@@laschenko1 I recommend in the alternative gear section, it is completely viable to use it :) I just prefer the consistency of Rhapsody since our crit range is already quite low without it
For those that aren't above using bugged items to get more sorcery points, make sure to get the spell savant amulet in the counting house. Grants a 2nd level spell slot and works the same as the shield, making the technique twice as fast.
Quick note on the portent rope, that you get from Alfira, I think there is a video on yt that explains it in more detail, but if you are durge and you go to the grove the first time knock alfira out and then go to the blighted village, where the goblin are hiding (you wont get durge cut scene if you didnt reach the blighted village), I would reckommend that you immediatly end the day and hopefully get the durge cut scene and Quill appears instead of Alfira. Depending on what you do on the day you can get different cut scenes during night, so keep that in mind (for example if your characters are low health you likely get the laezel try to kill you scene). Also if you are on honor mode try to knock Alfira quickly out, she will shout for help and vendor will come to help her. You can talk your way out of it, but if you repeat that a lot of times -> knock Alfira out go to sleep, didn't get cutscene-> do it again he will agro you at somepoint and you have to kill him
I would like to propose another way to split the levels...The Wendy's Sorlock 4/4/4. 4 sorcerer, 4 warlock, 4 rogue/fighter. This allows us to get 3 feats, utilize the Shield of Devotion for infinite sorcery points (you really only need a maximum of 50 per day, but if you wanna do it per encounter, aim for around 20-25 to ensure you have enough (if solo aim for around 30, if doing the Creche without a rest between sections, you'll need about 50). The reason for wanting 3 feats is because we want an ASI, Spell Sniper, AND dual wielder. Why Dual Wielder, you might ask, simple, Markoheshkir/Spellsparkler in our main hand and Bloodthirst/Rhapsody in our offhand. In the case of Bloodthirst, we end up with the same AC as having a shield as we gain 1 from Dual Wielder and 1 from having Bloodthirst in our offhand, and 1 from defense fighting style if one of our classes is champion fighter instead of thief rogue, but we also lower our crit threshold via Bloodthirst as well. This means we lower the crit threshold via Spellsniper, Bloodthirst, Deadshot, Sarevok's Horned Helmet (if you have medium armor proficiency, and are comfortable with very low AC), elixir, and, potentially, champion fighter means we crit on a 14, Risky Ring gives us advantage, meaning every beam has STAGGERING 51% crit chance, 43.75% without Sarevok's Horned Helm, 57.75% if we have Sarevok's Horned Helm and forgo Markoheshkir/Spellsparkler for Knife of the Undermountain King. All this to say, we trigger Mortal Reminder an average of ~1.5 times PER EB CAST, and we only really give up 3rd+ level spells, which mean nothing for this build really.
I've seen the 4/4/4 on Reddit. Absolutely a viable alternative, a really unique one too. Love dual wielding staves, do it all the time on my Tempest/Evocation builds :)
This is an incredibly strong build and a great video again. I also watched the two other build guides of yours for the Gloomstalker Assassin and the Bardadin. I like how detailed and structured your videos are. It is obvious that you are someone who knows what he is talking about. You definitely deserve more subscriptions. Definitely a subscription and a like from me. Great job. Thanks for that!!!
Your time is here good sir! Keep these coming! I'd honestly watch almost any classic character archetype for your breakdowns alone. Especially your act to act items with back ups. Shits gold my guy.
as a newcomer to dnd/bg3 this video is godsent, ive seen plenty of sorlock videos because ive been interested in the build and this is BY FAR the best put together video, u also really well accommodate for the new player with exact locations and detailed explanations. I was NOT expecting this quality from a thousand subscribers, thank you!
There is an another Sorlock video (can't recall specifically) which has garnered over 1.1 million views. Imho, this video surpasses it in every aspect. It should have at least 10-15x modifiers for views. The content was easy to understand even for a noob like me who is in his first week of trying to understand DnD/BG3 mechanics. Really appreciate the in depth explanations. Thank you 🙏
Hey, me again. So I’ve done this build with a slight difference, I took no levels in Rogue, went for 6 sorc, 2 warlock and 4 fighter. That way I still have access to 2 feats. With haste, bloodlust elixir and infinite sorcery points, 3 rogue levels feels like a waste, you really don’t need that much EB’s in act 3.
