In one of the Constantine novels, John acknowledges the existence of the Keanu version of himself and gets a chuckle out of it. He's aware of different realities as shown in the latest CW crossover event where they go to Earth 666 and meet television Lucifer.

@@TheRealSlobo Outside of Reeves-Constantine’s attempted suicide? Would be difficult since Ryan’s version has already explored the Newcastle incident multiple times.
I think part of the reason why Peter stormare works so well as lucifer is precisely BECAUSE he's in it so briefly. Throughout the film, we hear from various people about how john is the ONLY soul he'd come up for, that he's in a way above it all, and that truly, he DOES rival god. So when we see him come on screen and just totally dominate with his presence, you can really feel how powerless john, Gabriel, his son, etc, would be. the scene alone where he just.... disintegrates a door in the most badass way possible, because *who likes doors* right? or you know, effortlessly curing someone of cancer, which no other mortal or supernatural magic or science could've cured. And he does it out of SPITE. Not to mention, he IS the light bringer, you can really tell because he's one of the FEW supernatural creatures in the film wearing white, and if I recall correctly only angels wear that. A nice little reminder of what he still is. ugh, I could keep gushing but I wont. he's just so well written and cast for the role they had in mind. Love it.

This was a very good review. When a video has you rewinding certain parts to hear it again because it was so good, you know it's a good video.
Want to drive yourself crazy? Watch the diner scene and wait for Keanu to take a bite of his god damn eggs
Dinner scene? Is that after the trip through hell?
I’m a big fan of the comics. The movie is a departure from the comic. I still love it.
You know what! I knew someday you would review this movie and was waiting for it! ✌🏻And yeah! Beard looks really cool!
Love your Altered Beast intro, brings back memories when i got my Megadrive/Genesis back in 89 :)
They definitely need a sequel to this movie!!
Nah not even a direct sequel - - It should be an anthology - Different story every movie
Would be kind of weird now. Keanu’s expressed interest but the TV Constantine is already beloved and incredibly faithful to his comic self. Which this movie- let’s face it- didn’t do.
or prequel
@@TheRealSlobo Outside of Reeves-Constantine’s attempted suicide? Would be difficult since Ryan’s version has already explored the Newcastle incident multiple times.
@@benwasserman8223 the period between death of Constantine and showing up in the word is enough time frame for prequel
One of the most interesting characters in the DC Universe. Keanu didnt fully fit the character but he made his own version which was great
I think part of the reason why Peter stormare works so well as lucifer is precisely BECAUSE he's in it so briefly. Love it.
One of my favorite comic book films of all time! I absolutely love this film and wish it got a sequel. I actually prefer Keanu Reeves more as Constantine than Matt Ryan as Constantine. Also, Peter Stormare always nails his characters down! He is one of the most underrated actors of all time.
I've loved this movie forever, trying to show it to as many people as possible. Definitly not a Guilty pleasure for me ! Glad you got to it 🙂 Also this one has my favorite Lucifer ever.
This movie was great. Very cynical, gritty, but knew exactly what it was doing and nailed it without going too far
Highly agree. Not overly dramatic. The more cynical comedic devil performance was excellent and kept with the tone or vibe.
This and Devil’s Advocate are two of my favorite Reeves movies. I just adore Pacino going FULL Pacino! It was such a fun experience to have seen in the theater.
You nailed it with this one. I am really glad you decided to review it; definitely a guilty pleasure.
Wait another Keanu movie where there’s a neutral ground location where all of the good and bad guys are only allowed to hang out?
When someone tells me they like Horror movies, Dog Soldiers is my favorite movie to introduce them to.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how similar Jeremy looks to keanu's picture damm son
One of my all time favorites. So underrated.
I love this movie, and back in the day, I knew a lot of the lines, it is really quotable.
I don't think it's a bad movie. It's a TERRIBLE Hellblazer movie, but a good movie on it's own.
I loved this movie as a kid, I still enjoy it today, and it was kinda cool to realise later on that it was actually based on a comic book. Also Stormare is just great on anything, but his satan was just so much fun.
I like the Altered Beast "animation" at the beginning of the video. Quality vid as always.
Little did he know, nearly two years later
Constantine 2 gets announced
