We bought our Series III last November, 4th one to come into Washington State. We bought it for the ride which is awesome. Had to use the Off Road feature when the mortar range at Ft Lewis was activated and they closed the road out of the Skeet Range. Exited via the perimeter road which was pretty rough. Raised the suspension, dropped it into 4X4 and surprised the hell out of the road guard when I emerged out of the trees along the fence. As for the Parking Brake, you can go into settings and select Automatic Set whenever you put it in Park and it comes off when you put it in drive. It’s one of the few newer 4X4’s you can use as a Towed vehicle also. Has a 10k lbs towing capacity. As for the HUD, I’m 5’8” and 155lbs and 66yo so the seat fits me perfectly which means I don’t have to slouch to be comfortable. The heated steering wheel feels good on my hard worked hands as I drive down the road “looking like I just got my license and driving to my mom’s”, but hey, I don’t give a fu*# how I look, that’s the advantage of old age and success I guess. My Jeep Rubicon (that I traded in on the Wagoneer) days are behind me so now it’s all about comfort. All the amenities were pretty straight forward even for a Boomer like me. Nice review, I enjoyed it.
@@DirtRoadTherapy One more thing. I programmed the suspension to lower when I shut the car off. This was to help my mom who is 86 years old to get in and out of the car easily when I go and take her out to lunch once a month. Plus it’s easier in the front seat edges when getting in and out of the car.
Regarding the complaint about location of the heads up on windshield at 2:45 mark...you can move the HUD placement in settings left, right, up, down. Helps to read the manual.
Thanks for watching! Glad you’re loving your Wagoneer. Matt has had a little issue with his but the dealer experience has been overwhelmingly good. Once he’s hit 6 months of ownership I’d like to shoot a follow up video with him so make sure you check back!

I share the same sentiments. The side steps they're putting on a lot of these trucks now are super nice! A roll down rear window would have been a welcome feature for sure
Matt and I were recently discussing a follow up episode to this since he's coming up on 6 months of ownership and has had it in the dealer for some "issues". He's still a big fan of the vehicle and I'd love to share his experience with you all! Then how would you all feel about us doing a little side by side classic Grand Wagoneer to 2022 Wagoneer comparison?
Great video -- love Matt's personality in this. That seems to be the 'issue' with the new wagoneer, that folks have to go back into the dealership and fix stuff every now and then -- taking a dent on the reliability side. So any update from Matt would be super helpful for people like me that are on the fence. Thanks!
I bought a Wagoneer series II a week ago. I am actually scared after seeing all negative feedbacks all over the place.. This review give me some relief lol. I hope my car can perform ok. I had a 2016 grand cherokee that I owned 6 years without major issue just a bunch recalls (like 5 or so..) As long as it's the same level, I would be fine with that. Other than that, I like the car.
There's always some risk as an early adopter of a first generation, and I think there were a lot of haters primed for this one, especially given the price point. So the negative reviews are scathing and the positive reviews are drown out. It always takes a multitude of positive to outweigh any negative. I'm sure you'll get many good years out of the vehicle and will enjoy the ownership experience.
The jeep is nice but that property is a dream WOW I would love some land like that and a nice ranch style home smack dab in the middle . Very good video

That’s so cool, enjoy it! And thank you! Probably not a whole lot more modern GW content to come, but I am building a classic 1988 Grand Wagoneer which you may enjoy! That vehicle will find its way onto the channel very soon

@@aaronkelley3865 Not a gimmick…I believe you can’t have stop/start without it…need an electronic ignition to do it…there are other reasons too…remote start, etc…
@@petegalindez9961 Wrong. My Silverado has an electronic ignition but still uses a traditional key. It also has remote start. The only difference between my truck and other vehicles with push-to-start is: on one, you push a button with your finger to make the starter crank; and on the other, you stick a key in a hole and turn to make the starter crank. My son in law bought one for $85,000 and it came with some cheap tires that were worthless on snow, why couldn't they put Michelin on it? he had to throw them away and bought Michelin Defender.
