This week's song is One by Metallica. Released in 1988.
Lyrics:
I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me
Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there is not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me
Back to the world that's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live
Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me
Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh God, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, help me
Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell
Landmine has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell

Ezzie K This would be good for a reaction, One - 2 Girls, 1 Harp - Camille & Kennerly The Harp Twins. -- ua-cam.com/video/JhOhGhq0e54/v-deo.html
The drums are louder because they're looped and that lars's narcissistic traits
It's about a soldier who steps on a land mine
The story/movie is called Johnny Got His Gun, released in 1971. This is a great song with a lot behind it.
Listen to Mable's Fatal Fables by Jason Becker
The little girl is more eloquent than 90% of the reactors on UA-cam.
I don't know what that means. I asked my mum and she said it means I speak correctly???
If so, thank you 😊❤️🤟💛
@@EzzieK Haha...yes, you seem very smart and well-spoken for your age. Very precocious. You can ask your mum about that word too! :)
True that
💯
This is the most open minded young person I know you have a bright future
This is some dark material for a kid and lemme tell you, this girl is the most metal thing I've ever seen in my life.
Hammerhedd Live - Original Song ua-cam.com/video/vLiv_VmYjx8/v-deo.html
Yeah, I was hoping she didn't understand the video because this kind of stuff gives kids horrid nightmares...
War, death, amputation, suicidal thoughts and suffering is a lot for a child to mentally digest.
Well, thats it
To be totally honest this song is some dark stuff even for adults. To directly translate from my native tongue: this shit is some damned strong tobacco.
Welcome to reality..mfuckers!!
"He's the product of your profession, not mine"
Is one of the greatest lines ever written.
Yeah but what’s makes it great is it’s mix of emotions
Edit: Is one of the greatest and most terrible lines ever written.
***"Product"=Gavin Newsom---"Profession"=Nancy Pelosi***
Is it? Imagine being moralized to by the church... As if they're not responsible for their share of atrocities.
This kid is a music connoisseur.
Mom "You didn't want me turn it down" Ezzie "No!" Spoken like every metal head ever. Ezzie you are an adorable girl that reminds me of my 6 year old granddaughter. She bangs her head with her papa when I'm playing Metallica. Great reaction and you gained one more sub.
Thank you ha ha ha 😁😄😆
Your daughter showed you this! She's an old soul.
Metallica
One is based on the movie johnny got his gun. Your reaction is spot on.
Thank you Dave
@@EzzieK your welcome. I actually just watched the movie a few weeks ago. I found it on vudu for 3 dollars. It's an anti war film based on the novel of the same title. I thought it was good if you want to check it out.
It's based on the book IIRC. Although there are 2 songs which were influenced by films during that times (Welcome Home and AJFA).
Actually in an interview Lars said James was writing the song around the time of the Master Of Puppets album. Then someone they knew told them about this story and got them a copy of the film to watch. So it wasn't really based off the film or the book but they did buy the rights to the film and now it's free on UA-cam, I watched it a few weeks ago and ordered the book.
@@andjustjizzforall what interview where?
A lot of Metallica songs deal with desperation. Feeling trapped in a desperate situation. I think many teens can relate to this feeling, and it gives them a voice to express themselves. They can head-bang and sing loudly and get their emotions out! It has a healing effect.
Exactly, and this song is no exception
Particularly considering that it's about a WWI soldier who had lost his arms, legs, speech hearing and sight and yet is still alive and wished to be allowed to die rather than live in that condition
Definitely someone's definition of Hell if ever there was one
Words of wisdom
I've always thought of hard or heavy music as being very cathartic. Especially for those times when you aren't sure how to feel or cope or express. People who are very dismissive of music by genre usually don't understand the depth of emotional connection one can build with and through music.
@@statisticsshow "usually" but there are those who do get, and still dislike the art form. Take me for example. I love Metal, Rock, Country, Classical, Jazz, and the Blues.... but i just can't stand most Rap. It's not that i don't 'get' the lyrics or the depth of their meaning (for those few rap songs that actually **Have** depth) i just don't like the genre, it grates on my nerves.
I can easily see how Metal would grate on the nerves of others, even if they did 'get' it.
Ezzie K you are so very well spoken, and it is so great to see Metallica transcend yet another generation! You are so awesome and so are your parents! Keep Rocking!
Thank you 😊❤️ 🤟
This kid will do alright in life, already has a great taste in Music
And a great Mum. That's really something special.
as someone that served in the U.S ARMY for 14 years i really thank you for you and your moms reactions to the video as a soldier i can tell you that you do not have to be wounded because when you go into battle you will loose a part of you that you can never get back
Wow so many great comments. Esmé and I enjoy reading them all and she's super excited to nearly reach the 1k mark!!!
Thanks for your time for watching and listening x
You guys are awesome to watch
You're gonna grow up to be a great musician if u keep listening to music like this
This video broke my 11 year old mind when I first saw it. Still gives me small panic attacks thinking about being in that poor guy's situation, fictional or not, its pretty grim.
I really don’t think children should watch this
Its technically fictional because its not based on any one individual. But so many vets came back from Vietnam in this sort of state that its just more like speaking for a collective of people.
This is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.
Thanks 🤟
I second that, but not only the most adorable and cutest but also on the highest level! I was surprised at the quality of reaction, this one was superb. Ezzie is so damn adorable!!! Wish you the best and keep on delivering a lot of new reactions.
Edit: I neerly forgot to thank also the mom, great job with interpreting the song, spot on. Cheers to both of you.
Hello from America. You have great taste in music, enjoy.
Hello from England! Thank you 😊
I love how this adorable ray of sunshine is makin her mom react to songs about war & drugs 😂 aha. To be fair I didnt know what these songs meant when I was a just a jammin out to them as a youngin
yep I didnt too and english is not my mother tongue so I couldnt guess then I learnt english and look up for the lyrics and kind of scare the .... out of me. Even more when these thing could happen in the real world.
Ok boomer

