    This is great, we also live on acres and I'm planning on a much bigger tree next year so it's easily seen from the nearby road (about 200 yards away). Thanks for making the video.

    I’m doing a similar size tree this year. 32 strand/1” spacing about 23’ tall with star. How many holes (if any) did you leave between last pixel at the top and your j hooks at the topper?

    Dont know how you made that look so easy going in the hole. This thing was so dang heavy. Next time I will use 5 guys!!!

    Very well proportioned tree! What ratio did you use for top to bottom? If possible can you tell me the height of tree without star and radius one bottom. I’ve heard that it should be half of what the height is to look proportionate.

    Did you find the 18" of receiver enough, I thought about going deeper. My EMT pole replacing is 36"+ deep. So all the weight is held by the cable only? What dia. cable did you use on the wench? Any resistance going up and down?

    • @FairyPixelDust
      @FairyPixelDust  3 роки тому +2

      18” receiver was plenty. This was in WI that ground turns frozen solid very quickly. I now live in Florida, and I still think it’s plenty, it’s just enough to pin it to the ground. The Guy wires do all the work. I used 1/8” stainless Cable. Withstood 50+ MPH winds all season.

    Thanks for the video, it is very helpful. I am finishing up my megatree and looking for advice on guy wire size. What size are your guy wires?

    • @FairyPixelDust
      @FairyPixelDust  Рік тому +1

      @@jeffnjenniferauvenshine3132 I set them at about 1.5x the height of the pole. Mine was 20’ high, so guy wires were 30’ long.

    this is a perfect design. I did notice at the end the stings seemed pretty loose. Did you come up with a solution to make them tighter on the base? Great video

    • @FairyPixelDust
      @FairyPixelDust  3 роки тому +2

      I used more ratching straps to secure it to the ground more, and bungee balls to keep the strips tight, it worked great all season long.

    Did you bend the EMT base yourself? If so, how? I'm trying to get a nice, stable, rigid ring for my base and I am having trouble bending my EMT to a nice round curve like yours appears to be.