Perfectly viable alternative, actually quite a popular one too. I'd agree that you can probably do enough damage to forego the necessity of rogue, granted you're playing with a full party
The Alfira cutscene will be queued to trigger upon the first rest, unless you progress certain parts of the game such as meeting Karlach, which have long rest cutscenes that are given priority. A safe bet is to knock her out everyday and use multiple partial rests to get through all scripted camp scenes. Sometimes Arron the vendor will magically teleport to witness your assault, so make sure and utilize turn based mode to one turn her.
I played a Paladin 6/ Sorcerer 6 and would basically do the opposite of this build- to convert sorcerey points into spell slots for more smites. I Found i could use the illithid power freecast to make Sorc points, and not use a spell slot in the process. With the paladin i would then turn those free points into spell slots, but with this build it would give even more quicken spells
That actually works? It's not that impactful on this build since we barely get any spell slots but it does mean an additional (free) 3 sorcery points per long rest with Freecast. Good to know!
I was using freecast with a 5th lvl spell slot, soo 5 free sorc points. This was aboit 8 months ago, i forget what patch #. I also found freecast was bugged, and could be triggered multiple times per rest.
First time watching, literally was EXACTLY what I was looking for in terms of build explanation, meta gamey stuff, and itemization. Like and follow earned just from that. (though I think it is worth considering wild magic sorc for advantage on demand since you basically NEVER cast actual leveled spells to suffer from wild magic)
Dude, I had so much fun watching the whole video. (Over 2 thousand hours in this wretched game, at this point I watch build videos only to see if I learn something new from caster classes since I don't usually play a caster at games/TTRPGs) But as I was saying, yeah, I had so much fun watching, from the "dragon born for absolutely nothing" to "fuck finding all Dribles body parts". A nice mix of very good information + some comic relief to make the experience fun enough to keep if easy to digest and not enough to turn it into a clown show. I learn a couple of things from your video today and I plan to put something like this in action for my next playthrough. Thanks!
@@searching4god Your videos show actual gameplay throughout all the game (thank fuck!), pointing the gear that will sinergize with the build and offering alternatives in case there is a party member using that gear piece/you got locked out of the gear due to an outcome. It's not just the level up screen for 20 minutes with some commentary about gear that you'll find only at act 3 at the end. This always bothered me. Like, that's cool and all, but what am I suppose to do with my first 70 hours on my journey? I guess Shovel will solo the game for me til I get the gear in act 3. Right now I am running a Luminous Cleric/Paladin, Gloom Stalker/Assassin, Open Hand Monk, and your Sorcerer/Warlock with some alterations... Never used sorcerer nor warlock, as well as the Gloom Stalker (Yeah, believe it or not. If I run something like this, I usually just run a fighter with special arrows) and it's... I mean, it's my fault for running those, but it got too easy. I might respec to run something else lol. Anyway, hope you are having a nice day!
once more insane job! can't wait to try this out in honor mode along with gloomstalker ^^ i find it funny how bg3 is so much different than the tabletop dnd, irl I would be bored out of my mind spamming EB for hours at a time but bg3 manages to make it genuinely fun!
Thank you so much! And so true, the prospect of using one ability for 60+ hours seems boring but honestly I come to appreciate its simplicity compared to the choice fatigue I usually have with other builds!
Thanks Bro! Lobe yhis build. Actually using it for my silo run. Decided to go the Lock 2 Sorc 4 Rogue 3 Fighter 3 route. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again!
Big thanks for the super chat bro! I also used that same route as I tend to long rest often and since you can produce infinite spell slots anyway. Let me know how it goes, thanks again!
I think it’s Agathys like Agatha, great vid I build my bardlock very similar to this only eldritch blast is like a sidearm that you replace bows with when you need multiple hit damage w/o resource depletion. Sorcerer is a solid multiclass option for Charisma as always you earned a sub from me a while ago!
if you had freecast on your hotbar you would probably know that the trait is bugged and refreshes everytime you unequip and equip a piece of gear. and, that it works with the spell to convert spell slots into sorcery slots. So you can get infinite sorcery slots without spending your spell slots. plus what you said about no other uses for spell slots is not entirely true. If you got shield, you should probably be using your spell slots into it, and that uses a spell slot. other stuff like twinned haste, mirror image, misty step, are also stuff that you situationally need or want to cast either before the fight start or during it, and unless you have a infinite supply of scrolls, they will also use spell slots.
