  • Aug.30 -- Tropical Storm Ida pummeled New Orleans and the Louisiana coast overnight with lashing rain and ferocious gusts, leaving much of the region without electricity and bracing for widespread floods. The storm is still moving and Bloomberg Meteorologist Rob Carolan is tracking it. He's on "Bloomberg Surveillance."

    The climate change denying has not been challenged by the journalist. Do your job.
    The wind speeds have not been changed in the 90's. What was changed is the pre -90 the measurements of wind speeds where not as common, and instead the pressure was the classifying factor. It's a misrepresentation that's easy to challenge, but the journalist chose not to chalange it.

    Louisiana, get it through your thick skulls, Louisiana is a hurricane state. Remember Katrina? I'm from Miami, we have adapted to hurricanes and so should Louisiana. Burry power lines, put up shutters, build better drains, build stronger homes. My home is designed for hurricanes, i live in homestead, where hurricane Andrew taught us a real lesson

    • @nathand7167
      @nathand7167 3 роки тому

      I mean, yeah, but good lord what a thoughtless comment you've made. Of course Louisiana knows how to prepare for hurricanes. New Orleans existed before Miami was even a thought in anyone's mind. There are many factors - financial, geographical, and political, why some of the improvements you mentioned haven't been done or even considered. There is also state of the art infrastructure in Louisiana to combat extreme weather that quite frankly are modern wonders. Adapting to hurricanes is more complicated than getting it through our "thick skulls".
      I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are frustrated that Louisiana could do more to prepare. I agree and we should do it. But it's not because we have no idea how to deal with hurricanes.

      @jandenul1193 3 роки тому +1

      He was expecting a honest answer. The meaning of course was that it seems we're facing more and more extreme weather events. And it's true. Industrial activity warms the atmosphere through greenhouse effect. A warmer atmosphere increases the temperature gradient between the ground and the sky, which in turn makes for more extreme weather. It also increases the ability of air to withhold water. When water falls, it falls in greater quantities.

    So we were told even building the levy's costing a lot with a major storm it might not hold so we had that storm and again the same thing so we would spend a lot of money again and the again and again is this worth it for what I understand the history bs but back then the forefathers didnt know anything regarding what mother nature can do . There open land not far why not rebuild there instead of wasting our time and money on this area just for pride and history. We rather sacrifice lives and money for this .

    "But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for the murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idotlaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfer, which is the second death." Revelation 21:8
    For all those who live in sin will be put into the lake of fire for all eternal, but for all those who live life for Christ in love shall not perish but have eternal life.
    God sent his one and only beloved to come and take the punishment for our iniquity and to save the sin of the world so that no one have to end up in hell.

    I am wondering why the US Flag was left out in the hurricane? Lots of cameras feeding live in the quarter, yet no windows, doors are boarded and protected. Umbrellas still on outside tables and signs still hanging. Why not protect you building and your neighbors by removing things that could become torpedoes. Honor the American flag by taking it inside.
