you did it though. I would think the transmount might tear raising the motor that high though.
Nice job bro
Thanks, I appreciate it👍🏽
Your A6 looks so good bro
Thanks. I might change the front grille though
Is crazy those motor mounts are the same b8 version from older models
I guess same motor so they didn't change it.
@@cmidas3396 yes if I would off took more time I would just got b8 60A Solid Rubber OEM+ Engine Mount Kit - Audi B8 from ecs or fcp for half the price and know it be more durable and half the price
Merry Christmas
Thanks. Merry Christmas to you too.
I tried this job same way only got the passenger side mount out but somehow couldn't fit new one in. Didn't drop the subframe. Had to flat bed it to shop 😔
Sorry to hear that
Awesome video man 👍🏼!
I feel better about trying my mounts on my A7 🤞🏻
Did you need an alignment after lowering the sub frame?
Did you get the mounts done yet? It was the first thing I did on mine at 55k miles, street density mounts still doing well at 101k
this is when the fcp lifetime comes in handy with those launches 🤣
Yes sir. I got the mounts directly from 034 though.
Been waiting for a video like this. So if your motor mounts go bad will you get a lot of vibrations and buzzing in the cabin and steering wheel? Thanks for sharing!
Yeah I hadn't really seen to many specific to the A6. I'm probably gonna do the trans mount later.
If your mounts go bad you’ll know… the engine will literally clunk around jump up and down a whole inch when you hard accelerate / decelerate. You can “test” your mounts in park by watching the engine with the hood open while someone max revs it. You’ll see the motor literally jump lol . The trans mount will likely be bad by the same time, it’s not as obvious to identify, but many people complain of a clunk during certain gear shifts or delay when trying to hard accelerate . Midas has a video for the trans mount and the driveshaft carrier too
Did you calibrate the front camera?? Your front alignment is off now. Anytime you drop you subframe you need to check wheel alignment and if your rear toe is out specifications and you have front camera. You need to get it calibrated.
If your cars front camera not calibrated. It can swerve out of nowhere. I’m Audi technician
My car doesn't have the front camera. Thanks for the advice though. I do plan on doing the control arms soon.
Time for some test pipes my man. Those stock cars are gonna clog up soon at your power level. Otherwise your car is near perfect 👍🏼
Yeah it's had them for a while now.
Do you know what fog lights you can run on that bumper
No I don’t. Might have to go custom.
I’m pretty sure the fog lights are built in to the main headlight … same for rear fogs. I could be wrong…. But the “fog light” looking plastic at the front corners is your auto cruise control sensor
Just finished installing the new mounts but the retainer bolt (motor mount to engine) just keeps spinning. Driver side snugged up and torq to spec but not sure what to do about the passenger bolt. Probably just gonna send it as is lol
It should've snugged up if everything is aligned so double check that. Hopefully it's not stripped bit I think you would've felt it.
Same thing happened to me and I’m literally trying to figure out what the fuck went wrong. What happened with yours?
You mean the motor mounts? The rubber tore/separated.
@@cmidas3396 no when I was putting in the last bolt on the passenger side that goes through the mount into the motor. I think it went in crooked and cross threaded and now it’s spinning freely and won’t go in or out and it’s stuck there
@ValoBG28 It must have been misaligned. You can try lifting the motor slightly so there is tension on the bolt then try loosening it. The slight tension may let the bolt release while you loosen it.
I changed my oil cooler without moving the engine lol
Yeah I think it's possible. Difficult to get to the two top bolts though.
Yeah i used a extension and a swivel extension.
@@Noskillz_ Nice 👍🏽 Always a way to get it done 👌🏾
No video for the front bumper
No I didn't do one because of time constraints at the time but it installs like oem.
