Everything that you loved about the last-gen Maxima 08-2015 has been upgraded. The interiors available give the car a luxury feel: heated/cooled seats, available panoramic roof, fold down 40/60 split bench, navigation display with LCD driver's guage...
The transmission feels completely alien. Nissan tried to tune the car to feel like a traditional transmission but it really doesn't. The engine whirs like a blender, but never truly feels "powerful".
This is the best Maxima ever built, but it's still just a "new Maxima". It doesn't really change the game in its segment.
If you want RWD sport feel in a 4 door - and optional POWERFUL ENGINES, you need to go to DODGE and ask for a 2015 Charger. Similarly priced, the Charger still offers more than the Maxima.
VERY biased review. And your horsepower and MPG numbers in your description are wrong. Do your research before you do a so called review on a car. Not to mention comparing it to an Altima. And "Nissan doesn't have the balls to put in real power". 300hp is very sufficient for a FWD family sedan. And if you want the GT-R engine, prepare to pay $60,000 for a Maxima. Oh, and AWD won't work here because the current chassis is NOT built for AWD. Dude, I am not sure how people take you seriously. If you want to make a living doing car reviews, you need to do it with less bias and with information that is actually correct. Nice try though.
BMW started that thigh seat thing under the legs. Also, im surprised you didnt mention the quilted stiching on the seats. Very nice! Also that pillar give it a "floating roof" illusion just like the Murano. Very modern looking!!

The 2015 Charger is a better looking, more comfortable car with better features. If you'd rather have this PIECE OF SHIT CVT and FRONT SHIT WHEEL DRIVE...then maybe you should just buy a Toyota Camry.

The d pillar is supposed to give the appearance of a floating roof. I was looking one the other day. Yes, the design is something that isn't on evert lot. With this design, there is nothing in the road like the 2016 Nissan Maxima. I would agree that with the SR should have a different engine. That is suppose to be the true sports trim model. I think in time after a two years out. That specific model will get it as an option with a little customer feedback. Consumer voices usually wins. Especially when the completion gets caught up. Again, the design is unique,--but the engine and transmission will get a little long in the tooth. Nice review! Very informative.
I bought my wife a 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum she loves the car this car has so many features in it and too many to mention besides the handling and the power of the car it's awesome, I have nothing negative to say about it, and he's wrong about the horsepower, it comes with 300 horsepower, plus dual sunroof, plus the 360 cameras all the way around this car cameras in the rearview mirrors camera on the front camera on the back plus your rear window shade, witch is automatic, the car is a beautiful car, and you would be a fool not to buy one. you can find more options at a price if you're willing to spend anywhere from a thousand and three thousand for the same options then go ahead by right by smart but if you got the extra cash to throw around for a couple extra doodads then do it but if you want more Buck for your money then by the Nissan Maxima.
Damn, people have really become spoiled/picky. Like someone would really need the front flap part of the driver seat to be electric? Are you kidding me? It's called not being lazy. It's not like you will have to be adjusting it every single time you go drive the maxima. This guy really does not know about cars. Personally I actually think Hyundai vehicles look great! Such as the Veloster and Genesis Coupe, but I would much rather pick a reliable car (primarily referring to it's engine, cooling system, transmission, and other mechanical components) then to be choosing a car because it has slightly more interior features. Seems as if the more that car companies provide their consumers with innovative interior features, the more spoiled and picky that certain consumers tend to become, usually it seems to be the people who don't know much about cars and care more of what's the newest technological trend in cars.

The car next to it is an Altima . The styling isn't from the BMW it was designed and inspired by fighter jets. Otherwise pretty good review bud.

That was an Altima not an older Maxima you compared on the lot. Nice review but true Nissans owners would never even consider a Hyundai.

what features does Hyundai have over the maxima platinum for $5000 extra dollars? are those features that consumers use regularly or they're features just to say you have features? I prefer manual seats, those motorized seats are annoying to adjust and take too long. this car have everything you could possibly want in a car unless you want it to drive for you. we must learn to do things ourselves and leave some stuff to be desired or our world will become just like I robot

The problem with the maxima is their marketing. Granted, it's a decent family sedan...but it's most certainly not a "sport sedan" as they claim it to be. FWD, CVT automatic transmission and an approx. $40,000 MSRP doesn't indicate anything "sport sedan"-like about it. Other than that the interior looks good but that front end has too much going on and does look like a fish oddly enough.

David Topchiev I was replying to his(bigtruckseriesreview) @15:14 comment about the Germans refusing to give you touchscreen, and I was letting him know that the new gen,BMW7S, will come with It, personally i can live with out it! and as far as reliability with BMW's I agree with you, I heard some horror story's, I have a used 2011 BMW X5 50I Sports activity version, for about a year now with no issues, at this time, but I also have an extended warranty on it just in case!
I see what you are saying, but just about every auto maker had or will have there fair share of some type of issues, keep in mind that nothing is made 100% perfect, just try to enjoy life, don't stress out about every nook and cranny, buy what you like, or don't buy it at all, take care

That piece of shit dodge engine won't last 10 years good luck!! I got a 2000 maxima that drive better than any dodge and she got 250 miles. Granted the cvt ain't the best but in longevity this car will last longer and I guarantee it probably won't have half as many problems.

This car is extremely over priced and it's not worth getting it. In addition, the features should've up scaled up a bit. Anywho! I rather get a Mercedes C class for a couple more grand, which has better features too. It's because the piece of shit is FRONT WHEEL DRIVE and has a SHITTY CVT in it.
The CVT can't handle much more and the FWD system would have ridiculous torque steer with any more power.