Fun but less optimal craterflesh gloves version of this build: Hex, lightning charges, callous glow ring and phalar aluve from another character and you can shoot up to 36 rainbows of damage per round (only missing fire damage for orange tho)
The flavour of starting was a fiend warlock and swapping to great old one is very funny. Like, “yea imma make a deal with the devil, the powers are cool” and then later on you just decide “yea nah, these weird mind Flayer guys and this absolute stuff is kinda cool, sorry Raphael/whatever fiend you’ve made your pact with, imma side with these guys”
Lol your vids are to good! Im having a hell of a time trying to decide how to distribute equipment so i can use all three of your builds in one playthrough lol
I struggle with the same issue don't worry :) I would recommend the Risky Ring on the Sorlock, the Bhaalist Armor on the Bardadin, from there the rest of the equipment should be easy to allocate
But, but, but... I need potent robe on my gish swords bard thief to cast Vicious Mockeries with Ring of the Mystic Scoundrel and all kinds of Psychic Resonator shenanigans :D Jokes aside, very well done build video of a true classic. I haven't played it since they changed the lightning charge interaction, maybe will give it another whirl sometime soon.
This is extra exploit-y, but if you're doing the Shield of Devotion trick for a million sorcery points anyway, you really only need 3 levels in sorc. Leaving you able to take the powerful levels of warlock for those niche situations that you dont want to eldritch blast. Or some other multiclass levels to really get insane
With this and your other 2 Best Builds guides, you have the risky ring for all of them. Which one do you think would benefit most from it, if I were to run a party with all of them?
I've definitely considered that when making them, it's tough because literally every build wants the risky ring, it's almost entirely the reason I include the "gear alternative section"! It's super tough but it goes in this order: 1) the character that has the Hag's Hair and therefore the most "investment" into 2) probably the Sorlock. The Gloomstalker has advantage on all attacks on the first turn, the Bardadin has 27 Strength w/ Elixir and 95% to hit consistently, whereas the Sorlock never really gets to a point where it's guaranteed to hit and Eldritch Blast has 3 attack rolls (per cast) as opposed to the 1 roll of the other builds.
Hey! Absolutely love the video and will definitely be following this on my third playthrough for sure (gonna have so much fun abusing enemies with eldritch blast) I had a really peculiar question to ask. I'm playing with mods on the game (10/10) and I'm playing with mods to remove the level limit, allowing me to hit level 20 and gives me an additional 8 levels to work with. I know this is a big ask, but is there any chance you could come up with the remaining level spreads, or at least see what you think of mine? I'm not that knowledgable when it comes to this kind of stuff, so just looking to see what your thoughts are on it. My current idea is to do something like 2 Warlock/3 Fighter/4 Rogue/6 Sorcerer (15 levels) and take all of the benefits of the things you've mentioned thus far, and I was considering (for level 15+) to do either 4 Warlock/4 Fighter/4 Rogue/8 Sorcerer (20 levels) however i'm not sure if this is a good idea, or if i should just do something like 2 Warlock/4 Fighter/4 Rogue/10 Sorcerer or 2 Warlock/6 Fighter/4 Rogue/ 8 Sorcerer. I'm not sure if the additional feats are worth not getting additional sorcery points/spell slots with sorcerer, so please share your thoughts if you're willing! finally, thanks a bunch regardless and this is a great video all around, loved it from start to finish p.s. i know that this will be incredibly broken at level 20 but let me have my fun haha
No worries at all, and I'm all for modding, have your fun :) I actually think your instinct is correct, this build wouldn't benefit THAT much from further investing into it's respective subclasses so just rounding out some of the levels for feats and finishing with Sorcerer for Sorcery Points makes a lot of sense to me. I suppose if I were to deviate from your spread, it would be to include at least 5 levels of Warlock for the inclusion of Hunger of Hadar and the Devil's Sight Eldritch Incantation - that way you create a domain of darkness that you can both shoot into and shoot enemies back into. 4 Warlock/4 Fighter/4 Rogue/8 Sorcerer - I think this is a great base, so based on what I said about Hunger of Hadar (and the fact that you can technically have infinite sorcery points with the Shield exploit), I would ultimately suggest: 5 Warlock/4 Fighter (Champion)/4 Rogue/7 Sorcerer. You lose out on some feats but 4 is enough and worth the exchange.
