I love Headcorn. A very special place. Nice film, thank you.
BTW, the bi planes are pronounced 'Stomp' despite the spelling. They are Belgian and wonderful machines.
I would strongly recommend visiting the Battle of Britain Air Shows....fantastic events and some wonderful displays, often including very rare aircraft as well as the Red Arrows and other military offerings.

Stomp! Thanks for the heads up. I should have researched it better 😉 I've done the BOB and Combined Ops shows. There's always such a buzz going on. It keeps the little aerodrome alive!

Thanks for getting back. Yes, so important to support our fast diminishing and dwindling smaller airfields. Headcorn is an important link in a chain in the South East and has so much going on throughout the year. Having Aero Legends flying from there is magic and does a huge amount to help the footfall. Happy travels.

I was waiting to see you do the wing walking thing. No, not really (and neither would I). It's nice to have you back again!

Ha there's no chance of that happening. Life is too precious to risk standing on a biplane wing 🤣

😂 You bet. It'd be just my luck for the chute to fail. I wouldn't even get the chance to succeed once!

Great place always visiting, Great museum close to the spitfires in car park couple of quid well worth a visit if like me you love second world war aircraft. My son practically lives there involved in the museum and can obtain information on where you can find second world war aircraft parts for your self

That sounds interesting - I’ve always wondered if there might be any old crash sites still to be discovered.

I had my first flying lesson on a DH82a Tiger Moth (G-ASKP) here (31 August 1996) & the Pilot instructor.... legendary "Flightline" (Discovery channel) was Brendan O'Brien - I was blown away so to speak he was so nice, friendly & fun definatly made one of my best days of my life in flying. than kyou Brendan! Anyone know if Brendan is still flying?

Amazing. Do you still fly? I’m not sure I’d personally be confident to take to the skies 🤣

Fantastic experience, yep Brendan is a top guy, taught me to fly 10years ago. He's still flying most days and still performing at airshows.

Great .... what a nice way to spend some time! I think you touched on this a bit but the original Spitfire where single seat weren't they... but I read few were modified but are pretty rare as the one shown here!

Yes mostly if not all were single seater fighters. I'm not aware of any being two seater during the second world war, and the modifications where probably made for the benefit of leisure flights. I might be wrong and I'm happy to be corrected 😊

@Tudor_Travels As per Wikipedia... apparently only one was ever constructed officially for training purposes but none were ordered...most of two seater variants about ten were built in the post war era for the Indian ,Irish,Netherlands and Egyptian air forces! So one must wonder which one is this!... hum?

This Spitfire, Elizabeth was originally a single seat fighter but received the conversion after the war.

Just to let you know ,the USAAF was the United States Army Air Force, not the United States of America Air Force as described by Yourself. The United States Air Force (USAF) came into being in 1947 !

Ah that’s good to know. I’ll try and remember that for future reference 👍