Im 25, you get an E for effort though

There is hope for young people! This little girl has gave me hope. Thank you! You keep ROCKIN🤘
Thank you 😊
this is the kind of stuff that gives me hope on humanity.
This masterpiece gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, classic song.
I am absolutely amazed at the stoic , understanding that your daughter has !! Kudos TO Both OF YOU!; THE INTEGRITY that shows thru you both is a credit to the intelligent upbringing you have bestowed! She shows more character than 90 percent of the adults on UA-cam....... Absolutely incredible! Subscribed for life!!
Things like this give me hope for the young generation.
Hammerhedd Live - Original Song ua-cam.com/video/vLiv_VmYjx8/v-deo.html
i was listening to Pantera albums this morning and saw this on recommends. My 8 year old son wont listen and appreciate this kinda stuff (he likes dubstep). im jealous that her daughter gets it
Kwad Damage that was me when I was 12 (now 16). Then I heard Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce which the catchy vocals of that song were a gateway for me which got me hooked on DragonForce. I went out and bought Guitar Hero 3 just for TTFAF and because of that I heard One and it blew me away with how complex it was and I really started getting into guitar and the instrumental side of music because Metallica and since then I’ve been mainly been into metal and have explored quite a bit of bands (including Pantera of course) and I get now that metal is the superior genre of music haha.
@@givenspade I'm older now. Mid 30s. As far as newer metal bands I'm usually into the psychedelic/stoner/doom metal stuff. You should check out the new Elder album that came out a couple of days ago. Older bands I still listen to a lot are like weedeater, buzzoven, the melvins, butthole surfers, kyuss
that was me at 13 (now 16) but then i heard master of puppets and was hooked
My Son doesn’t have a Choice of what I listen to in my Truck. So he gets a taste of different kind of rock music.
Parenting done right! Rock on! 🎸
One of the best songs of all time period
This is awesome. I'm 28 my parents are in their 40s and i remember hearing nothing but Metallica, Megadeth etc.. when i was a little bit younger than her. Its nice to see young kids getting into Metal in this newer generation.
Thanks 😊👌🤟
It is not only awesome but gives me HOPE to see the younger generation like, enjoy, respect, and dig the awesomeness that is.......... METALLICA.
She is so Adorable, blows my Mind Girl cant be older than 6 or 7 and not only has a love for old Metal from 80's but Has Mental Fortitude to understand what is song is about, Truly impressive. Mum Raised a Bright Young Girl
Thank you ☺️🙏
I like how the litlle girl was so focused...thats one of the great things about beeing a kid, you live 100% in the moment....love the mum
welcome our Metal world mum :) Imagine over 100 000 metal fans headbanging and singing along to this song
Great reaction ladies. Thank you
Hi everyone! .
I have been reading all of the comments and I try to keep up to answer them all but it is getting hard now there's soooooo many. I love this and I wanted to thank everyone for commenting and joining me on my channel.
My mum helps me with my comments and they take a long time.
I have read some comments about the sound on my videos but I don't have the equipment to make it sound better, sorry.
I can't keep up with requests but I do remember lots of them.
I will do less effects and try to make it sound better.
I really like learning about the life of the bands and the whys from everyone. I like how people have different views on songs and many ways of explaining what the song is about.
My mum will be going back to work very soon when we are allowed out so I will have to change to doing my videos somewhere else in the house as that's my mum's office.
My channel is not monetized so I am going to start a Patreon page to try and get some support so I can buy a microphone, camera and so I can pay for my editing apps. My videos are clipped and I'm sorry but I make a lot of mistakes.
If you want to support in any way and want to see my extra stuff and the benefits of becoming a Patreon, please visit my site here:
www.patreon.com/ezziek
I will also be doing some video hangouts, Patreon chats and I can also manage your votes and requests through there. I'm very excited and asked my mum if I can have fans join me somehow on special reaction videos of their choices. As soon as I have learned how to do it I will I hope.