@@searching4god awesome! i hadn't thought of the additional level in warlock for hunger of hadar, that's definitely worth going for. There are some other items and stuff introduced through mods that include ways to get my charisma up to 22 from 18 so the feats won't be so much of an issue, and i'm definitely looking forward to getting my crit range as low as possible haha. Thanks again for your help! great videos man and keep it up
In my dark urge playthrough I kill alfira without knowing this gonna happen So I miss this Cha rope 😢. So I use Luminus Armour Instead. And It make quite a good replacements for Heavy stack of radiant orb.
Man I know the pain, and Larian teasing me with the dialogue option to ask Withers to revive her I thought it would work 😭 Not a bad replacement all things considered!
27:07 would ability drain work here? It will be targeting charisma which isn't great but it counts as influcting a condition for items that care about that. Furthermore, i noticed with my swords bard that slashing flourish activated it twice, presumably because of that split target thingy... that it shares with eldritch blast :)
You’re spot on about inflicting a condition and that it triggers twice (like the Bard)! But you’re also spot on in draining Charisma being garbino 😭 Still probably worth it!
Awesome vidoes, working on a group with all 3 of these and a Light cleric.. All Elf/Drow group for sleep etc.. Think Drow Half-Elf Sorlock main was a good pick for more darkness, 1.5 movement on my caster didn't seem as good.. Did I make a mistake?
No not really, you'd be right in your assessment of the movement speed being inconsequential on a caster. I only choose Wood Half - Elf for shield proficiency
Great and very helpful video! I had a question though. I messed up with my race and picked wood elf instead of half-elf and do not have a shield proficiency. Since I have played 8 hours already I don't want to restart. What are your suggestions for having a better Armour Class in the game without using a shield? Thank you :D
If you are not wearing armor then casting Mage Armor on yourself is always a good shout, along with the Bracers of Defense from the Blighted Village - otherwise temporary buffs like Mirror Image and Haste can also stack your defenses, at least for the duration of the combat. It is not too much of a problem and you could always introduce a level of a class that has shield proficiency (i.e. Fighter) or take an "armored" feat to remedy the problem.
You'll have more spell slots per long rest but less quickened spells per turn - the addition of the rogue bonus action is to use more metamagic in combat, even at the cost of less spell slots per rest
I almost wish risky ring did not exist because which ever character gets it just grossly outperforms the rest of the party and its even more powerful in no rest playthroughs where its harder to get advantage on attacks. I find myself asking if this build actually doing well or is it just because of risky ring 🤔
I agree that Risky Ring is extremely powerful but there are a ton of natural ways to get advantage/high hit chance such that Risky Ring isn't necessarily "build defining", it just makes your job easier. Factors like high ground, threatened, bless, +1 spell attack roll gear pieces, Mirror of Loss +CHA, Act 2 Shar Shrine +CHA - these are all ways to increase your hit chance to what is virtually guaranteed to hit. There are so many other ways of getting advantage too, whether gear pieces or status conditions (prone etc.), really the only thing the Risky Ring does is mitigate your critical misses, otherwise even without advantage you shouldn't have below a 70-80% hit chance.
@@searching4god Totally forgot about the shar buff! My swords bard is so charisma greedy and this is my first time playing warloc and I forgot it has much more benefit for a EB warlock. Ooops Getting consistent advantage without expending spell slots/resources is much tougher than hit chance - I don't recall any gear piece that would let a warlock get it reliably and you can't always activate prone and then stand within 3 meters to get advantage. The other thing advantage does besides mitigate critical misses is greatly increases your crit chance which is the reason why the risky ring user just crits way more even with the same crit range. A character with advantage and 3 reduced crit threshold has a 36% chance to crit where as a characer with 3 reduced crit threshold and no advantage is 20%, you'd need 6 reduced crit threshold without advantage to have 35% crit chance so advantage is effectively 3 additional reduced crit threshold when you have 3 already, absolutely bonkers. I'm in A2 now I've defaulted to giving the risky ring to a boring but solid Astarion gloomstalker mostly because arrows of many targets is brokenly strong. Something else that I've noticed is that the crit threshold helms are anoyingly all light armors or medium armors which will tank your armour class while wearing potent robes + mage armour.
Most all of it is modded but I can share the mods necessary to copy the look exactly (all from Nexusmods): - The face model is from Vemperen's Other Heads - The eyes are from The Eyes of the Beholder (Aberration Preset) - The hair is from Vesnelle's Hair Collection (pack 2) If you face any issues feel free to dm me I'll help however I can :)
for the extra bonus action. quickened spell lets you cast a spell as a bonus action, so its an extra eldritch blast every turn as long as you have sorcery points. So its functionally like having action surge every turn, instead of once per short rest, which is why its taken as a higher priority than fighter
Great question, I can think of so many combinations. The main principle(s) I follow are a) little to no competition for gear b) interconnected synergy. Something like: 1. Bardadin / Sorcadin (Face Character) 2. Gloomstalker Assassin (optimal with Bardadin wearing the Bhaalist Armor) 3. Open Hand Monk (Amazing single target, great resource management, ZERO gear competition) 4. Tempest Wizard (Phenomenal AoE, little to no gear competition, high Int for Int checks) This is an example of a team comp that diversifies both their roles and their BiS gear pieces. Granted it is also a super aggressive team comp, which is the way I play. You can easily swap out the Monk or Wizard for a 12 Light/Life Cleric for more CC, healing and party buffs.
@searching4god thank you for the thorough response. I'm planning on incorporating your builds on my next honor run so I'll definitely be using at least two of your builds from your channel! Any insight on how throwzerker does in place of OH monk? I'm guessing more prone and dpr but less cc due to no stun?
@@WMason92 Tough question because both are actually super similar: both use tavern brawler, both barely need any gear and both come online SUPER quickly. Like you said, Monk is great for proning which is super helpful if you have a melee party whereas Throwzerker is essentially a "ranged" character and also benefits from fall damage - they both have low AC so Throwzerker is probably a little better early game but Monk pulls way ahead in the late game with better gear, DPR, and the interaction between the resonance stone and the Psychic damage passive. (A side note that I believe there are more enemies which are resistant to the Throwzerker's piercing damage than the Monk's bludgeoning).
great build and overall video! but i also wanted to ask what dye you used for the potent robe, is it modded? i cant seem to find anything that matches the gold white and blue gems in yours
Nice build. What do you think of Tempest Sorc build though? 8 storm sorc, 2 temperst cleric 2 divination wizard, or 6 sorc 6 cleric - there are many options, but my question is: do you think tempest sorc can compete with this sorclock build?
I adore that build, I was actually planning on making a video on it next! In terms of single target probably not but in terms of AoE it absolutely crushes the Sorlock due to the interaction between the wet condition and lightning damage. I think they actually work well in tandem!
Run - IAMTHEKIDYOUKNOWWHATIMEAN If you enjoyed it I highly recommend you either play/listen to the Hotline Miami soundtrack, one of the best OST's of all time imo
What about instead of 3 levels into each rouge and fighter, what if you take 4 levels into rouge for the feat spell sniper and then 2 levels into fighter for the action surge so that way, you’re still lowering crit roll chance? Is that a viable build strategy as well? Or no? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this
Can you make a video talking about how to build a consistent party and distribution of items, because so many builds use the same items, so if i'm using the crit items, other characters can't, all the time i caught myself traped in some builds because of item conflict
A reasonable request and one that I will take into consideration! I was already planning on making a full-team guide, have just been thinking about how to go about it so it doesn't become a 3 hour video x)
I’m doing an honor mode run, MC is gloomstalker, astarion bardadin, and probably will get this sorlock buildnon Wyll or Gale. Since risky ring is contested with astarion and boots of stormy clamour on gloomstalker, what would you recommend for the sorlock instead?
im confused can somebody explain how he gets two targets with eb when hes discussing the level 5 stuff i wouldve thought he gets it from twinned spell but he doesnt even have sorcery pts yet
Same problem. Missed spellsparkler and now I wonder if I even should make this build. I'm 44 hours into this game and don't want to start all over again just for the staff
I have a question would the hags hair be best for this build or the gloomstalker build in your other video I am in honor mode and I am running both these builds in my party.
Tough question... Both are fantastic candidates and have solo carry potential. It depends on a few factors: - If the Sorlock is your face character/Tav it could be better as the Hag's Hair will also influence dialogue checks that they are making - I would be inclined to give the Hag's Hair to the build which I will NOT be giving the Risky Ring to. The modifier of the build wearing the Risky Ring is less important due to always attacking with advantage With these in mind I think perhaps your best bet is to give the Risky Ring to the Gloomstalker, the Hag's Hair to the Sorlock, and try your luck in the Mirror of Loss for both characters to compensate!