Instagram page coming soon too :)
Thanks mum for helping me and dad too for nagging you to help me x
I love this!

Ezzie, I appreciate you and your taste in music. Keep rocking, kid.
Mom, thanks for sowing the seed that is your kid's taste in music. You deserve a lot of praise.
This channel is wholesome and amazing and I love it. You've got a new subscriber.
That’s some good parenting on display. A good mind is an open mind, name one thing that opens a mind more effectively than music. Rock on!!!
Awesome video. Cute girl with a charming smile, infectious laugh and a great big Metal heart! (Not to mention a supportive mum) Subscribed to see more from you two. Keep rocking and 🤘Horns high!!!!🤘
You're in safe hands in the metal family, it's wonderful to see, big smile on my face, kudos to you both, keep up the awesome reviews, I'll be watching for sure, god bless you.
Please, please, please do "Master of Puppets" live in Seattle, 1989. It will blow your mind.

Another great reaction Ladies!!! You 2 were totally entranced by the video playing with the song. WOW! I bet that's how I looked the first time I saw it in 1988!!!! ROCK ON!!! Peace to you both and STAY SAFE!!!!

You two are adorable. Thank you for this reaction. The song is quite deep and intense.
Ahhh Memories, first song I learned all the way thru when I was 16 in 1991
Young lady u have a great taste in music well done i am Happy to no that there young people who still like real metal. keep up the great work
Great job with your reaction ladies. It is a great song from a great albumn.the only sad part is most people who see this video feel distracted by the movie in the background. It helps as a reference to the meaning of the song.. I hope you explore other bands also. Nightwish is an amazing band with an awesome Lady vocalist. Pantera might be a good one for you also.motorhead, Iron Maiden, there are so many. Have a great day.
Thank you Russell ❤️
Always loved the way Lars had a bass drums set up that solid thump gets me everytime, also these 2are adorable in a heavy way
wow. so great to see you both cover this song.
Love this!
Greetings from the across the pond. Stumbled across the vid and you both brightened my day. Loved the reaction and the future little metal head 🤘. Made me smile. Liked and subbed

One of the best clips to watch with kids.
Blessed are wise parents, who treat their kids as people, not as pets.
Yessss you guys reacted to it! Thank you!!!!
Loved it! 🤪
Keep up the great reactions, I love seeing them
Thank you! Will do!
"The guitar was really nice"..." I really liked the drums" She didnt mention the bass at all
Because lars had the bass turned way down like a dumbass
Well, what bass, amirite
And Justice for Jason!
I actually mastered the ajfa album bass parts in one day on my first try. All I had to do was unplug my bass
I got your sarcasm, even if these others did not.
Awesome video! Keep it up and good luck to you all. Greetings from Sweden
Thanks Uno ♥️
Its so great to see a little one gravitate towards real non autotuned, non computerized music. Secondly whatever sound system you guys have it on sounds great.
Thank you 😊

Gorgeous mom, and a very eloquent and very mature girl! I can only applaud on that!
Ezzie you are going to get one-hundred thousand subscribers not just one thousand you little cutie you! Wish I could give you a big hug and a kiss! XO
I greatly recommend anyone to watch this film "Johnny Got His Gun" I also recommend reading the book but Dalton Trumbo, the guy that wrote the book, also directed the film. Great anti-war peace of art.
Smart and lovely child.
Please stay that way.
You 2 look just alike haha. Smart girl and good taste in music!
Thank you 😊
Fist time I listened to this song felt the same as you both: it gets you inside of the story. Specially with the drums, just the parts Lars kick it like a machine gun
Yes X thank you 😊❤️
I really like how the mum explain the songs, this one and Fade to black, for the girl.. (light versions of explains.. Very good)