Do you think I can do the same build with just one sword/dagger in my hand? (maybe with the pact) but I would like to have almost the same build, with sorc etc. 😊
Yes of course, in which case I highly recommend grabbing Viconia's Walking Fortress as a shield in the off hand! Otherwise just whatever you deem fit, the build is super strong regardless
Yes, but no - Phalar Aluve is a must have in a party comp but this build specifically can't/shouldn't wield it. They would have to be in melee-ish range which would incur disadvantage on attack rolls and you cannot Dual WIeld Phalar Aluve with a staff without the Dual-Wielder feat. Since the Spellsparkler is a MUST early on, the best way to go about it would be to have a more frontline oriented caster equip it (e.g. a Light Cleric)
@RoxxSerm I figured it out 2 days ago- he's running a half wood elf with the militia background. You can't alter your race/background without mods, apart from disguise self, which doesn't work on the background anyway. I dipped into fighter early to get shield proficency, and I think I would have been better off with more sorc fwiw.
@@LukaLoud 😭😂 no, no skin mod. I think he looks like that because I carry a sponge around to perpetually clean off the dirt, blood, and wear you’d otherwise constantly have
I don't think there is a stat cap but I think the highest you can possibly get any single stat is 24? Assuming the following: 17 Base, +1 Hag's Hair, +2 Ability Improvement, +2 Mirror of Loss = 22 For something like Charisma you can get a +2 from Birthright and +3 from Mirror of Loss which can raise it to 24. Other than that I'm unsure how you would get Dexterity to 26. If you find out let me know that would be ginormous x)
@@NonExclusive6669 Ah I see what you're asking now, in that regard yes there is a stat cap - you can take ability improvement as many times as you like BUT can only "improve" a given stat up to 20.
The levels into Sorcerer allow you to cast Eldritch Blast as a bonus action as well as an action. Eldritch Blast at level 5 shoots 2 beam per cast but can still only be cast with an action without the inclusion of Sorcerer
@ do you get the 2 blasts from total character level? Because if so that’s why I’m confused. I understand being able to cast eldritch blast as a bonus action is the point of the build. But if warlock level 5-6 gets the two beams but 4 sorc/2 warlock doesn’t then I’m confused
The video already demonstrates a way to farm infinite sorcery points. Not everything included in the video is indicative of the extent of my game knowledge. I know that may be a hard concept to grasp :)
@@searching4god Sure. But one would think it is better to show the more efficient and less tedious way to get infinite sorcery points. Why doing something convoluted when we can do simple ? I know that is an easy concept to grasp:)

How do you get infinite sorcery points? by using the amulet and shield method?
The Alfira cutscene will be queued to trigger upon the first rest, unless you progress certain parts of the game such as meeting Karlach, which have long rest cutscenes that are given priority. A safe bet is to knock her out everyday and use multiple partial rests to get through all scripted camp scenes. Sometimes Arron the vendor will magically teleport to witness your assault, so make sure and utilize turn based mode to one turn her.
I’ve learned the hard way since… rest in peace Arron you were too nosy for your own good
The pause then “how’s your day going” I laughed my ass off
From my experience, alfira/quil shows up the first long rest AFTER crossing the bridge before the bligheted village
+1 for the use of the Deus Ex theme music. That tune will live forever in my memory.
Thanks!
I had a lot of fun reading this comment :) Thank you!
Mage armour doesn't work with draconic bloodline as you have base 13 from draconic sorc and mage armour gives same base armour
Nice video, this game for me is like POE but in different style, I enjoy this builds variation
I can kinda see it, it definitely has a similar variety of builds!
once more insane job! can't wait to try this out in honor mode along with gloomstalker ^^ i find it funny how bg3 is so much different than the tabletop dnd, irl I would be bored out of my mind spamming EB for hours at a time but bg3 manages to make it genuinely fun!
Worth it for the screenshot alone :) DEFINITELY should have mentioned Phalar Aluve in this video btw good reminder
@searching4god i saw in another video you can get a mage hand to hold and activate phalar aluve
@@scottgmccalla That is hilarious, if that actually works then that is definitely optimal x)
Love "knock knock" music 🤩
The flavour of starting was a fiend warlock and swapping to great old one is very funny. Like, “yea imma make a deal with the devil, the powers are cool” and then later on you just decide “yea nah, these weird mind Flayer guys and this absolute stuff is kinda cool, sorry Raphael/whatever fiend you’ve made your pact with, imma side with these guys”
There is also Spellcrux Amulet to replenish an expended spell slot of any level. maximize them sorcery points :D
OMFG "JUST PICKPOCKET LUCRECIOUS AND BE DOWN WITH THIS" would have earned a like in of itself
Thanks for the build it allowed me to beat honor mode

@@searching4god yasssss just gonna eldritch blast everrythinggggg just gonna remember to knock out alfira
But, but, but... I need potent robe on my gish swords bard thief to cast Vicious Mockeries with Ring of the Mystic Scoundrel and all kinds of Psychic Resonator shenanigans :D
Jokes aside, very well done build video of a true classic. I haven't played it since they changed the lightning charge interaction, maybe will give it another whirl sometime soon.
You know what maybe you don’t need the potent robe on the Sorlock x)
The fact that that could work is actually hilarious
Thank you
Don’t take armor of Agathys because dark ones blessings already gives you temporary hit points and it would remove the armor of Agathys
Nice intro❤
With this and your other 2 Best Builds guides, you have the risky ring for all of them. Which one do you think would benefit most from it, if I were to run a party with all of them?
I've definitely considered that when making them, it's tough because literally every build wants the risky ring, it's almost entirely the reason I include the "gear alternative section"!
It's super tough but it goes in this order:
1) the character that has the Hag's Hair and therefore the most "investment" into
2) probably the Sorlock.
@@searching4god great reply. Thanks a lot. Haven't played in a while but considering getting back into it trying to complete my first honour mode run.

@@searching4god =^.^=
Hey! Absolutely love the video and will definitely be following this on my third playthrough for sure (gonna have so much fun abusing enemies with eldritch blast)
I had a really peculiar question to ask.
My current idea is to do something like
2 Warlock/3 Fighter/4 Rogue/6 Sorcerer
(15 levels)
and take all of the benefits of the things you've mentioned thus far, and I was considering (for level 15+) to do either
4 Warlock/4 Fighter/4 Rogue/8 Sorcerer
(20 levels)
however i'm not sure if this is a good idea, or if i should just do something like 2 Warlock/4 Fighter/4 Rogue/10 Sorcerer or 2 Warlock/6 Fighter/4 Rogue/ 8 Sorcerer. I'm not sure if the additional feats are worth not getting additional sorcery points/spell slots with sorcerer, so please share your thoughts if you're willing!
finally, thanks a bunch regardless and this is a great video all around, loved it from start to finish
p.s. i know that this will be incredibly broken at level 20 but let me have my fun haha
No worries at all, and I'm all for modding, have your fun :)
I actually think your instinct is correct, this build wouldn't benefit THAT much from further investing into it's respective subclasses so just rounding out some of the levels for feats and finishing with Sorcerer for Sorcery Points makes a lot of sense to me. I suppose if I were to deviate from your spread, it would be to include at least 5 levels of Warlock for the inclusion of Hunger of Hadar and the Devil's Sight Eldritch Incantation - that way you create a domain of darkness that you can both shoot into and shoot enemies back into.
4 Warlock/4 Fighter/4 Rogue/8 Sorcerer - I think this is a great base, so based on what I said about Hunger of Hadar (and the fact that you can technically have infinite sorcery points with the Shield exploit), I would ultimately suggest:
5 Warlock/4 Fighter (Champion)/4 Rogue/7 Sorcerer.

But you’re also spot on in draining Charisma being garbino 😭
Still probably worth it!

Maybe you should explain why not Eldritch Blast for example on Sorcerer.
I have absolutely no idea what this means
Thank you so much! I'll make sure to do those things :D
Wouldn’t be having more double haste casts way more useful compared to rogue’s bonus action? You will also have more metamagic spell slots this way.
Ooops
Getting consistent advantage without expending spell slots/resources is much tougher than hit chance - I don't recall any gear piece that would let a warlock get it reliably and you can't always activate prone and then stand within 3 meters to get advantage.
Something else that I've noticed is that the crit threshold helms are anoyingly all light armors or medium armors which will tank your armour class while wearing potent robes + mage armour.
any chance you can share the half elf face creation? it is quite aesthetic.
Most all of it is modded but I can share the mods necessary to copy the look exactly (all from Nexusmods):
- The face model is from Vemperen's Other Heads
- The eyes are from The Eyes of the Beholder (Aberration Preset)
- The hair is from Vesnelle's Hair Collection (pack 2)
If you face any issues feel free to dm me I'll help however I can :)
Good video ! Can i replace 4 Their with 4 Fighter instead for action surge as i think is better? and mind if you can tell me why you choose thief
for the extra bonus action. quickened spell lets you cast a spell as a bonus action, so its an extra eldritch blast every turn as long as you have sorcery points. So its functionally like having action surge every turn, instead of once per short rest, which is why its taken as a higher priority than fighter
Thank you for your builds! What would be your perfect 4 builds for synergy for honor mode?
Great question, I can think of so many combinations. The main principle(s) I follow are a) little to no competition for gear b) interconnected synergy. Something like:
1. Bardadin / Sorcadin (Face Character)
2. Gloomstalker Assassin (optimal with Bardadin wearing the Bhaalist Armor)
3. Open Hand Monk (Amazing single target, great resource management, ZERO gear competition)
4. Tempest Wizard (Phenomenal AoE, little to no gear competition, high Int for Int checks)
This is an example of a team comp that diversifies both their roles and their BiS gear pieces.
Thank you! Yes it is from a mod, "Effe's Consort Dyes" on NexusMods :)
Why the fuck are your videos sooooo good and you have no views and these ppl making garbage guides have a ton of views.
I think they actually work well in tandem!
what song is playing at 36:04?

What about instead of 3 levels into each rouge and fighter, what if you take 4 levels into rouge for the feat spell sniper and then 2 levels into fighter for the action surge so that way, you’re still lowering crit roll chance? Is that a viable build strategy as well? Or no? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this
Yep, of course. It ends up being virtually the same as the Champion fighter benefit is essentially just the Spell Sniper feat. Totally viable.
@@searching4god ok cool. Thank you for your input :)
I go over a few alternatives in my gearing section if certain pieces are contested, any of those work fine :)
im confused can somebody explain how he gets two targets with eb when hes discussing the level 5 stuff i wouldve thought he gets it from twinned spell but he doesnt even have sorcery pts yet
any alternative for those who lost the Spellsparkler?
Same problem. Missed spellsparkler and now I wonder if I even should make this build. I'm 44 hours into this game and don't want to start all over again just for the staff
Big same 😅
I have a question would the hags hair be best for this build or the gloomstalker build in your other video I am in honor mode and I am running both these builds in my party.
Tough question... Both are fantastic candidates and have solo carry potential. It depends on a few factors:
- If the Sorlock is your face character/Tav it could be better as the Hag's Hair will also influence dialogue checks that they are making
- I would be inclined to give the Hag's Hair to the build which I will NOT be giving the Risky Ring to. The modifier of the build wearing the Risky Ring is less important due to always attacking with advantage
With these in mind I think perhaps your best bet is to give the Risky Ring to the Gloomstalker, the Hag's Hair to the Sorlock, and try your luck in the Mirror of Loss for both characters to compensate!
Hmm.. after all this my accuracy to hit EB is like 50-60 on average... Idk if thats worth it or not lmfao
Is this build still good in patch 7?
Of course, no major gameplay therefore no changes to the viability of any of my builds :)
really late but what if we can’t get the spellsparkler? my friend got a different reward for it so i can’t get the spellsparkler anymore
No worries, it is not build-defining in the way the Potent Robes are - just take any old staff that gives + spell attack roll and a shield for AC
thanks for replying!! also, how do i get proficiency with shields? it says im not proficient - currently level 7
Question at level 2 warlock don’t you only get one beam per eldritch blast cast?
2 beams at character level 5
3 beams at character level 10
its total level
isnt better to use phale vale, instead of a shield, for the shriek in act I?
Yes, but no - Phalar Aluve is a must have in a party comp but this build specifically can't/shouldn't wield it. They would have to be in melee-ish range which would incur disadvantage on attack rolls and you cannot Dual WIeld Phalar Aluve with a staff without the Dual-Wielder feat. Since the Spellsparkler is a MUST early on, the best way to go about it would be to have a more frontline oriented caster equip it (e.g. a Light Cleric)
